I was told the truck was already out in that area today we can deliver tomorrow. No one called to notify me even though they required my number to order. By the time I finally found out which service it was (by checking my bank account) All the local florists were closed. They just assumed I would say deliver tomorrow. Well, tomorrow didn't work for me. I asked the funeral home why they haven't taken the link down and they said I don't know it should have happened a long time ago. Everyone there is nice and I am sure the family was probably happy with arrangements but, this is foolish. I don't live in Bel Air so I had to assume the funeral home would link to a local reputable florist on the website. That is not true.

We did find a great and caring home close by which I have reviewed as well. They were very lax about payment timeframe (which of course we paid in full), and very compassionate during such a difficult time. Please remember what kind of business you're running here. They used a photo that I did not like for the brochures of my husband, using the same photo for an enlarged painting type of the same. No one had asked if I wanted to use that photo, which was provided by someone else. When I expressed that I did not want to use that photo, the director stated it could not be changed. I ended up throwing the portrait out, since that was not the way I remembered my husband. Since my husband was cremated, and I did not purchase an urn, the display table included a plastic container urn(looked like a Rubbermaid trash can) with some half-hearted decorated plastic ivy around it. I was horrified and embarrassed. For the amount I spent for the service, I would not recommend. On a positive note, since my husband had prior military service, they were able to coordinate military honors into the service. I will not be returning to this company for future needs.

I was struck by the sincerity of the staff.. not the usual slickness that is accompanied by questionable sympathy. My friend was never rushed or pressurred.. and the represenative that worked with us was a truly likeable and easygoing guy. I also like that this business donates plots to fallen police and firemen. I will say the office building is quite outdated and a bit run down.. Actually doesn't smell that great.... but that is not why we come. We come for the grounds... which are beautiful and cater to a wide variety of cultures. It is very interesting to see the different ways people memorialize their loved ones, America is a melting pot and so are our funeral/burial customs. The niche here leans way from the mainstream American cemetary... although it certainly isnt too far out of the box. It is nice that they make it clear that they can find a way to honor almost any cultural tradition. They don't have headstones( just in laid markers) ... so all you see is beautiful green punctuated by a few family mausoleums. There is a lake in the middle with swans and ducks.It is placed on some gently sloping hills with some tall old trees. They have several themed gardens.. including a heroes garden, and lovely tranquility garden ( catering to the Asian population) .. as well as several others. Usually cemeteries are such depressing, creepy places.. but this looks like a well maintained park.. The main mausoleum, is quite nice and airy.. It has gone through a few style incarnations over the years.. but it actually works well... i found the building to have a very serene overall effect. I came to be of comfort to a friend, but also ended up finding a place that just might suit my own family one sad day.

Also, gentle guidance and support is promised. If you are promising this to grieving customers you should deliver, otherwise please choose another profession. True compassion is authentic.
