Stumbled across this gem. (All Gluten Free) Was looking for a local bakery, needed sour dough bread for sandwiches. No sourdough, but bought lots of other things. Bought snickerdoodles for a friend, pineapple cheese cake, a chocolate whoopie pie, apple ring and a loaf of bread. Everything was excellent. Bread made the crispiest grilled cheeses. Apple ring/cake warmed up in the oven, served mine with vanilla ice cream. Lovely. Pop in and see if they have a treat for you. Front house employee was patient and kind.

This place is out of this world, awesome bakery, where everything happens to be gluten-free too. Staff is amazing, owner is extremely hands-on, great locally owned business.

As you are driving along Route 95 in North Carolina, you will notice a billboard for a Gluten Free products bakery off Exit 79 in Benson. If you or any of your loved ones needs to eat gluten free products, "don't miss this exit!" Turn NW on East Main Street and follow it until you see the railroad crossing. Turn left onto South Railroad Ave and park in one of the angled spots at #111. You are at the home of JP's Pastry. Since my wife recently found that she needed to eat gluten free we stopped to check them out. Joe Parker, Chief Baking Officer has developed many of the best food items every made without gluten. Joe and his bakers produce pastries, breads, biscuits and rolls, Pizzas and pastas, chicken tenders and pot pies and gravy. We bought a load of food and since we spent over $75.00 they put it on ice for us in an insulated travel bag. Eveything that my wife has tried since we arrived back in NJ has been delicious. The ingredients are top shelf and the texture of the flour items has been flaky and not gooey like many other brands of gluten free baked goods. JP's Pastry can also be found online at www.jpspastry.com where you can select items to be conveniently delivered to your home. I highly recommend JP's, not only for the amazing products but because it restores a bit of normalcy in your meals.

Saw the billboard from I95 and had to check it out! Great selection! Helpful staff, fair prices! Will stop in route to Fl next trip! Picked up fresh sliced sandwich bread, cinnamon roll loaf, carrot cake square and a Banana nut muffin! Yummy!

Excited to finally get a chance to visit!

We first became aware of JPs years ago when they were a vendor at a local gluten free festival. Ever since then, we have been obsessed with this bakery, which boasts being the only certified gluten-free bakery in North Carolina. While they currently wholesale their products at various local stores, we were excited to finally get a chance to visit their storefront. The majority of the building is dedicated to their kitchen facilities. The actual store-front isn't that large. But it was big enough to store all sorts of amazing gluten-free deliciousness! Some of the items are room-temp, while others are refrigerated or frozen. They offer everything from gluten-free chicken nuggets and macaroni and cheese to cinnamon rolls and Hawaiian rolls. The ladies working up front were friendly and personable. While a little out of the way, it is well worth the drive if you are gluten-free!!!

I'm familiar with JP's from my local Whole Foods, and Lovey's and Apple Annie's in Wilmington also carry their products. So I stopped by on a whim about a year ago and this little store has a great selection of goods! Most items in the store are frozen, which works for me because it means they will have thawed by the time I get home from Benson. Worth a little trip or a stop if you're passing nearby. I have to admit that their cupcakes don't wow me - I've tried a few at different times and the cake always seems too dry. But so many other things I've tried are amazing: love the plain biscuits, the cheesecake bars are divine - pumpkin was a revelation! - and when I stopped by this week, they had fresh chocolate challah bread. See the picture and weep. I'll of course continue to buy JP's locally but will stop for biscuits always!

Gluten free entrees and breads...gluten free sausage gravy, cinnamon butter, breakfast sandwiches!!

We have been here several times and everything we have purchased has been great…read more I am a big fan of the small filled croissants and try to get a different flavor every time. This trip I got a blueberry, a creme cheese and a Boston cream one. My favorite was the Boston cream, my least favorite was the cream cheese. We also got a glazed donut and a twist, both of these for the first time. The donut was better than you can get at the famous places. The twist was a cross between a donut and a cinnamon roll. Very good. There was a line when we arrived but it moved fairly quickly. There was only one person at the register, he was filling orders, answering the phone and taking payments, so not real friendly, but not rude. I noticed while we were walking that they have a good selection of other dishes other than sweet stuff. Tempted to try something different next time. We sat in the adjoining seating area that is shared with a sandwich shop. The seating area was clean and huge. No trouble finding a seat here. I am sure we will continue to stop here on every trip.

Ich liebe Annelores deutsche Bäckerei!…read more I first got goodies from Annelore's booth at the State Farmer's Market in Raleigh. The Apfel (apple) turnover was delicious, as was the Heidelbeerkuchen (blueberry cake) and Zitronenschnitten (lemon bar). I saw a nice gentlemen there that day who I think may be part owner; based on what I see on their website I wonder if it was Herr Norbert. While waiting for another guy behind the counter to bag my goodies, I happened to mention (to who I think was Norbert) that I'm learning German, and he spoke some basic German to me! Which I understood - OMG, must tell my German teacher. A couple weeks later I needed to bring desserts to our monthly Book Club meeting, and Annelore's was my first thought. I decided to visit their actual store in Cary. Even though it's an hour away from home, I stopped by one day when I had to go to Raleigh for an appointment. An Annelore's employee helped me with selecting about six cake slices and 2-3 different bars, plus some German cookies. The inside of the store is very clean, and there are some places to sit if you'd like to eat there. The employees were kind and helpful (and patient, in my case, trying to decide what to buy for a Book Club group I'd never met in person). Annelore's German Bakery is a wonderful way to take care of your dessert needs and support a local business at the same time. If you need a dessert, cake, scones, or other treats for your home gathering, BBQ, church social, potluck, business lunch, or other event, I would definitely let Annelore's take care of that part for you! 10/10, highly recommend! SO good! Vielen Dank, Annelore's... Ich werde Ihr Geschäft bald wieder besuchen!

Came here recently and really enjoyed my visit!…read more First, there's a small parking lot right next to the bakery, and I think a larger parking lot at the rear of the building. I got lucky and snagged a spot near the front, though :) I looked around at everything and it all looked so tasty! I decided to grab a loaf of pumpernickel bread, but next time I'll probably get a dessert or two. The staff were helpful throughout my visit. They asked me if I wanted my bread sliced, and when I replied in the affirmative, gave me a helpful chart with a lot of different options for how thick I wanted each slice :) I took the bread home, stuck it in the oven, and ate it with some butter and jam. Delicious! My kids really liked it as well. Overall, I will definitely come back!
