What started as a repair involving roughly $800 in parts ended up costing me over $10,000--broken down into two visits: $2,589 the first time (for work that was never properly completed), and $7,346.69 the second time. Despite my returning the truck immediately after the initial visit and clearly stating what needed to be done, the issue was not resolved correctly. At that time, I had a discussion with Service Manager Dale Coon and the Parts Manager regarding hard-wiring the truck. Despite this, the truck was not hard-wired as requested. After the second round of repairs, Dale admitted he wished they had hard-wired it from the beginning--confirming that decisions were made without a clear plan, and that the service department lacks proper direction or accountability. I am also frustrated by what seemed like an experimental approach--replacing parts such as wiring harnesses, SSAM, and ECP--without effectively restoring the truck to its original state. It felt like repairs were being guessed at, all at my expense. If you did not have a clear solution from the beginning, I should have been presented with options--not hit with thousands in charges for a problem that should have been resolved correctly the first time. As the oldest Western Star Dealer, I expected a level of professionalism and technical competence that was simply not delivered. The way my truck--and my money--were handled is unacceptable. I strongly urge you to review this situation and take accountability, both for the service outcome and the excessive costs charged. Hopefully this will help future customers. read more

Don't waist your time and money with this Hwy Robbers . They will get you out of last penny. It would be cheaper to call a towing company get towed to an other service center then to deal with this folks . I was told by service manager he can get me on the road for $1500 by next day. Jeff the service manager calls me up next day says "the entire 1-box needs to be replaced and it's about $15,000 Grand. Or he can put every thing back together for $500 and I can take my truck somewhere else. Once the $500 is paid ? Left the shop , found out they broke the clamps which are worth about $505 plus tax and their parts department has in stock if I like to purchase. When I asked if the clamps are one time use ? No they are not , however they assumed I would want to purchase new clamps so they threw away my old one and refused to replace them . Western star and freightliner of North America would be ashamed to have such associations with this people who represent them . Total shisters and would never want any one else to be screwed over by Jeff or this dealership. read more

These guys are awesome! I was in a bind with a breakdown on I-55 near the MS/LA state line in the middle of the night, I was referred to call their shop. They quickly sent their own wrecker down to get me off the side of the road and got my rig to their shop. Very professional and helpful service department. They got the parts we needed in quickly the next day and got me back out on the road. This would have taken days back home. They really understood I get paid to deliver my freight, not for down time. I'll be planning to go back to McComb Diesel for my next truck repair needs...hopefully scheduled this time though. :) read more
