Last June, I paid a bill in full for Pitney Bowes. Yet, MB&W keep harassing me by sending and threatening letters. I have written and called MB&W numerous times to no avail. I just called and spoke with a rep named Sunday West. Sunday they closed my account months ago because of a cease & desist letter. Sunday said they have no record that I paid the bill. I said I have proof of payment, among other things. I said: You did not close the account because I just received another letter from you dated November 16th! Sunday did not care nor would she help me resolve this issue. She incessantly, loudly & rudely talked over me. She did not want to see my proof of payment. I asked if the company reported this account to a credit bureau. Sunday said the company does not report to credit agencies. Really? Sunday is full of misinformation, so I should believe this?? They have sent me multiple notices in the mail for collections for an account that opened fraudulently in my name due to identity left, yet I've tried to call them for WEEKS, left 10 voicemails, written multiple emails, and I NEVER hear back. My daughter recently received a letter from these people informing her of a dubious debt that they said she owed. Within a day of my daughter's receipt of that letter, she requested by USPS certified letter their validation of that debt. Our letter was mailed to the address shown in the original letter but it was returned to her as "No Such Address." We have checked our letter against the address given in McCarthy, Burgess & Wolff's letter and it is the very same. If we actually get a court summons from these people, and they do not illegally forge my daughter's signature on the court summons thus not allowing her to know of the court date, we plan to hand the judge the returned letter of validation. We also plan to review online court records daily so we can know of any suits filed against her with illegally obtained summons. Somehow, the next day, I got an email saying that the money was being refunded for some reason. After an unsatisfactory experience with the Berry Company which does the advertising for the Hawaiian Tel com Yellow Pages in our city, our account went to McCarthy Burgess & Wolff which is a collection agency. This happened without warning and without our knowledge. We started to receive calls from this agency regarding an amount of money seemingly owed to The Berry Company. My advice: when you truly feel you are right do not give in to a collection agency. At the same time you cannot ignore them as this usually does not work. Take my advice and hire a lawyer! They will explain your rights and negotiate a settlement that is in your interest. Again, do not waste any time talking to any collection agency as their are expert negotiators. By getting legal counsel, we saved time and money and now the case is closed. I'm getting calls for some purchase I made. The message says that the call is for 'debt collection'. I know nothing of this purchase. And, this can't possibly be true for one simple reason: I write every purchase I make using my Credit cards. I monitor every credit card statement (that it matches my list!). And, I pay off my credit cards. In time. No interests. I don't use my debit cards - at all! So, what is this about? Hence, my 'googling' this company. I worked for this company, it was the worse experience ever. The management team are racist. If you are late for work, breaks or lunches the company deducts 3 minutes from your pay for every minute you are late. If you should earn a bonus for the month, the company will do ever thing in there power to reduce the amount of your bonus such as deducting funds if you miss time from work, they reduce funds if they decide you did not meet compliance on a call (compliance is based on the opinion of the individual reviewing the call, there are no call qualifications). There are no cost of living raises or yearly raises (whatever the starting salaries, it remains the entire time you are employed with the company. There is never any heat or hot water in the building. It is always cold, winter, summer and fall. The training process is a joke (the individual providing training never reached the company set monthly goal (how can he train you if he does not know how to collect from consumers). This company started contacting us on behalf of their client Dex one concerning a advertisement in the phone book yellow pages. While we have been cooperative so far, The Dex One Collection Representative I spoke to took what I believed to be a payment agreement and I received a letter stating the payments entered into the system. Well I missed one month of a payment and I called her a few days after and asked the collection rep with Dex one to call me she never called me and next thing I know I was getting a call From McCarthy Burgess & Wolff, Now to make it perfectly clear so McCarthy Burgess & Wolf doesn't start stating I falsely represented the information, they informed that a payment agreement was never taken in the system. Upon review of the notes in Dex's one system(Yes McCarthy burgess & Wolff has access to that system) stated Per myself that a payment each month would be sent but no payment agreements were on file We are trying to work something out with this situation and to reach a agreement but we have not committed to anything yet with this McCarthy Burgess & Wolff, again like the previous review the only warning I got was a phone call to which I took actions and made what I though was payment arrangements with dex to avoid this. But as stated the next month the bill was sent to this Company which has been trying to settle the debt to which I might note with tones in their voice which I do not approve of personally.
