I don't know how anyone can not love the European McDonald's! Ever since I left Europe, I've been obsessed passing a McD's in the States just saddens me. Most of the locations here in Europe use the kiosks, which I actually loved. I'm used to ordering from a person, but going to the kiosk made it faster and gave me time to really study the menu before deciding. Mind you, this was all before 8am haha, but I totally needed it! I did go big on my order (had to stop myself at some point) but to me it was all worth it. They have these cool deals and boxes, so I got a mix of nuggets and mozzarella sticks. Even though I ordered so much the food here doesn't make you feel heavy or bloated at all. I didn't feel stuffed, which was such a pleasant surprise for the amount of food I ate. They serve both breakfast and the regular menu so you can get whatever you're craving at any time. Spicy nuggets - not my favorite, but had to try 6.5/10 Fries - fresher and less salty than in the States, use sauce if you want more flavor Mozz sticks - mid, but not bad McKroket - completely obsessed, 1000/10 OJ and chocolate milk - solid McMuffin - good The packaging is also really clean, which adds to the experience. They also take apple pay, which made things super convenient. Big sad moment: the ice cream machine was down! I was really looking forward to trying the Biscoff McFlurry and other European exclusive flavors. Guess the ice cream machine is a international problem!! lol For the size of my order, everything came out super quickly. Customer service was great! The cashier was super friendly and even chatted a bit with me while helping, which made it feel personal. If you're visiting Amsterdam Airport, make sure you hit up McDonald's. When in Europe I never thought id go to Mc Donalds. However, when you are stuck at the airport, sometimes things are not as they seem. European Mc Donalds has been a pleasant surprise. The food is actually, wait for it; Good! Im not joking, and pigs are officially flying. I bought a happy meal for my mom who eats like a kid, and a supreme Burger, with bacon and the works. Along with fries and a sundae. This was one of the best meals. Maybe it was the circumstance or the fact i was starving, but no joke, Mc Donalds both in Germany and Holland 10/10. So good. Located on the second floor of terminal D it's not the best option unless you're in a hurry. There's about6 kiosks you can order on- I didn't see anyone taking orders at the front. They seem to serve a mixture of breakfast and lunch/dinner even outside of normal breakfast hours. A meal here is $15, so again if you're looking for a cheap option go elsewhere, if you're looking for a quick one you'll be fine. I ordered a 9 piece (don't ask) chicken nugget meal for take away. Only to see that there were no fries. Considering that's half the meal I was annoyed to go back and get them. We wanted to grab something on the cheaper end and fast since we were pretty tired. This location has never ending people coming in to order. There are multiple self check out cues which makes ordering convenient and fast, but wait time for food was very long. Understandable due to the amount of customers, but still very slow. One of the main reasons why I gave them a 2 star review for this visit was because they messed up my order. When my order was finally made, I noticed that they completely missed my chicken nuggets, so I told the manager who was the one who originally handed me my order. He gave me an unpleasant look, grabbed a box of nuggets, put it on my tray, and turned his back on me. I understand how busy it is, but no communication and no apology with an unpleasant look is not cool, especially coming from management. Prices at this Mc Donald's location is extremely expensive too. On a side note, I didn't see anyone cleaning the tables during the time we were there, so we made sure to clean our table well before eating. As you can probably guess, the place is also loud so the ambiance wasn't great, but I wasn't expecting anything more in the first place, although overall, the airport itself is very nice and huge. read more

Loved the food and the yellow sauce for the frites. I ordered an ice tea but it tasted like ice tea and half coke. I took it back to the counter and they took the lid off and smelled it (like they didn't believe me). They proceeded to give me the exact same thing in a new cup. Tasted weird but now I think I have my new drink. Whatever. Either that's how ice tea tastes in Amsterdam or they got their tubes mixed up. 5 stars for the weird memory. read more

This branch of Mcdonald's is located in Schipol Airport's Lounge 3, it is one or two branches I noticed during my time in the airport before my Easyjet flight from Amsterdam, back home to Manchester. Like many european countries, The Netherlands (hence this store) offer gluten-free bubs, strangely I was told this was only available with Hamburgers, Cheeseburgers and Quarter Pounders with other burgers which are made gluten free in the UK (without the bun) such as the Big Mac and Big Tasty were not included. Most of the stations included screens, the regular screens for ordering which are popular in Mcdonald's globally now, but there was also a manned station. The prices here were really expensive, and beyond levels one would expect from an airport, with a large fries costing 2.45 euros, my friends fillet o fish meal costing around 8 euros, and a small pot of sauce costing 75 cents. I was offered ketchup and mayo, under the impression it would be free so I find it ridiculous to have to pay 3 euros, for something which is usuay free. I really do feel when dining in, you shouldnt have to pay for such extras, especially with a burger so dry - which is typical of gluten free bread anyway, but some fresh burger buns don't have this taste so the quality of the bun is was poor/cheap. My gluten-free burger was poor, the dry and tasteless bun and overall basic, plain, unexciting taste didn't impress. With high prices and food and service so bad, a nice balcony with views of the Airport doesn't make up for this so I feel Mcdonald's at Lounge 3 of Amsterdam Schipol Airport deserves a single one-star rating. read more

McDonalds abroad is very different. All the orders are made fresh here versus being stuck under a heat incubator lamb for hours until they're consumed. The food was pretty consistent as far as taste. The service is MUCH better and I noticed that they really care that your order is right and that you have all utensils needed for your order. Like I said abroad is completely different. It feels a bit odd reviewing a McDonalds but I did enjoy my experience ordering from a giant touch screen computer. There are 3 computers that have screens front and back (making 6 ordering points), plus there are people you can order from at the actual McDonalds counter but who wants to talk to someone! (plus the machines can speak multiple languages!) One odd thing was that I couldn't order a cheeseburger meal, it said it wasn't available (only single cheeseburgers). But I could order a cheese burger happy meal (and other burger meals). Odd, but I always wanted a giant hello kitty digital wrist watch, so happy meal it was going to be! Food-wise, it is McDonalds, you know what you are going to get and there were no surprises. Seating-wise, it was pretty busy even though half the food shops in this section of the airport were closed. We were lucky to get a table, hopefully there will be more seating when they have finished construction. So, even though you are in another country and there are signs pointing towards some dutch pancakes, there is nothing wrong with getting some easy-peasy comfort food after a long flight :) read more

Normally I wouldn't do fast food in an exotic foreign country, but I was at the airport and a local delicacy was on the menu. They have self ordering kiosks here, but I couldn't find the McKroket (the sole reason for my visit) so I had to order with a real human person. Ordering was quick and efficient, but things seem to bottleneck after. There was a screen with like, a million order numbers. I waited patiently for mine to come up. After maybe 5-10 minutes, I had 2 McKrokets in hand. The wait was certainly longer than I am used to stateside, but this was also definitely fresher and higher quality than we get stateside. The McKroket sort of looks like a McChicken, but is made of deep fried meat gravy and topped with (I think) tartar sauce. The bun was soft, the Kroket was crisp, the tartar sauce was there. I would eat a McKroket very quickly while in line to board again, if I find myself near a McDonald's at this airport in the future. read more

The queue is quite long, they just have two tills. The staff is extremely friendly, helpful and multilinguistic. The meal are displayed behind the till on giant screens. I saw the breakfast menu and the lady at the till took my order. Ten minutes later, the breakfast menu was gone and I was told that I could not get breakfast anymore. I got the refund. read more

At hung a flight great place to grab some good old American fast food. I had the sausage egg McMuffin and it was pretty good. Wasn't the same sausage patty as in the states but better than the sausage patty in Australia. read more

Okay, so yeah, I'm reviewing a McDonalds. I haven't eaten at McDonalds (or any fast food) for over 7 years because of my food allergies (gluten and dairy). I had heard that McDonalds in the Netherlands had gluten free buns, so I thought I would check it out and see if it were true. It is! For the first time in 7 years, I had a Mcdonald's hamburger. I didn't order from the computer. I had to inquire with a human about the GF buns. The girls were really nice and helpful in checking if they had them, if they had them in stock, and translating the allergy book to make sure the buns didn't also have dairy in them. AVOID! The worst attitude from the staff. We're in the airport and just looking for a quick tea. I order a meal for my husband and ask what is veggie that they have for me? The guy laughs in my face and says "the fries!" Not in an endearing way in a cheeky rude numpty way! When my husbands food was put on the tray I asked got it to go, as I had to go else where for tea and the guy actually sighed and threw if into the bag and handed it over. Their new Easy Pay is anything but. I have a credit card with the new chip that works overseas all the time. I waited in line for their new touch screen ordering as the regular lines were ridiculous. I finally get my order and it doesn't go through but it prints out my order with an order number and tells me to just take it to the desk. So I wait. And wait. And wait. I finally ask the girl handling the Easy Pay orders and she says..."I don't have a register. You have to go stand in line..." I'm like...but it even has an order number on it! While these will not be my first choice typically, when traveling for long periods of time, you can always be assured of consistency and quality of McDonalds. Slow and unorganised. I can understand mcdonalds is popular and with it being the only fast food in this terminal it is bound to get busy. But the number system is ridiculous! Stopped by this McDonald's in July of 2013 while waiting for my Kiev flight to board. I was here for breakfast, and the food's rather good. I'd recommend going here if you're kinda in a hurry to get to your flight, provided that there's no long line, of course. read more
