It would seem that from all the reviews over a year ago the slow service still a huge problem. We waited for over 20 minutes, by the time we got our food we went to the car to eat and I dumped my fries out into my box only to find a hair in my fries!!! TL;DR: Avoid. Super slow service. This place is on the waypoint for many different routes. We stopped here intending for 5 mins pit stop, which ended up being a 30 min wait for food. Food ordering is through kiosks only. They are super busy and all staff were busy preparing food. There were no staff at the counter for taking orders. We are on a road trip to SC and stopped in to use the restroom and grab some food. We very rarely go McDonalds where we live because either the food or service (sadly, sometimes both) is lacking. But our experience at this McDonald's was fabulous. The bathroom was clean. In fact, it had just been mopped. The young men at the registers were friendly and our order was not only correct (except that it was supposed to be no sauce), it was perfectly made. The filet-o-fish was hot and the bun soft and it was neatly made. The chicken McNuggets were hot and crispy. The fries were hot. Our shamrock shakes were a very green but who knows, maybe that's what they're supposed to look like nowadays? One of the young men (not the one that took our order) even opened the door for us as we exited--which was nice since it was raining. read more

This location is falsely advertising that they are "open" 24 hours. They don't even offer drive-thru past 10pm. They have some convenient sign on their drive throughs claiming that they are "short staffed and only open till 10pm". That sign has been up for over a year. What kind of McDonald's is only open till 10pm? Even the 1726 W Cumberland St Dunn location is open past that. Even in a rural area, this is unacceptable. Either extend your hours past 10pm to at least 11-12am or stop false advertising. read more

Service was horrible. I went there and they didn't have my order right I said my fries were missing from both my meals. Girl comes back with 1 medium fry. Now I'm like seriously can we not even get it right the second time so I go in and I'm annoyed. I walk up to the counter and am like I ordered two meals and I asked for my fries in the window already and she only gave me one. The MANAGER rolls her eyes at me turns around and mutters something about me getting upset over the a fries. She turns back to me and shoves the fries at me and walks off without muttering a word to me. I'm standing there thinking are you really going to act like that? On our families final few days of vacation we needed a quick fast food stop. With three exits of McDonald's to choose from this one with FREE WiFi seemed a better choice than the other two within mere miles. Upon pulling up around 8:30 on a Friday it was surprisingly busy with the front of the lot full. I immediately thought locals hangout. The lot appeared clear and no debris was in the door way upon entering. However, from being at enough McDonald's I could tell this was an 80's design and probably would not be updated. A look inside revealed that that this was indeed a locals hang out and on this night a seniors group of around 15 was gathered in the front and smelled out of town blood. The rest of the dining room was pretty empty. No updates of any kind and torn out seat cushions adorned one of the booths. The tables and seats were in poor condition from age. I did not see an issue with litter and only one dirty table so we are not even talking close to the worse I have experienced. Order was taken and the employee had no facial expression and looked like she did not want to be there.. shocker! Food order came out correct and food was hot. However, the employee specifically asked it the order was "to go", or "for here" and it came out in a bag. Maybe it's just me, but this is a huge pet peeve of mine. A staff person kept repeating the order be picked up. However, I told her I did not know it was mine, my order was "for here". The manager came over and told the employee to put it on a tray... that was nice. However, we soon realized sundaes were not on the tray. Upon going to the counter to retrieve them they seemed suspicious that I was trying to pull something. Eventually the manager again said fix them. Something that my kids will not soon forget is when Dad finished his meal and walked right into the women's bathroom. Yeah 12 hours on the road in the rain can do things to your head I suppose. But the signs were so worn on the doors you could hardly make them out. My daughter came running in after me shouting that I had went in the wrong restroom, pretty classic and luckily no guest... whew! For the record there was toilet paper all over the ladies rest room. Then men's room was clean, but the two mirrors were completely rusted out at the bottom and just nasty. Great location just off I95 and yes they do have FREE WiFi which is better than other locations.There is also a children's play area if that is your thing to bring kids to these filthy areas to play and pick something up. For goodness sakes put this on the list for a tear down and rebuild soon. I would say a 2.5 and round down. The fact this store has not had a review since 2008 and that was a 3 tells me nothing has been updated. read more

Food was typical McDonald's can't praise or complain. The reason for my review is the crew's lack of care for Covid safeness and overall food safety. I am a current restaurant manager and believe every restaurant needs to have clear expectations for crew and management. There was a manager here with no gloves on handling ready to eat food, several times she's pulled her mask down and reaches to fill up fries. She then proceeds to talk to her team with her mask down, how is this acceptable from a leader? Cashier has gloves on handling cash but a shift leader is demonstrating to break the rules implemented to keep the public safe? This is my regular stop off of I-95 whenever heading South from central NC. There' s a gas station right in front of this place, the lines are usually short, but when long they run quickly, and they keep the restrooms neat. I have been to several McDonald's restaurants and I dislike most of them, but this one is super fast, they usually get the order right, the inside is always super clean, the staff became familiar with me as a regular when I was going a lot (I'm not now), and they are almost always very nice. I Love McDonald's! The location is in the perfect spot. The employees work extremely hard to keep the establishment clean. The managers go above and beyond to satisfy each and every customer. The crew is so friendly! So many beautiful smiles. They treat each other like family, customers as well. Last, but definitely not least, It's a great working environment. I've worked several places, and none compare to my working experience in McDonald's of Benson. Keep up the great work. Looking forward to the reopening. Praying I continue to be apart of the team. If I could give a quarter of a star, I would. Just feeling really awful today and decided to grab a pick me up from McDonald's. I know full well that it's going to be a rough experience and go in expecting the usual crappy service you get in the Benson location. So I pull up to the speaker and 60 seconds go by, then someone pulls up at the other speaker and starts staring at me, probably just trying to figure out what the hold-up was. Another 120 seconds go by and finally a guy says "what do you want" like he's pissed. I brush that off, I understand shitty workplaces. I ordered a Medium French vanilla latte and he rang up a happy meal with nuggets and fries ‍ I assumed it was a malfunction and drove up to pay. I ended up having to reorder my medium French vanilla latte and paid for what they rang up when I said that. This does not yet exceed my worst expectations. Then I drove up to the second window. 5 entire minutes went by, the car behind me honked and I shouted back that they hadn't given me my order yet. No one was even near the window that I might call their attention. Then a girl pops out of nowhere and hands me the tiniest cup and I asked if that was their medium now. She looked at the screen and said I ordered a small so I parked and read my receipt and sure enough, they rang me up for a small. Might I add this JUST happened. I was there around 4 pm, they could not have been very busy at all I live two block away, but I'll be driving out to Dunn from now on read more

Their staff cannot communicate with customers. This is not the first time this week that we had issues there. My 71 year old father loves McDonalds coffee and frequently goes there to get a cup of coffee as well as to fill his thermos. He has had no issues with any other McDonald but the one in downtown Benson on 600 East Main St. He is aware that there is a charge to have this filled up but they refused to do it. The first day they told him to fill it himself until the manager stop her staff so he wouldn't get burned. The next day the manager wasn't there and he had the same issues with them refusing to fill the thermos. So on the third day that they refused him so he went over to BURGER KING on 700 East Church St. directly across from McDonald's. BURGER KING DIDN'T REFUSE HIM, they said yes sir we do fill thermos for about $2 and some change. Moral of the story avoid McDonald's they are rude, inconsiderate and they don't help out people!
