My father has been there 22 times in the last year and hes still going strong at 92 thanks to this hospital. Having said that there seems to be too many chiefs n not enough Indians. Nobody seems to know what the other is doing or has done, never see the same doctor so you hear repeats and totally conflicting reports. Toilets are kept clrean but an ocean of stinky cigarettes greet you at the entrance. In the world of the tumbled down decrepid national health I would say this place was fair to middling!

I'm not going to comment about individual services - with the NHS it can be entirely down to who you are due to see, about what and when. So, instead I'll concentrate on the facilities available and access: The hospital is served by at least 5 buses, but only the 261 and R1 actually enter the grounds. Most ward visiting hours tend to be 2-4pm and 6-8pm, though the nursing staff are pretty flexible if you give 'em advance warning. Visitors are pretty well catered for: there is a coffee bar and restaurant open during daytime hours, a newsagent which stays open longer and various vending machines. Tip: Finding a parking space at peak times is enough to give you a coronary however (as do the charges), so I recommend using the Sainsbury's car park next door. The hospital is pretty quick to get to from most places, as it is on the A21.

I was also worried about my unborn child. The dr that I saw was so pantronising. And spoke down to me as thou I had wasted her time, and was suggested that my pain was just due to growing pains! Please I dont choose to want to sit for two hours on my only day off to be told this. It turned out that I had uti. I asked the dr if she could check the baby's heartbeat as I was concerned she advised that they didn't offer this service due to patient misuse (which she was directing at me)!!! I have worked for the NHS for 18 years. And have never been so disappointed with the service.

On arrival by ambulance I was immediately taken to triage and passed through the various departments with total efficiency. I say efficiency but this doesn't lose the fact that there was a lot of joking banter and friendliness with the total professionalism of all the staff. I cannot speak highly enough of all the nurses and doctors in A & E. Thank you guys for making this traumatic experience a lot easier to accept.

999 brought an ambulance with two amazing young medics to our door who spent considerable time over…read moreblood tests and ECG, liaising with central over unusual features, then took me to the hospital, returning once (not too far luckily) because I had left home with my disabled wife's phone. I was quickly allocated a bed and assured I was well away from Covid area. Seen by several nurses and doctors including a CAT scan and allowed to go home after maybe 6 hrs max. Everyone so pleasant, efficient whilst remaining friendly and approachable, explaining all procedures in advance, and appearing to be one happy high efficiency team all working as one.

Just a quick visit here to pick up some results…read more Whilst I had an evening appointment (after 6pm) this hospital was pretty busy for this appointment time. The hospital seems to be in the middle of no-where. It was dark and I was driving but it didn't feel like there was a close station. There is parking on site and this hospital has a nice remote, green setting. As I say, it was a busy time by all accounts. i did have to wait for my appointment, not sure what the delay was. Staff whom I met were polite and there was the availabilty of free beverages to be had. Waiting area was clean and comfortable and free wifi available.

Would definitely recommend to anyone requiring treatment. A* stay, staff, food, care, friendliness, room, - everything. Even received a call a few days after by one of the nurses to check how I was feeling. Normally hospitals say they will do this but never actually do - once your gone, your gone!
