As soon as you get to the door, someone is there to scan your ID. I prefer this method. Anyways, this place seems to have everything. $2.50 shots, $5 drinks, tacos, elote en vaso, burgers, pizza, fries, cigars, etc. everything is fairly priced and there was plenty of seating. The servers were attentive and wonderful at their job because of the fact that they got everything out to us quickly with so many people in the establishment. The only reason why I'm giving this place 4/5 stars is because of the terrible smell. I know it's a bar, but this cigarette smell would surpass even the smelliest bar in Vegas 5X. I showed up with 2 of my friends because I had heard good things about it. As soon as we walked in and made our way to a table, the guy behind the bar yelled at us to have our ID's ready when he came to our table. We're all 21. A friend had her ID recently pickpocketed while away in Argentina so she had a paper ID from the DMV. The guy came from behind the bar to wait on us (from John D's review and an air of arrogance, I assume the manager) called us "young motherfuckers" after approaching us with virile hostility. He asked my friend what she was doing in Argentina and gave me shit about asking what the house specialty was. When I asked him if he was drunk, because he had to have been SOME sort of fucked up to treat anyone with that kind of attitude, he replied "I'm just tired." It was 4pm. Long night ahead of you, buddy. I wasn't quite ready to order, so I got another serving of attitude instead and decided to just leave because I had never been treated that way. On the way out some old creepy dudes slurred some drunk insult to my friend and I walked out with my middle finger held high. Seedy employees will attract a seedy crowd. I hear it's cheap, but I didn't even get a chance to look at the menu because I was being harassed by a sorry bitter middle-aged waiter/bartender/manager. Bar. Yes, this is a bar, plain and simple. Bring your own food. All in all, awesome place. Good, cheap beer. Cigars you can smoke right then and there. Helpful and friendly staff. so this customer comes in with a previous employee of cigar bar.. named Claire.. this girl has major mental issues that's why she was fired.... anyways.. its 3 of then that come in and order.. by the way I dont even take care of them it was someone else who was serving them... claire and her new boyfriend take off and leave this guy sitting there not knowing wtf is goin on . They are known for their fabulous drink specials: any beer, domestic or import, is $2, shots are either $3, $4, or $5 and martini's are only $6!! Awesome beer selection. Staff seems to be hit or miss with service. Had one bartender who was on the ball at replacing my empty beer. Most of the staff seemed unhappy to be working and stood around talking to each other. Good crowd on a Thursday night. Not much of a cigar selection for a place calling themself a cigar bar. I've been here for drinks about 3 times. You can get cheap drinks here, great for pre gaming. The bartender who helped me the 3 times i went was great. He checks on you, clears the table of empty glasses, he's fast, etc etc. The smoke can be overwhelming at times, but it's a CIGAR bar. So if you don't like being around smoke, don't come here. You will leave smelling like smoke. There's some kind of charge or minimum when you use card, so I guess take cash when you go. So as we get there i was let in with no problem 5 mins later as i decide what to drink security comes up said he has to cut my off cause my eyes are too low, i laughed cause i get this alot. The only thing this bar has going for it is the cheap alcohol. The so called bartender (some short blonde) would not stop texting, never acknowledging me or any of the people around me. When I tried to get her attention she walked away. SERIOUSLY??? The place is filthy, when i finally got a shot she overdid the chamoyada plus! the shot glass was dirty it had lipstick stain on it. Today was my first time at this bar and it was A-Ok. Go for the drinks stay for the eye candy. This place needs a couple of pool tables. The service could be a little better, I ordered a jack and Coke and expected it to be done right away, not 5minutes later. Also the prices don't make any sense. A regular jack and Coke is the same price as a double jack and Coke. The bar tender seemed to be a little behind on the orders, I guess that just means it's busy and there's only one bar tender. They have a great selection which will definitely get your palette up. It used to be super packed with a crowded bar area, but due to DeLoreans opening up there is now a possibility of finding a place to sit. Rude manager will not serve you if he assumes you are intoxicated. He refuses to serve you because you were there earlier and had 2 drinks (beer) then I left and came back a couple of hours later because friends wanted to go there for the last hour and he refused to serve me and have no idea why because one of his bartenders served me a beer with no problem that I turned and gave to one of my friends. Really, intoxicated, what about all the customers that have been sitting there for more than a couple of hours. I have seen people fall out their chairs there and they do not get kicked out. Whoever owns this bar, seriously you lose customers because your staff can't manage. As a manager, I have always provided the best customer service. WTF! Someone really needs to inspect McAllen cigar bar. Horrible service .. My wings were hard and order wasn't correct. Manager and waiter were super rude. Manager said no when I asked if he could correct my order. Said that I was lying and ordered and different sauce. He even refused to change them out for fresh ones . Absolutely the worst customer service I've seen in a very long, long time. I sat there for twenty minutes, watching, as five bartenders went back and forth, with no sense of urgency. After about ten minutes, I asked the lady next to me if this was typical. She told me it used to no be this way. So me and 4 friends, went to this place tonight as sober as it gets. One round is ordered. We sat there just hanging mellow, and taking in the vibes. One of the my friends decides to get a 2nd round, and pays for it. He comes back, and as he is about sit down, 2 security guards take the beers away, throws them in the trash and say we have been cut off. WOW. You might be thinking, what did we do? I myself was thinking that. Keep in mind. Totally sober, and none of my party was acting like a clown. So we walk out as the whole bar is staring at us. Once we are outside, with my hands somewhat up, in such a manner to show the security guards I mean no threat, I politely ask, "please, I mean no disrespect, I just want to know what we did wrong," he said repeatedly "Your cut off, Your cut off, Your cut off!" So bizarre, let me tell you, Im not a perfect person, and have made many mistakes, and have acted a fool in the past. This was not one of those times! My whole party was extremely disrespected, and the worse part about it, was absolutely NO explanation was given. My only conclusion is that they did not like a large party of guys, because as we walked in, they were in the process of kicking out a large group of guys as well. In a nut shell. I do NOT recommend going to this establishment. The security there is very hostile, and to be quite honest, the clientele looks about as shady as a bar in Tattooine (Star Wars,) your clothes will come out smelling like an ash tray, and overall, the staff is about as friendly as uncle scrooge.
