THEN WHY DID HE NOT DO IT HIMSELF IF HE HAD THAT KIND OF TIME I HAD NOT GIVEN PERSMIISION FOR ANHYONE ELSE TO DO THE SUGERY. I went back again I said my cat is not well, They said she won't have to eat or drink water for three days NOT TRUE one of the vet assistance was like a mad dog ( I love dogs but this was nuts) staring me down there to protect her and agreed. At three am my cat was drinking tons of water I rushed her to emergency where the doctor said she had almost no electro lites and was trying to supply them by drinking she could not! she was on deaths door. She said did they not give her an IV this was wrong who monitored this cat? Mountainview said no problem! Made us an appointment to get him in right away, and I thanked them so much for getting us in on short notice. Day of his appointment, I packed up my kids and my 22 year old cat who was just diagnosed with hypertension at the emergency vet after a blood vessel burst in his eye. Arrived 20 minutes before our appointment time to find a sign on the door saying they were closed due to staffing issues. I was in shock. I had told them on the phone how critical it was to get my cat in somewhere ASAP due to the small amount of BP pills we were given at the ER vet!!! And how I was so grateful they got us in due to that fact! The sign said they had made every attempt to contact everyone that they would be closed, but I did not receive any notice whatsoever!!! I double and triple checked my land line, answering machine, cell phone, email, and text messages, and there was nothing. They left me scrambling to try to find another vet that could do blood pressures on a cat and get in for an appointment with only 1 day left of life saving critical medication for our cat. I left them a phone message asking what happened! Why would they not notify me, especially in as dire situation as we were in?! I never heard back. No response. Ever. It was a miracle West Main took pity on me and got him in the next day, as we were going to run out of meds, and refilled it for us. They are our new 2nd vet now. Absolutely appalling treatment of what was going to be a new patient for them with a hobby farm full of animals.

My 10 year old cat received an injection of Solensia for her osteoarthritis from a different vet…read moreclinic and had a number of serious adverse reactions. 3 months later she was completely lame in her hind legs so I brought her to Siskiyou Veterinary Hospital to see if they could diagnose and help her. Dr Debby was the doctor I saw. She examined my cat and felt her hind legs. I could tell that she felt something concerning on her right hip and she ordered radiographs for her. When she came back with the radiographs I knew from her eyes it was not good news. She broke the news to me ever so gently and showed me the 4" tumor on my cat's hip. I asked her how long my cat might have in the best case and she said only a few weeks with pain management. She was in so much pain that I elected to have her euthanized right there. Dr Debby was so kind and compassionate as I shed tears for my beloved soul kitty. She got me a box of tissues and told me I could have as much time as I needed with my cat. After she came back with the vet tech and gave her the injection to put her to sleep, she quietly left the room and allowed me to be there with my cat to grieve as long as I wanted. She told me I could just leave and walk out when I was done and didn't have to stop by the front desk. The vet tech was similarly kind and compassionate. I've seen enough vet doctors who lack compassion that Dr Debby's sensitivity and kindness meant the world to me. The memory of saying goodbye to my soul kitty will always be with me and with her quiet kindness and thoughtfulness, Dr Debby has made that memory far more bearable than if I'd had to deal with one of the other vets I've seen in the past. I am forever grateful for this. I don't know how the rest of the doctors here are, but I'm already planning to take my other cat to Dr Debby when it's time for her next vet visit.

She waited until she was almost through with the exam to tell me that their bloodwork lab was down and couldn't provide immediate results. I would have taken him elsewhere if anybody had bothered to tell me this when I made the appointment. She promised to call on Monday. On Monday morning she called to tell me she would have to call on Tuesday instead, no explanation offered. On Tuesday she flaked out completely. On Wednesday she called and told me had to come in immediately because he had peritonitis, a disease that is fatal if not immediately treated. She also pretended that the lab was responsible for the delay even though I know the analysis was on their office computer the day before because a secretary told me when I went down there to find out where the hell she was. She'd left the office for two days without telling me. They mis-filled his prescription, giving me medication meant only for dogs and half the syringes of painkiller he was intended to take. They charged me $65 for a sugar packet's worth of ointment that was supposed to increase his appetite and didn't. None of this worked. It was too late. It was going to cost thousands of dollars to put him into emergency care. He might have made it if they were on the ball. I had to pay about $1800 for this "care." My cat was a dear friend. When I picked up his ashes, the cremation service included some ridiculous "poem" about how I was going to meet my cat on "The Rainbow Bridge" after I died and we would be reunited. Like I'm a toddler. They sent me a "We'd Love Your Feedback" email and when I wrote down the whole sordid tale I included my email address in case they wanted to talk about it. No word from them since then.

Our most recent visit was unplanned and I felt it was emergent. I loaded my fur baby into the car and headed straight to the office. I was expecting the worst case scenario, but hoping for the best. Dakota (Front Desk Coordinator/ Miracle Worker) has been consistently kind, compassionate and always upbeat and welcoming over the years. This visit was no different. Dakota is very calming and compassionate. Even though it was an extremely busy day of surgeries and scheduled appointments, Dakota managed to plea on our behalf and was able to fit us in for a "drop off appointment" for just $70 (NOTE: This is extremely generous considering the circumstances; about the same a the cost of an annual exam). I agreed to the necessary x-rays and signed off on the quoted range for what was the best case scenerio: Two x-rays + the medication/procedure to induce vomiting (I recall it being a range of $323-$520 something) *fingers crossed* Even with such a tight schedule, Dr. Glenn Winters himself called me within ~1hr and told me the "good news". My pup did not swallow an object as I suspected, but rather had a case of "Dog colitis". l had to look it up. Dr. Winters is very confident that they only needed to take a single x-ray and my pup needed 2 medications to soothe the inflammation of his bowels; I was able to pick him up and take him home right away. I was hopeful, yet skeptical that the severe symptoms (sudden blood coming out of rear, some vomiting, no eating for 24hrs, becoming lethargic) were so easily diagnosed. Dr. Winters did not require blood work, no extensive lab panel(s), no overnight fees, no extra fee-fee, very straight forward. The final bill was MUCH LESS than originally estimated. He was exactly right on the diagnosis. Damn, this Dr. has a real gift when it comes to animals. This place Under promises and OVER DELIVERS each and every time. 10/10. 5-stars for Yelp, but when a place is consistently 5-stars, you just hafta give them proper credit. I picked my pup up right away, I brought him home and force fed him his 2 pills and watched him like a hawk for the rest of the day. There has been an almost immediate improvement in his condition after administering the 1st doses. Wow, just wow. Thank goodness for Dr. Winters, I honestly don't know what I'd do without his EXPERTISE :D
