I'm not going to comment about individual services - with the NHS it can be entirely down to who you are due to see, about what and when. So, instead I'll concentrate on the facilities available and access: The hospital is served by at least 5 buses, but only the 261 and R1 actually enter the grounds. Most ward visiting hours tend to be 2-4pm and 6-8pm, though the nursing staff are pretty flexible if you give 'em advance warning. Visitors are pretty well catered for: there is a coffee bar and restaurant open during daytime hours, a newsagent which stays open longer and various vending machines. Tip: Finding a parking space at peak times is enough to give you a coronary however (as do the charges), so I recommend using the Sainsbury's car park next door. The hospital is pretty quick to get to from most places, as it is on the A21.

Poor service. I…read morewent to the urgent care centre and was very disappointed with the service I'm 17th weeks pregnant and was experiencing a lot of pain and feeling generally unwell. I was also worried about my unborn child. The dr that I saw was so pantronising. And spoke down to me as thou I had wasted her time, and was suggested that my pain was just due to growing pains! Please I dont choose to want to sit for two hours on my only day off to be told this. It turned out that I had uti. I asked the dr if she could check the baby's heartbeat as I was concerned she advised that they didn't offer this service due to patient misuse (which she was directing at me)!!! I have worked for the NHS for 18 years. And have never been so disappointed with the service.

My consultant was friendly and efficent and subsequent consultation/treatment was quickly booked in without any problems and follow up dates booked without delays. Having returned for the scan, again this was quick and friendly service. Think there could either be the offer of some slippers and you need to go from the changing room to the area where the scans take place and in winter it's a little chilly. Hotel is clean and meets expectations of a private hospital. Small area at the rear of the building where you will find free parking.

The Nurse, on time, took me to my room for the day and went through the comprehensive, but essential paperwork. Once completed, test readings were taken. The Anaesthetist explained his procedures in a concise, understandable dialogue. I was requested to change into the medical apparel. Mr. Mohamed then explained the surgical procedure and requested acceptance signatures. I was taken to the Operating Theatre, where all medical and personal information was confirmed. I then woke up in the recovery room and welcomed back by the staff, then taken to my room. After resting, I enjoyed lunch then rested to late afternoon, where my wife collected me. During the resting period, I was visited on several occasions by the nursing staff, Pharmisist and Mr. Mohamed who explained the following reactions after surgery. I was treated so well by the staff from the time I arrived to the time I left. Comment: I was advised to be at the Hospital at 7 am which I did. I had to wait until 11 am (approximately) before the operation. I understood that there was four day operations, of which I was one. Maybe the order of operations could have been arranged so that later arrival times could have been made for the other patients. This is only a minor issue! Alan McLaren

I had my appendix removed and hospital isn't fun because getting blood out of my veins is pretty fucking difficult. But my first story sounds so much cooler. But I'm much better now! So, don't know how to write a review for a hospital, especially not that I visited- more admitted. I mean, can't give it 5 stars because I didn't really like it that much nor am i a four star fan. But the staff were lovely and I was ALWAYS suitably dosed up against the pain, morphine, paracetemol, codeine and ibruprofen, they have it all. (I'd be super worried if they didn't have it all) I was admitted for appendectomy through A&E which gave quite an accurate estimate of wait time, like 3 hours, and within 3 hours, they had made the decision to admit me into a ward for appendix surgery the next day. can't really comment on the surgery, was out of it - which means the anaesthetic works. (another plus point- you know you're getting the good gas...) Visiting hours are pretty much not enforced upon which cuz my mother could pop by anytime and my friends overstayed the visiting hours and they still weren't kicked out, which makes for a pretty relaxed atmosphere. Also they don't have a go at you for bringing nandos in because they don't blame you for skipping their food. (although the food lady was nice- always tried to make it presentable!) Also, checking in on yelp to a hospital makes so much easier to explain and start conversations with friends who you should tell but don't really know how to say 'sooo im in hospital but I'm okay....'

Their response time to the buzzer was excellent. My friend insisted I take a look at their exhaustive food menu. Much more variety than a lot of other hospitals that I have seen. Plenty of sinks for washing up around each ward. There's a Costa on the ground floor that is very clean and visitors can pick up coffee or a snack from here.

I checked in at the front desk and discussed my dodgy knee with them and was promptly added to the queue. I was told that I was 7th, and my turn soon arrived. The doctor I saw was incredibly helpful and showed great empathy for my injury. She didn't dismiss it and say "just rest, you'll me reet" like some doctors do. She referred me for an MRI at fracture clinic on Wednesday and sent me on my way with some extra tall crutches! They have signs around the hospital asking if patients would recommend them to our friends and family? I certainly would!
