During the pandemic when they had a huge increase in people getting their taxes done. I dropped off my paperwork in February and called and stopped in to see when it would be completed the closer it got to tax day. A very rude younger man would not give me any answers. He caused me so much anxiety. He just refused to give me a completion date or tell me why it was taking so long. I eventually was called the day before tax day. I decided to give them another chance. I've been happy with the service once again. If I see this person sitting off to the right in front I just avoid him. The rest of the staff is wonderful including the owner. Somehow my state got rejected and we found out someone had fraudulently filled my taxes and had them sent to an Emerald Card. After research we find out that I have to complete an identity theft affidavit and send everything in to the Ohio Department of Taxation. The tax preparation said they would submit a request for fee refund due to the mix-up and inconvenience. I call the state to check on the status of my return only to find out it was never mailed in. After not hearing from them I return to the office and Mark the manager would not even take the time to come out to speak he. He sent a message by the receptionist that he submitted the request and it was out of his hands. Two months later, still nothing. I call corporate who refers me to the district manager who then passes me to a manager in a year round office. She assured me she would take care of it. 4 months later and she will not respond to an email or phone call. At this point, to he customer service at H and R Block is HORRIBLE, from corporate all the way down to the local office. I'll never go back and definitely won't refer anyone there.
