We both had the large orders. We had a nice waitress and she informed us they cook the food fresh so it would be about 10 or so minutes for the food to be cooked. We are perfectly fine with that if it means freshly cooked food! When the food arrived, the fish was super crisp and yummy and very hot (temperature) so be careful! It is served with a lemon wedge and a very small pack of Tartare Sauce. On the table is a vinegar container as well. Although that vinegar tasted weak or maybe it was just plain white vinegar. I do prefer the dark malt vinegar. Crown Fish & Chip Bar also serve up Gyros (Doner) and other fried foods. They have plenty of sides such as salad, mushy peas, etc. to add on to your meal. And if you are sitting down to eat you tend to get you food pretty quickly even when there's a big queue for takeaways. The shop even has a good coffee machine, so once you have stuffed your face you can relax with a coffee and watch everybody else coming and going.

Service is super-friendly (and sometimes the children pop out for a chat too - it's been great to watch them grow up over the years). Whilst Wong's serve a limited Chinese menu we have never tried it, sticking, instead, to a standard order of: 2xHaddock, 1 Large Chips, Curry sauce and mushy peas. This is more than enough for a hungry couple. It's best to telephone your order ahead to make sure you don't have to queue for too long (they get busy towards the weekend).
