We just recently got married at Eagle Ridge in August, and WOW -- we truly could not have asked for a better experience! From the very beginning, the entire process was so easy and straightforward. Everyone we worked with was incredibly helpful, and one of our favorite things about Wedgewood was how customizable everything was. Having all of the vendors included made planning so much easier -- we were able to choose what we loved and make everything feel personal to us without the stress of finding and coordinating separate vendors. We loved that we still had plenty of guidance and support every step of the way! Our coordinator, Emily Loera, was an absolute angel! We seriously fell in love with her, her humor, and the way she guided us through the entire process. She made us feel so comfortable and made sure we loved every detail -- even the tiniest ones. She was so helpful in bringing our vision to life, and we genuinely cannot thank her enough! And the venue itself? Absolutely stunning. Our outdoor ceremony was beautiful and everything we dreamed of, but I have to say... the reception space was probably my personal favorite! I absolutely loved the vintage feel. The bar, chandeliers, windows, fireplace -- it was all SO gorgeous and gave the space so much character. We also have to give a huge shoutout to everyone who made our day so special! *Review based on my impression from the venue tour* First thought : wow, this surrounding view is nice. The drive to get to the venue after passing the gate reminded me of the other wedgewood wedding property I went to earlier in the year - nice houses, golf course, greenery. I can't follow directions and in an attempt to follow the instruction from the email, we went through the wrong entrance (aka side door), so for a few min it felt like we were playing escape room to find the phone that we were supposed to call. However, if you follow the instructions right, you should be able to see the fireplace right when you open the door. It's a nice grand entrance. The interior area is pretty nice, although it does look dated if you look closely. However, I feel like the layout didn't suit the vision of what we want for our wedding day. As for the ceremony area, I personally thought the indoor version looks/feels nicer than the outdoor version. The outdoor one would be easy access from the parking lot though. I loooved the bridal suite/getting ready area. The groom's suite was nice and spacious too, but has locker room vibe with hoops. The person (wedding expert) giving us the tour was very good at selling us the vision, giving detailed info, etc. As opposed to touring the venue first, eagle ridge gave us the run down and "sales/informational pitch" first. The sales pitch is v important for wedding venue shopping, so no negative connotation there. We ended up choosing a different venue: one main reason was the fact that we can't try the food first. We didn't feel comfortable locking in to an all inclusive venue that doesn't allow outside catering. The menu options look good enough, but how does it taste???? It would suck if we end up not liking the food during the tasting and having to settle for a "I guess this is fine because we have no other choice". We were ready to pay to be able to have the chance for trying out the food first. Unfortunately, that was not an option. The other reason was the fact that we don't have much getting ready time. If I remember correctly, you only get to go in the suites 1-2 hrs before start time. The club is only open to the members prior to that. Idk about other brides, but I personally would need a lot more than that if I'm doing makeup and hair there. The timing might be okay if you only plan on changing into your dress there. read more

Our wedding at Eagle Ridge was everything we wanted and more!! The entire staff was wonderful, but our coordinators Emily and Kelly were outstanding. They were there for us throughout the entire wedding planning process. They also supported us the entire day - bringing us drinks, appetizers and even lipstick when I needed a touch-up. The flowers and proprep decorations were beautiful. We got so many compliments on the cake from I Do bakery!! It was delicious! Guests loved the drinks, appetizers and salad, but mentioned the entrees were a bit dry. The bartenders handled the busy bar with ease and the DJ kept the dance floor packed until the very last song. Our banquet captain Leandra packed up all our decorations and personal items from our suites and loaded it into our car at the end of the night. The team was so efficient, it allowed us to continue mingling with our guests as we headed to our after party. Everything went perfect and it was all because of the wonderful team at Eagle Ridge. Our wedding was amazing!! We had our wedding here on 1/23/26 and everything was perfect. Teresa was our coordinator and she, along with the rest of the Wedgwood team did such a great job. It was so easy planning things as communication was always clear and fast. We went with the elite package and it did not disappoint. The food was delicious, and DJ Brian did an amazing job, keeping the crowd lively and going. Luke was our photographer and he was so great to work with; very calm and gave great direction when taking photographs. We got married at Eagle Ridge in July of 2025. We highly recommend this venue. The staff was amazing and easy to work with from the beginning to the end. Priscilla was with us for our rehearsal and for our wedding day. She applied all of her attention to the little details that mattered most to me. She made sure that our suites were ready and stocked with the beverages we had requested before arriving. She made sure that our timeline was met and we never felt rushed. What really took me by surprise and made my heart flutter was the lovely surprise she left us. During our ceremony, she was able to place herself at the end of the isle and take our picture during our "I do" kiss. When we had a moment to return to our suites, we each had a picture frame displaying our first kiss. That small touch made my night. Our DJ Brian was phenomenal!! The venue for the perfect wedding!! Beautiful venue, a professional team, and very easy planning. Highly recommend! I loved the huge newly renovated bridal suits, ceremony site, and cocktail hour space. The reception area is a bit old, but with some magic from pro-prep events, it was easily fixed. Our package: We have got the elite package. Basically, we upgraded everything that can be upgraded. We were taking this into account, the price of the packages at Eagle Ridge is way less than the majority of the venues in the area, so we were able to upgrade almost everything. We included shots at the open bar and it was such a good decision. The cool part we didn't have to pay extra to include shots, and we didn't have any limits at the bar. Very convenient and worry-free setup. Planning: Jeniffer was our wedding planner and she is THE BEST!! I was so happy she was our coordinator on the day of the wedding. She is so friendly, nice, professional, and attentive. She was the reason our wedding went PERFECTLY! Ceremony Site: Honestly this site is so beautiful that you don't need to decorate it with flowers at all. We added flower services from an external vendor (the Wedgewood team was so nice to our external vendors THANK YOU). Also, we upgraded the ceremony chairs. Cocktail hour space and the bar: Just gorgeous space, with a fireplace (we asked to turn it on and it was magical for a somewhat cold November evening). Inside cocktail hour space is somewhat small for 64 guests, but there is a way to go outside and enjoy a gorgeous sunset with views of the golf course. Our guests loved it. Reception Site: The reception site is a bit old, I personally had issues with the walls, lol. They are quite old-looking + old flooring. I fixed it with some wall droppings from the recommended vendor "Pro-Prep Events" which worked perfectly. We upgraded all the centerpieces and my vision of the reception site was executed the way I imagine. Food: OMG, food was a bomb! My husband and I weren't eating much because of nerves and stress but our guests loved everything! TIP: ask your wedding coordinator about house favorites, they are favorites for a reason!! How many stars do you leave a venue that refuses to put out dessert plates for your event? It is hard to believe, but that is exactly what happened at our event at Eagle Ridge. It was so disappointing as we spent over a year planning out every detail of this event for our daughter other graduating Seniors & this was not one of the things we ever anticipated could go wrong. After dinner, we had a short window of time for our 125 guests to serve dessert before the speeches portion of our event. We had a big line of guests lined up at the dessert table when I noticed there were no dessert plates set out. I found the "Event Captain" Leandra Bautista & pointed that out but she said she could not put out any plates. I honestly thought it was a joke at first, but she just looked at me straight in the face and refused saying it was the responsibility of the bakery "I Do Wedding Cakes" In Morgan Hill that we (and Eagle Ridge) had subcontracted with to provide the Dessert Buffet with (something that is done often & is offered as part of their dessert buffet option). She said that she could give us napkins instead. In retrospect I wish I had demanded to see a manager, but we it was a chaotic evening & we had 25 speeches we needed to get through before our event ended, so we took the napkins and just got on with the evening. After speeches were over & everyone had served themselves dessert (on napkins) & many of them had left the venue, this "Event Captain" told me she put out plates and was sorry or the "misunderstanding". It was already too late. What also bothered me a LOT was that I wrote an email to our Event Coordinator the following Monday asking how such a botch up could have happened & telling them that IF it was the case that the bakery should provide the dessert plates, measures should be in place to ensure that plates are dropped off. It was the manager - Kari Moreno who wrote back to me but she took no responsibility - she just said " Thank you for sending the time to send this email. We always welcome feedback to better ourselves and it is greatly appreciated." Only when I checked with the bakery & and they told me that they NEVER provide the dessert plates & it is in our contract with Eagle Ridge that they provide all the plates did I become really angry. It become clear to me that the "Event Captain" did not know what she was doing & clearly did not care. It was such a sloppy handing of the matter all around. I will also say that of the 2 Event Coordinators - Monica is great. We worked with her for most of planning and she was always on top of everything - responding to emails quickly and never missing any of the fine details. The other Event Coordinator Brittany, was very rude to us a week before our event, while she was with other clients, when we were testing our projector screen a week before our event. We had permission from Monica to be there but she spoke to us in such a rude manner, telling us we had no permission to be on site. Everyone with me was so taken aback by the manner in which she spoke to us. Another thing to be aware of & that caught us off guard is that you only have one hour set up time before your event. We were not expecting that at all. For events such as ours, starting at at 4:30 PM we thought we would have the morning to set up our event space. We did not expect to have any staff of theirs on site, but we just wanted to do the set up ourselves (we did not have event planners), but they refused to let us on site until an hour before our event, even for photos, unless we paid for that extra time. A day before the event, they offered to give us an extra hour to set up, but to be honest most of our helpers could not arrive early with a day's notice and so the extra hour did not help us much at that point. I will end my review on a positive note - the grounds themselves are beautiful & DJ Brian was very helpful and did a great job. The ballroom itself is a little difficult to work with as it is not your traditional layout. We had to get creative & we used 2 projector screens to ensure everyone could see our slideshows during the speeches portion of our event, but in the end we made it work. I hope that Eagle Ridge can figure out what went wrong on the night of our event & ensure it does not happen again as no venue should EVER refuse to put out plates for customers. Even if it was the bakery's responsibility to proved dessert plates (which it was NOT) the right thing for any venue is to provide the plates and charge us for washing them (what price do you put on that?) or even better, just do the right thing and just let guests enjoy their evening and put out complimentary 125 dessert plates. Clearly their event staff needs to be better trained & should want to make customers happy. read more

Jennifer was our day of coordinator and she did an amazing job getting everything lined up for us to ensure everything ran smoothly! Booking with Wedgewood was probably the best decision we were able to make in the wedding planning process. From the beginning, we fell in love with the venue and just knew our friends and family would love it. On top of that, the team helped us plan our wedding every step of the way and made the process super stress-free! (seriously, my friends who have gotten married kept asking me why I seemed so calm and relaxed through the planning process lol). They worked with our vision and gave us all wonderful recommendations and options, encouraging us in all of our decisions. On the day of, the only thing that didn't go according to plan was the weather - we were a bit bummed to not use their beautiful outdoor ceremony garden, but they still made our ceremony absolutely perfect inside. This is now a very minor detail to me when I reminisce. They are very flexible, you can remove anything not needed and add other things onto your package. The team is very responsive and kind. This was one of the first wedding venues I looked into when I was getting married. I've come here a few times for work events and always thought it looked nice, but it's the little things that made us decide against this place. We wanted a big spring wedding so I know that comes with a big price but I feel like they are nickel and diming you for everything. For example, do you want some colored floor lights to match your wedding color, that's a few hundred dollars extra and we can only have one color. The dining room and dance floor are also visibly run down. There are cobwebs and dust throughout the entire space. The worst part about this venue is the ceremony location. It's literally next to the parking lot. I'm sorry, but with all of the money I'm spending on my wedding I do not want to be standing at the alter looking down at the parking lot. read more

I cannot express how grateful my husband and I are for the experience that we had at Eagle Ridge by Wedgewood. Starting with our very first visit, touring the venue. I had originally had 3 different venues that I was scheduled to see and when I toured Eagle Ridge, I just knew that this was the place for us. It is absolutely beautiful. Priscilla and Jennifer were so professional and so very kind, making sure to answer all of my questions and assuring me that their mission was to make our experience as smooth as possible with zero stress. Mission accomplished!! Every little detail, phone appointments, payment options and everything in between was convenient. The food was delicious, DJ Brian was perfect and really made the wedding fun. Priscilla made sure that our timeline was smooth and on time and made sure everyone knew exactly where they needed to be, for those that weren't able to make the rehearsal. Well, to start off my husband and I had a unique situation for our wedding day. My husband broke his leg a month before our wedding, so I mentioned to the Wedgewood Team at Eagle Ridge what happened and that he will be going back and forth between his walker and wheelchair throughout the day. They were absolutely understanding and did everything that they could to make this day accommodating for the both of us. Team members Brittany and Mailani have been helping us with all the details, our questions and concerns since day one of booking. They've always been extremely attentive with emails and upcoming appointments. As for the day of the wedding, it was absolutely perfect! Our photographers Maria & Eric were so incredibly sweet & experienced. Every time my husband Jonathan needed a break from pictures to rest his leg they were patient and understanding. The manager Carrie, I met the day of our wedding and she was just charming. She helped me with my bustle because it kept getting undone during the reception. Our DJ Brian was a delight! Great person and extremely talented. Florist, "Flower Divas" and Cake Vendor, "I Do Wedding Cakes" were amazing and everything came out just how I imagined it plus more! We had our wedding at Eagle Ridge by Wedgewood in July 2023. We decided in January 2023 that we wanted to get married on a very specific day in July. Eagle Ridge was super responsive and helpful throughout the very short 6 months of planning. This venue is all-inclusive, which was a big bonus for us as parents of a toddler. When we had a family tragedy happen in the middle of planning, the ladies (especially the lovely and extremely helpful Priscilla) ensured us that we would still have time to plan our perfect day and helped us with any questions or concerns we had. The day of our wedding was 6-11pm, we were able to arrive an hour and a half early before the ceremony. The only thing I regret is not extending our time frame because it truly flew by! The venue itself is simple, beautiful and elegant. The cake vendor, "I Do " Wedding Cakes - was so delicious, we were able to take the leftover cake home and enjoyed it at home. The flower vendor provided beautiful but small centerpieces (you are able to upgrade for a cost). The food was delicious and something our guests raved about for days. This was the perfect venue!! We had such a great time at our wedding! The team was extremely professional and always on their toes to deal with anything! We got some rain in the middle of our ceremony and the team held tight until I decided to move inside. This review is long overdue... we finally said "I do" to each other at this magical place on 04/07/21! Our plans changed a lot for different circumstances but when I learned about Wedgewood venues, I had to research more for myself. Location- it's nearby and guests didn't have to trouble far or invest in hotel lodging (unless they wanted to) Customer service- if I could give more than 5 stars, trust me I would give it 10! We decided on the classic package, it was perfect for us because it included what we cared about and didn't have to worry about finding qualified staff / vendors for set-up, tear down, food, bar, florists, baker, officiant, DJ, day of Coordinator, rehearsal Coordinator, I can go on... everyone played a huge part in our special day! We had access to a bridal suite and groom suite, great for pictures. There's a list of where you can and cannot be for photography/ videography. The entire venue from pre booking to our appointments and venue was meticulously clean, sanitized areas, and staff always wore masks and followed social distance guidelines. Mailani was our coordinator and the main person I worked with. She was fantastic every stage of our wedding. Daisy was my banquet captain (after ceremony) Daisy always kept checking in on us and our guests. Everyone that helped with our food/bar on our day were professional, friendly, helpful and greeted all of us with a big smile. We all felt like VIP's. As husband and wife, we even received each a signature drink of our choice. We also enjoyed eating our two tier birch cake. Debbie was wonderful to work with. Bakery is in Morgan Hill. We couldn't sample anything due to covid but she gave us four small pieces of different cakes for us to try at home and decide on flavors and fillings. Debbie was amazing! Since we had the cake as part of our added item to our package, we got to rent and select a cake stand. Debbie has many options and for additional cost she has additional flavors and fillings. Our florist Amy I didn't get to meet in person but she was great to work with via phone and email. Our theme was rustic/ spring country. We got married the week of spring break and I loved the touches on that Amy added. Flower centerpieces, arbor draping and flowers were added to our package. I added flowers and greenery to our cake table, reception sign in table and to tie around the cocktail tables at a great price! While the flowers from the arbor (above the lanterns) didn't get relocated, everything looked as beautiful as I envisioned. We had a phone consultation and he really took the time to get to know us to bring our personal touches to our wedding vows. We had a memorial candle that he led during our ceremony and our entire ceremony was beyond memorable. Steve was funny, kind, easy to talk to and plain professional- he has been an officiant for a long time! The bonus, he mails your marriage license. - tip - make sure to bring your check and marriage certificate order application ready so Steve can mail together. It is hard to get a hold of him by email but he officiates many weddings so it's completely understandable. Thank you! Our DJ/ MC was Brian and this was part of our package. Brian was fast at responding to emails and texts, we had main consultation to review our music sheet and he also took the time to get to know what our vision was. We all had fun listening to the music, we danced a little but Brian went beyond by checking on us and following up with other staff when I had questions that weren't music related like getting our S'mores station (we added this) and our early exit send off. Brian also went to get Mailani when my friends couldn't figure out my bustle, for all the attention we thank you! We had less than 30 guests (including my husband and myself) it was perfect! We got married fast so from booking time to our wedding because it was less than 4 months, we got a promotional discount. To save more, we got married on a Wednesday. Customize it your way! The best part is they are flexible and you have time (within their contract time limits) to add, remove items as long as you meet the minimum. Jennifer and Priscilla were a pleasure to work with. Their communication throughout this planning process was excellent and made planning more easy. All of the vendors, the DJ, cake maker, florist, Photo Booth attendant executed my vision perfectly! Everything turned out wonderfully. And they were so friendly. My entire family loved the wedding and those who couldn't make it say they regret it. All inclusive was the best way to go. Day of coordinator Melissa was great. This venue is just so pretty. The only thing I wish could have been done differently was having the food out longer than 90 minutes. I'm sure a lot of food was left over that unfortunately was unable to be taken home. Me and my husband barely had appetite to eat due to the excitement. After dancing we were hungry but meal service was over. There was the option to add on late night snacks but we didn't want to spend more money. We did appreciate being able to bring our own cultural foods! Our guests loved it. Just got married here barely a few days ago and I want to say that it was such a great experience that I had to share about it. Eagle Ridge was easily our first choice of venues when we were trying to find one back in 2019. We were impressed with everything that you could get from the different packages and it was easy for them to take things out and add things in as needed. The ceremony site itself with the big arch is beautiful and I really wanted to dance on the dancefloor that they had indoors. The reception indoor area is shaped like a Y (and although it was a strange shape, we didn't really have any problems with envisioning what everything would look like). I loved how Wedgewood has vendors that you can add to your package (and relatively quickly!). They are very knowledgeable of Eagle Ridge already and have worked with each other which made coordination even easier (as though it was not already easy since the team at Eagle Ridge were excellent on the big day and I did not have to worry about anything at all). Everything went very smooth on the day of and we had plenty of time to spare for all of the activities. Go for Espresso Joe, his waffles were totally worth it and the warm drinks on the cold February day saved the day! The staff were extremely cautious with proper personal protective equipment. We still were able to have our breakfast buffet, but the staff served us and we were allowed six people to a table with an actual seating chart and contact tracing for the County. Be aware that 7 tables seems to be the best number, as we had 8 and the 8th table had to sit around the corner out of view. Though our guests were still happy to be there, we were sad that we couldn't see them from our sweet heart table. We ended up with 47 people from our original number of 175 due to the pandemic, but the staff were understanding and the Wi-Fi worked well when we set up a virtual room for people who could not be there to watch the ceremony. The only little issue that I had was the golf club patrons would walk through the reception area (since it's on the patio), but that's more to say on the rudeness of those people and not the staff itself. They blocked off the patio with nice dividers and posted a sign to let them know it was a private event. In addition, it was cold (as expected) during the reception since the patio is on the other side where the sun does not hit directly during the morning. They do not have heat lamps, so people needed to bundle up. Pros: Lots of mix and match packages for a reasonable price. The coordinators were great and worked with us throughout the entire year to make sure that all our questions were answered. No stress! The ceremony site and golf course is beautiful. Cons: 8 tables might be too much on the patio if you want to see all your guests from the sweet heart table. Patrons of the golf club did not respect that there was a wedding going on. read more

I got married at Eagle Ridge in June 2024! It is such a stunning venue and had the most beautiful views! The whole team was amazing and really took the time to make sure I was happy with everything, but more specifically I am so grateful for Jennifer and Priscilla! Those two girls were so helpful in terms of helping me plan my wedding, so I knew my wedding day would be in safe hands! As a bride who was going to school, working part time, and also trying to plan a wedding, I was so grateful that Eagle Ridge by Wedgewood Weddings already had vendors that were ready to help me make my wedding dreams come true! It was such a life saver for me, and I couldn't have been more happy with how my wedding day came out! I have to say, the bar at Eagle Ridge is SOOOOOOO amazing! I was so impressed that my husband and I were allowed to have signature drinks, and let me tell you something: those were the BEST drinks I've ever had in my life! They made our drinks SOOOOOO perfectly, all our guests were so impressed! I highly recommend Eagle Ridge, it is the most dreamy and beautiful venue with the most amazing, attentive team. You won't regret it at all, I promise you! Some minor but important notes for future Eagle Ridge brides: I wish that the bride and groom getting ready rooms were available for the entire wedding day. The bridal suite is spacious and would be a great spot for everyone to get ready together, however you won't be able to use it until about an hour before your Ceremony time. Because you are only able to use it once the hour mark hits, the getting ready room really only serves to store your stuff (which is still a great help, but would be better if you could actually use it for its purpose of getting ready). It does get very hot in the reception hall if you choose to upgrade the walls with drapery, so I would recommend opening the doors in the reception hall to let the stuffy, hot air out. Or, you should try asking the venue if you can turn the AC up in the reception hall to counter how stuffy it gets in there. If you are not upgrading to drapery on the walls, you shouldn't have to worry too much about the reception hall feeling hot and stuffy. Lastly, I would highly recommend that you go to the vendor event that Eagle Ridge hosts for you to try the food and meet the vendors. Unfortunately, me and my husband work most weekends and couldn't try the food because Eagle Ridge only hosts 2 or 3 of these events where you can try the food , so we chose our food options blindly. We weren't the biggest fan of the steak, but all the other food options were AMAZING so I would definitely make sure to go to their vendor fair to try out the foods! read more

My husband and I got married here on August 4th, 2021. Here's our experience! Wedgewood: I am soooo glad we went with Wedgewood and the all-inclusive route. Packaging everything together made our lives and planning SO much easier. It helped us keep track of payments and deadlines. I would recommend this way to everyone and anyone. We got married on a Wednesday so we got everything we wanted at a reasonable price! Venue: The venue is really easy to get to and parking is great. A few of our guests left their cars there overnight and came back the next morning and they were totally fine. People will golf while you're having your wedding but they're far away enough where you won't hear them and there are no flying balls to ruin your ceremony. The inside is very versatile. They can make it bigger for a large crowd or size it down to make it more intimate depending on your wedding size. I love the fireplace and twinkle lights they have up all year long. Guests are also allowed to stand on the balcony part. We had corn hole, giant Jenga, and a cigar area outside. Wedding planner: We had Kari. Kari was a LIFE SAVER during our wedding!! We had a slip up with numbers for boutonnières and we were down two. Kari said, "say no more" and worked her magic. She used our centerpieces to create two more boutonnières and you could never tell they were made in 30 seconds. Plus our centerpieces looked untouched! We also had a wine incident with the mother of the groom and before I even knew, Kari had already used club soda and water and got the red wine completely out of her light blue dress. Staff: Our DJ and officiant were amazing and they fit our vibe perfectly. The bartenders were friendly and helped us look out for those guests who liked to drink a little too much. The ONLY hiccup we had was with our florist, who was included in our package. She decided to quit and move across country 3 weeks before our wedding. Normally, this would be a bride's worst nightmare but the Wedgewood team replaced her with someone better before I even knew what was happening! Again, the perks of doing an all-inclusive wedding!! My husband and I got married here May 2023. The venue was gorgeous, well maintained and our guests loved it! Our DJ, Brian LaPlace, did a fantastic job meeting our very particular requests of having an unique reception entrance and even letting our Best Man sing during my aisle walk. The staff at Wedgewood were quick to answer emails and phone calls during the process. Our day of coordinator, Jennifer, was the best! She took care of my every needs and even stepped in and helped wherever she could. Other honorable mentions who helped us during the process were Brittany, Monica & Priscilla! The bridal suite had recently gone through renovations so we were also lucky to use the new suite. There were minor changes we would have liked but know it's due to the Wedgewood Wedding process but we wish there was a more formal tasting event rather than the expo event. We also wish there was more offered through the bar, it also seemed later in the night during the reception our coordinator stepped in for the bartender and I was a little confused since she was switching between bar and photo booth. We also brought in a LOT of DIY projects and the event staff did a fantastic job taking everything into account and setting it up for us, we are so beyond grateful! Overall, the experience was everything we dreamt of and the day turned out beautiful. The real reason we picked Eagle Ridge compared to the other wedgewood venues nearby was the beautiful venue but particularly the event staff who did not pressure us one way or the other.
