Wow- I had a excellent first time here last year 2024. This year April 2025 the amount of balls dropped were silly and scary. Appointment made- didn't tell me till I called and was advised that my appointment was actually a phone appointment and not an in person appointment. Didn't tell me I had to drop my paperwork off in advance either. April 15 I get a call saying did you sign your paperwork....mind you they never sent me anything to sign so signing it at the 12th hour on the day taxes have to be submitted. I am actually going to pay another tax person who had done my taxes for two decades to check their work cause I just feel like we aren't up to par like we were last year . I don't like giving businesses bad reviews, but this place really messed up my taxes for 2018... when Manuel Gonzales was there, he would always double check numbers for me and do a legitimate job of explaining everything to me clearly before submitting them. So back in the 90's I was referred to Manuel. Great guy of knowledge. As time went on I had to see someone else because of geographics. I came back to his offices years later and wish I would have just made it work to stay with them. I now work with Rebecca who is a rockstar as well. We did some back taxes and I actually received money back. Yes, they get busy. Yes, they may drop the ball due to various reasons. But who doesn't!!! I went there over two months ago. Figured I would get a good early start. After my visit I had to send over more paperwork. No problem there. Followed up countless times and still my taxes haven't been filed. I would give them five stars for knowing how to give you the run around. My entire family has received tax returns but yet I have nothing. Manuel is really nice but theres something else going on and I think he should look into it. This place is a f**king joke. They lost my transcripts! They are completely unorganized. I would stay away from these guys. They will also schedule an appointment with you and make you wait in their lobby like you don't have anything better to do. They are extremely unprofessional. read more

Stay away from this place. I booked an appointment few weeks ago to do my tax return on March 11th (NOT the rush time of April 15th). They called me two days before the appointment and asked me to arrive 20 minutes before the appointment. We actually arrived half an hour before my appointment. They received my documents and said they would input it to their system, then will send me to my CPA Mark to do the preparation/filing. I waited for one hour and half, and they didn't call me in. I complained multiple times to the receptionist, and every time she said, you need to wait till your data is ready. They even didn't bother to apologize for it. After one hour and a half, I decided to leave, and asked for my documents. Mark came out of his office, and (without apologizing) told me that I had to give them my documents 5 days in advance. If you really need 5 days to prepare a standard salary-based employee of a corporate company in silicon valley, YOU NEED TO CHANGE YOUR JOB. So, they probably need a month of preparation for a self-employed person. read more

We have been going to Manuel for 10yrs, and very happy with his service, it's just now that he has a lot of staff, I would think there wouldn't be any problem, NOT. It's been 2 month since I went to Manuel, but just found out a month ago that my tax was not filed, a month later still not filed. What a disappointment, If I didn't to get an update regarding my tax return, I wouldn't find out that my tax return was not file. My family has been utilizing Manuel's services for many years now. And I think Manuel himself is probably knowledgeable/skilled in what he does. However, I was so disappointed with how his staff handled the IRS letter I received last year, not being able to figure out where they got a particular figure from even after I had given them an e-mail that had showed that I did not know of a figure to give them for that particular item. Manuel was ultimately able to figure it out but I never received an apology for the way things were handled. This year, to top it off one of my family members had turned her items into them in February but her taxes were still not done the week they were due and was told that she would be charged $500 for one W-2 from her employer + income from rental property so she ended up doing it herself with Turbo Tax. And mine were also not done even though I had turned my items in early March - mine was done late with the extension. Both of us continued experience this need to continue to follow up to make sure progress was being made whenever work was requested, which we feel like shouldn't be the case (ie. another e-mail or a phone call is usually needed to follow up to make sure the previous e-mail was recieved, etc.) When I made an appointment to see someone there last year for consultation on opening a retirement account I waited for over an hour in the waiting room past the appointment time.... The impression we get is that they have taken on way too many people than they can handle. read more

LOVE Rebecca, she is fantastic and has a ton of knowledge to help her clients. However, the office staff is horrid. Sent 4 e-mails one on the day of my tax appointment with information Rebecca needed to finish my taxes. She never received the info from her staff, for over a month. I had to keep calling to find out the status of my taxes, and was told on three separate occasions someone would call me back and they never did. I have been going to Rebecca for years but because of the way things were handled this year I'm not sure I will be going back to her next year. It is now the end of March and I still don't have my taxes back and my appointment was mid-February. read more

Besides lagging on finishing them by the due date of 4.15, Manuel decides to take a "last minute" two week vacation without having anyone to take care of his business. I was referred to Manuel in 2003 and have been a client ever since. During the first 20 mins. of my first appointment with him I learned more about taxes in general and my tax situation in particular than I had in the 25 plus years I had been a tax payer.
