I've been to a few interesting McDonald's locations. Some unique because of the building. Some unique because of the location. But never one because of the parking lot being unique. That does not equate to a unique thing in the least. When I got here, I was not prepared for how terrible of a location this is road wise. It is where the four lane goes down to a two lane for a few blocks and then back up to four lanes in a way. Making for getting into the lot difficult, especially if you are not familiar with the area in the least. Finally into the lot and I start to circle around to find a spot. I was not doing the drive thru as I needed to sit down and eat a meal. I circled around once for sure to only eye that there were handicap spots truly near the building. I did the start of a second circle to then notice that parking had a direction to it. Behind the building. Not just behind the building, but completely behind the building. Like you are walking the distance of twice the building to get inside. Almost as if they were hoping that you had no other choice but to give up and use the drive thru. This causes you to wonder if your vehicle was still going to out here when you returned. This also made you feel like you were definitely taking a chance with your life. I also have to point out that you will have to cross two lanes of through traffic to get to the sidewalk to that leads you to the door. One being that drive thru lane. Once inside, I used the kiosk to order food. Went to my table and waited. Having ordered from the kiosk my food arrived and the girl delivering it asked me if I had my drink. Uh, how? I ordered from the kiosk, no one was at the counter, and currently most places dismantled the self serve soda fountain areas. Telling her no, I was given my cup after my food arrived and was actually able to fill/refill my drink if I wanted. Probably one of the last places to do so. Food was your basic food. Nothing to complain about. It hit the spot and and had me on my way here. Back to the parking lot, my vehicle was still there. However, to exit they make you access the side road here to get back on the main stretch. Which is supposed to ease the pain, but still just as difficult/annoying. read more

Oh jesus this is going to be a long paragraph, I am 15 years old and lived in Chambersburg for my entire life, and since I remember 70% of the time the McDonald's order is messed up. The service is terrible. They cant hear you when you say codes and you dont get the food, get your food mixed up, mess up the order by putting pickles on a cheeseburger which my mother is allergic too, they fuck it up almost every time and unenjoyable. The employees dont respect you and are rude and ignorant. Do not go here and also there's managers being replaced like crazy read more

Parking accessibility at this McDonald's absolutely sucks I would hate to come inside here on a day when it's raining. I may get more than wet. My simple order of two double cheeseburgers was wrong. Service was friendly and easily owned up to their mistake. They offered to fix it. I did decline. And they were apologetic. My advice here based on my experience and other experiences. Double check your order. No matter how simple. They get 4 stars just because on how they handle everything. read more

I ordered a McDouble that was modified with NO KETCHUP NO PICKLES NO MUSTARD NO CHEESE I added, bacon and tomato. I did not receive bacon on it which I paid extra for. I had ketchup pickles mustard and cheese on my burger. Is reading optional at this location. I have constant issues with order accuracy. I didnt even have a straw with my order. We have used this McDonald's several times to order happy meals, and dinner. The customer service is good and they were always happy to help us. There have been a couple of times when our order was incomplete and I've had to return to get the correct order. The food is reasonably priced, and they are always busy. The place is clean and I've never had a problem with the restrooms. This is certainly a restaurant I would recommend for obtaining fast food. read more

Running late to the office and without breakfast, I did the drive through at this McDonald's this morning. Everything went pretty well. The speaker to place my order went well, the order was correct on the screen, my coffee was prepared to order and I was given my receipt at the first window. Nice lady gave me my meal at the second window, confirmed it and I headed off. Sadly, it was without the hash browns. Which was bad but not awful. I sort of feel like I confused her by flirting a little bit as she was checking the order. They always mess up our order. The few times they get it right are rare. More than that, this is the only place I have ever been to with consistently crappy customer service and absolutely no accountability. They should just change their slogan to: "McDonalds in Chambersburg.... where good drive through times trump good customer service every time!" I've tried to give this place multiple opportunities in the past to redeem themselves but it's almost as if each next time, is the worst. Let's just start with the absolutely atrocious traffic layout they have at this joint. I have no idea what genius of a traffic engineer thought this layout would be efficient and effective, but it absolutely is not whatsoever. Makes zero sense. Next up is the heavy push by the staff while inside to try and push customers towards using the automated computer based ordering machine. Funny. I don't see McDonalds lowering their prices in lieu of the employee cost cuts. Finally, the wait times are absolutely terrible. Over 25 mins for a double Chzburger, small fry and large coke. Absolutely ridiculous. Then again, this dude is the only game in town and there are no other locations, so he's got a stranglehold on the area. I usually stop by here before going to work, most of the employees are very nice, kind, and quick at what they do, from taking orders, to payment, to giving the food out. The service is excellent whenever I'm there going through the drive-thru. Only thing I dislike, which affects the speed of service, and is in no way the employees' fault, is how the drive-thru is designed. I think the concept is great, having two lanes where customers can pull into to order, but at times, some customers believe one lane is "quicker" than the other, therefore not pulling into a free lane, which can cause major backups and therefore make it seem that service is taking forever. On some occasions I have also almost been hit by other people in the drive-thru due to this problem. It would definitely help to have an employee step outside once in a while to make sure things are moving smoothly to mitigate traffic backups that can cause service to slow. read more

This could be one of the worst McDonald's I have ever been into. The cleanliness was apauling. The milk shake machine looked like a murder of chocolate and vanilla. There were still buns and muffins on the floor and have been kicked under the counter. The manager had there paperwork and cordless phone on the food counter and used it to put the food on top of. The constant beeping of the drivers is enough to make the strongest break. The tables in the dining area had no been cleaned in quite a while, so lucky for the nice patrons to complete that task. About 45" ago I was in the drive thru (this place is difficult to get into and out of) I ordered a Carmel Frappe and a Big Mac w bacon. What I got was a melted Frappe and a quarter pounder with two tiny pieces of bacon. The cashier was apologetic for the Big Mac confusion and of course I didn't know about the Frappe yet. Just stopped by this McDonald's to quickly grab food for my 4 kids, husband and myself. Placed order and literally took 20 minutes for food. Fries were placed in bag upside down (4 medium fries). Forgot artisan sandwich (ordered three) which by the way we're not good. We ordered 6 fries and they did not taste like true McDonald fries. They were greasy, cool and old tasting. Wow! I've tried giving this place multiple chances to prove me wrong about their horrible service and quality of food but I have yet to have a good experience here. There has always been something wrong with my meal every time I've gone there. STORY TIME: I was just there a little while ago ordering at the window and in my order I asked for 2 apple pies. I paid for my food at the first window and received my food at the second.. or so I thought. My apple pies were missing. On top of that I was told that they didn't have any apple pies, only pumpkin pies. So I just took those instead. At first the manager brought me one and asked if I ordered two. I said two, he hands me the one he had in his hand and goes to get another one. As soon I received it I could tell it was cold. I took the pie out of the box and the pie was literally colder than outside.. (mind you, it is the middle of November and it's 32 degrees outside at 10pm). When he brought the second one I informed him that the pie was cold. He snatched the pie from me and closed the window. He comes back a little moment later with the pies in a bag and hands them to me. I asked if the pies were fresh ones.. he then tells me "no, fresh pies are going to take 13 min" I told him to just keep the pies and I drove off. He didn't seem to care too much about it. When I got home (3 min away) my burgers tasted like they were a week old and my fries tasted like they were already sitting in out for about 2 hours. Meanwhile their staff is hanging out inside on their phones and moving around at a snails pace. Needless to say, tonight.. this McDonald's finally struck out with me and I will not be returning.. ever. Just go to Burger King, literally right across the street. read more

Without a doubt the worst McD I have ever been to. Ordered an egg mcmuffin and a small coffee. Please pull aside because we don't have your sandwich ready I was told. After 15 minutes of waiting I still hadn't received my sandwich. There were 4 other cars waiting for their orders as well. If I could give a place 0 stars, boy would I. This place has ZERO customer service skills and was an absolute nightmare to go in to because of how the roads are set up. I was with three other people and between the four of us, they messed up 3 of our orders. The employees weren't even listening when they were taking our order and as more people came in, I saw that the same thing was happening to them. This is 100% the worst McDonalds I've ever been to. Along with that, mustard was all over the wrappers of our food, when there wasn't a single item we ordered that was supposed to have mustard. While 3 of us were eating while the 4th person was still waiting on her food that needed fixed, we found a hair on the fries. Once my friend finally got her supposed to be fixed bacon mcdouble with ONLY lettuce this time she discovered a bite of onion in the middle, almost as if they just picked off the stuff she didn't want. Also, every single item in the bag was covered in mustard, even though nothing we ordered had mustard on it. Have been to this mcdonalds and several others in our area and they are all the same! They dont know how to take the order! Our simple orders are ALWAYS wrong!!! Food is ALWAYS cold and overcooked! When first arriving at this McDonald's, I realized that we had to park towards the back and walk around which wasn't a big deal. As I walked inside and waited for my food I realized a very rude worker right away. For being a manager, you should be showing the other coworkers the right ways of doing things but not yelling at them in front of everyone. The one thing that occurred when I was here was, a very sweet girl named Alex was running from each side of the McDonald's to make sure everyone had there food and was enjoying it, on top of that she was cleaning the dining area. The manager, which looked like Mrs Claus, walked out to the dining area and screamed at Alex,then slammed the tray down and told her that she didn't have time to run around looking for people herself. This McDonald's is the best McDonald's in Chambersburg, Pa. They always have freshly made, presentable, and now that it is newly renovated it's pretty awesome inside! However, they need to do something with the way they run things. The management needs some reviewing immediately. They gave free Big Mac cards as a promotional when they first opened again as a newly renovated McDonald's and it was chaos. There was no manager waiting with us all night for the cards to tell us what to do. We only had a sign stuck to the wall saying wait at this door which all 50 of is did. But when someone finally showed up, people were waiting at the wrong door ignoring the people that have been waiting for hours and being disrespectful to us and you wanna know whAt the manager does? He tells us to go over to the other door where the people who showed up after us thinking they'd get in faster are waiting so the people who have been waiting for hours are furious and he tells us to go back to our original door so we do and he doesn't let us in but he lets the people who have have been waiting for 20 minutes while we waited 8 hours in.
