If you're considering this place I strongly suggest you look for inspo on how you want it to look because it really is a blank slate. You get to bring in your own caterer and decor which is nice. We went with Elma's Catering based in San Jose but omg their food is amazing. We still get compliments on the food. I know they say your guests don't remember the food. But ours did which makes me feel good about our decision. Elma's catering did most of our event which I highly recommend from food to the draping from Pillar to pillar and indoor/outdoor Photo Booth. I saw other people enclosed their guest using tents. Personally, I feel that's blocking the beautiful scenery in the back. We decided to do pillars and drape them around so the space feels open yet elegant and decorated. We also brought in someone to do our Italian string lights from Chic Event rentals. They did beautiful lighting for a romantic night vibe. Casa Maria does have a flood light which did came in handy towards the very end. But I wanted the night to be more romantic and less of a bright light in your face while dancing. We used the inside for cocktail hour and had the guest sit down outside for dinner. I loved that our guest had places where they can look around or step outside for a smoke on the deck. If you're looking for a nice romantic vintage Spanish vibe this is it. They are strict on alcohol but what we found is that people really like micheladas. We had shmack_shak_ cater our micheladas and they were a hit. We bought all the alcohol and also had a bartender from Elma's catering come and manage the bar indoors. You can definitely have a really nice wedding here if you're willing to dress it up as much as you want. It's a really beautiful and historic place.

My husband & I searched for about six months for our wedding venue and were sold on the Casa Maria…read moreHall moments after walking in. The venue is breathtaking! It has amazing views all around it and the hall itself had a rich Spanish/Mediterranean feel to it. Very eloquent which Call's for minimal decor since the venue really speaks for itself. The venue staff was very kind and helpful. William who runs it was very attentive and answered all my questions in a timely manner anytime I had any. He was there the day of the wedding to open up the venue for us so our team could prepare for the arrival of our guests. He manned the bar the evening of and our guests really enjoyed him. He had the bar as fully stoked as he could keep it but our people kept him on his toes. He had to do three liquor runs throughout the event because our people kept buying drinks. The venue itself was pretty useful. We were able to use the stage for our band, the courtyard for our dinner and special dances, the kitchen for our families to warm up food, & the reception hall to have our ceremony. This venue is very easy to use and I'd highly recommend it. The only other thing I would highly recommend is making sure to have your event fall or early spring as San Juan Bautista can be very hot. We got the perfect date doing it Labor Day weekend. Also, make sure your team works in a timely manner if not they will eat into your deposit if they stay longer than the time allotted to clean up. Disclaimer: If you are LGBT you cannot legally get married on the Casa Maria grounds as it is part of the Catholic Church. However, the loop hole we found is getting married ahead of time and having a ring exchange ceremony at Casa Maria in front of our friends and families worked just fine.

What a cool little foody discovery! Living in a nearby area my whole life I partook, for the first…read moretime, in a hearty and satisfying breakfast today at the Aromas Community Grange. Arrived shortly after 9:15 am and the place was buzzing with locals socializing and enjoying breakfast. For a pleasantly affordable $10 you get (2) medium sized whole wheat pancakes (plain or blueberry) a choice of ham or sausage links, choice of regular scrambled eggs or a "deluxe" mushroom and cheese variation, which I chose the later, and it was delicious. Better quality and more kitchen lovin' than my Sunday "Denny's" breakfast outting and you're helping a good cause! Volunteers young and old pass-by tables with little cups of various fruit juices and refilling hot coffee cup's continually. There's a table where you help yourself to fresh fruit (today bananas, cantaloupe wedges, and oranges). I had breakfast with folks I've met for the first time and ended up chatting about common ground stories of our lives. There's also no-cover live music entertainment while you dine. It happens the last Sunday of the month from 8:00 to 11:00am, and worth the little detour out to Aromas. As long as the economical price remains, maybe a regular thing...

On top of that they played LOUD music all night long. You couldn't hear the person next too you talking. They also had a raffles with various prizes and when she was presenting the baskets and calling the numbers she was SCREAMING everything. Hmm maybe turn down the music while doing this. It started at 7 and we only got through 3 games by 9pm. We left early because we didn't want to be there until midnight and the loudness was unbearable. They had this event at dinner time and only offered minimal desserts: brownies, cookies and 2 small trays of cinnamon rolls, along with coffee, water and wine. One coffee was supposed to be decaf and it looked like weak tea and had no taste. We left there starving. Maybe they should consider making it a pot luck. Doubt we'll be back.

We worked with Emily, Theresa, and Kelly, and the team is very communicative during the planning process leading up to the wedding. Very easy to customize exactly what we wanted for our wedding. Kelly was our on-site coordinator on the day of the wedding and really went above and beyond with being attentive throughout the entire event and ensuring everything went smoothly. Also highly recommend DJ Brian - he has such a natural personality fit for this and was so professional!

*Review based on my impression from the venue tour*…read more First thought : wow, this surrounding view is nice. The drive to get to the venue after passing the gate reminded me of the other wedgewood wedding property I went to earlier in the year - nice houses, golf course, greenery. I can't follow directions and in an attempt to follow the instruction from the email, we went through the wrong entrance (aka side door), so for a few min it felt like we were playing escape room to find the phone that we were supposed to call. However, if you follow the instructions right, you should be able to see the fireplace right when you open the door. It's a nice grand entrance. The interior area is pretty nice, although it does look dated if you look closely. However, I feel like the layout didn't suit the vision of what we want for our wedding day. As for the ceremony area, I personally thought the indoor version looks/feels nicer than the outdoor version. The outdoor one would be easy access from the parking lot though. I loooved the bridal suite/getting ready area. The groom's suite was nice and spacious too, but has locker room vibe with hoops. The person (wedding expert) giving us the tour was very good at selling us the vision, giving detailed info, etc. As opposed to touring the venue first, eagle ridge gave us the run down and "sales/informational pitch" first. The sales pitch is v important for wedding venue shopping, so no negative connotation there. We ended up choosing a different venue: one main reason was the fact that we can't try the food first. We didn't feel comfortable locking in to an all inclusive venue that doesn't allow outside catering. The menu options look good enough, but how does it taste???? It would suck if we end up not liking the food during the tasting and having to settle for a "I guess this is fine because we have no other choice". We were ready to pay to be able to have the chance for trying out the food first. Unfortunately, that was not an option. The other reason was the fact that we don't have much getting ready time. If I remember correctly, you only get to go in the suites 1-2 hrs before start time. The club is only open to the members prior to that. Idk about other brides, but I personally would need a lot more than that if I'm doing makeup and hair there. The timing might be okay if you only plan on changing into your dress there.
