I have to give credit where credit is due this McDonald's on Harbison, Boulevard is by far the best one I've been too. I've been to the one on Forest Drive and I've never been there when the employees wasn't rude to customers and the employees are always yelling at each other. Here on Harbison the young manager was very polite and there was awesome customer service. I will NEVER step foot back in the Forest drive McDonald's. I will definitely come here again. read more

i genuinely shit you not, i got yelled at for not taking the wrong order. the worker yelled for a happy meal plain and i asked if it had extra fries, they said no. i did not take the food and they got pissed and started saying they called for my order. i waited about an hour for a cheeseburger with no cheese... the workers are assholes who have no idea how to run a place and nobody had hairnets in. it looked nasty inside and my feet were sticking to the floor. that establishment needs to be burned to the ground or shut down. read more

If I wanted to work to do order entry work I'd go back in time to the early '70s when that was my job. Took me some time to order a black coffee and longer to have said coffee to be delivered. We were headed out of town and I wanted a McRib. My wife adamantly refused to get anything at McDonald's so we were lucky to have the Chick-fil-A right next door so that she could get what she wanted. The kids and I decided McDonald's was the place and it was Heavy with traffic around these businesses so it definitely took a bit to get in the parking lot. I attempted multiple times to use the app to order my food but of course the app was down. When I walked in I ended up standing there for at least 10 minutes waiting to be acknowledged by the young man running around with a traffic vest on. He appeared completely out of it like he didn't have any idea what he was doing. I told him that I attempted to order on the app with him telling me multiple times the app was down. I ordered my food which was a McRib combo and three of the $5 bags. After waiting about 15 minutes the young lady from the back came up and put both my bags of food on the counter as I looked inside I could see that there was no McRib but there was a regular sandwich box. When I opened it up I could see my McRib was cut in half stacked on top of itself and put on a sesame seed bun. Not once was I told anything about this prior to it being in the bag. I then expressed my displeasure to the young man about this with him stating that the truck didn't come in so they didn't have the Buns. I explained that I wish I would have known that prior to ordering it because I would not have ordered it. He said sorry and asked if I would like something else. Looking at the price comparison, I explain that I would like a Double Quarter Pounder because it would be the most comparable item. He then ordered a regular Quarter Pounder. I explained him once again that the regular Quarter Pounder would have been cheaper and he can just give me back the difference with him just staring at me like I was speaking a different language. Seeing this I explained to him again it would be the most comparable thing to give me a Double Quarter pounder. He then woke up to the register and pulled up the price of a Double Quarter Pounder explaining it was 5.49. He then looked up the price of they make rib and said it was 5.36. I then explained well I've already been convenient enough because all the rest of my food is sitting there and I had to call my son in so that he could come get the food for the rest of the family so it wasn't cold so I also explained that I would be more than happy to pay the other 13 cents if that would solve the issue. He then just looked at me walked away and went to speak to the manager again who explained to him that he should have said about the change of the bun prior to me paying for it. I told him to give me the Double Quarter Pounder with cheese and after it arrived I went on my way. By this time I had already consumed two of my drinks sitting there and when I asked to have them refilled they took them from me and gave me a brand new cup because you can no longer refill your drinks in the lobby they have to do it themselves. At no time at this restaurant that I see anyone in a hurry to get anything done which just reiterates my feeling about the way customer Services today.. just plain sad! I will say that the food was good but of course my fries were a little cold based on my time. This McDonald's for me will always be a one and done! read more

So I'm a fan of the Hi-C drink. I order a 10 piece meal and they up charge the drink because I asked for Hi-C. Then when I ask about it they said "that's how the ring up the drink because they don't have a Hi-C button on the screen." My problem is this store is getting 40 cents richer for meals that already come with a drink if someone asks for the Hi-C. Would not recommend this one simply because they are robbing people blindly. I know people just past through, order, and don't think about it. Just imagine how many people get up-charge for a drink that is supposed to come with the MEAL. So I'm here to inform others because business are just finding more ways to be crooked. read more

I didn't become a Yelper to "bash" businesses, but I'm so disgusted by what happened recently that I have to share my experience. My husband and I went here recently. We have not been eating out much amidst the COVID pandemic, but we both had a long week and decided to take the easy way out for dinner. We were told to pull into a parking spot to wait on our food. We waited about 10 or 15 minutes in the spot when I saw a girl coming standing in the door way. I thought it was our food, but noticed the girl was eating fries out of the bag she was holding so I figured it was someone leaving and waiting on a ride. NOPE. I was completely wrong. The girl comes out of the door and started walking toward my car. Turns out it was our food, and she had been eating out of our bag of food with her GLOVES on. I told her I saw her eating fries out of the bag and she said "I didn't eat any fries out of the bag." I told her I saw her do it and she rolled her eyes and walked back in. Less than 30 seconds later she came back out with a sticker over the bag, like that was suppose to somehow reassure me the food had not been tampered with. The food was also completely cold when we got it so we have no clue how long it sat before someone decided to bring it to us. This has really turned us off to this location and we're not sure we're coming back. read more

Just got into town late and grabbed food to go to my hotel. Wish I would have gone somewhere else. First off one of guys making the food made a gesture twice where he kissed his fingers with the gloves on then continued to make food without changing them. Got my food as I was driving away I ate a fry and they were already less than warm. Got to my hotel and started to eat and found out that my quarter pounder was really pink throughout. I arrived at McDonald's at my children's request this past Sunday 1/30/23 around 2pm. We went inside instead of drive thru with the intentions of slowing down and spending time with my two children prior to shopping nearby. When we entered only 1 of the 4 kiosk touch screens were working and not a soul the be found anywhere near the check out. The customers at the kiosk were struggling with it's use but since we came in to spend time I patiently waited our turn as I normally would. Once our turn came up I ordered our meals, paid our bill and followed the directions to take a table tent to our table. The machine was not able to print a receipt at that time so my children and I figured the table tent was enough. We were the only customers inside the restaurant at that time so we sat together chatting and waited for our food to arrive... 10 minutes later a # was called out and an order was placed on the counter. Not realizing it was ours because I was expecting it brought to the table and Our # according to the table tent was 23 not 867 that was called out. Five minutes later an employee came to the table with the tray of food plopped it on the table and said - sorry we don't have enough staff today. I nicely said no problem, I just didn't know it was ours because I didn't get a receipt with the # they called. We then went on to eat our food quietly. As I was finishing up I noticed another elderly female customer at the door closest to the drive through trying to come in. The door was locked and she had walked through the rain to try to come in and had a hamburger partially unwrapped and was trying to report a mistake or issue with her drive thru order. No employees were in an area to see her so not understanding why the door was locked I got up to let her inside so she could rectify her concerns. She thanked me profusely for my help getting her out of the rain and inside. My intentions were to be helpful to all, the staff and the customer. When the customer left an employee walked over to the door and locked it again which I thought was weird, but a door dash person was walking in and she let him in. A few moments later a male employee, I am assuming to be the manager or crew manager at the time spoke out and looked straight at me with a loud and rude tone and said "umm You can't just go unlocking our doors for people when we lock them!" I responded back and said "I'm sorry are you speaking to me?" I was trying to be helpful and help that customer get her concerns addressed and get her out of the rain." He then proceeded to tell me if she needed to come in she could've come in the doors on the other side ( again having to walk through a downpouring rain) He then proceeded to tell me it wasn't my concern. So I told him he needed to think about his customers and providing appropriate and courteous customer service. He proceeded to berate me and talk back nastily in front of my kids, mumbling and telling me to shut my f'n mouth. At that point I told him we would never return to the establishment and that I wasn't going to be spoken to any damn way he wanted to. My children were scared by the interaction and felt very uncomfortable with his behavior towards me. His response was "good, don't come back." So on that note I shall never return there, and feel sorry for those who deserve appropriate customer service and how they are treated by the rude and disrespectful higher paid staff in charge. - all because I had intentions of helping. read more

There are a few really nice people here on day shift. Most of the night crew are horrible. I only come here for drinks if it's late and I am on the way home. Tonight, I got three drinks. Two were wrong. She knew they were wrong. I very politely handed them back and told her what they were supposed to be. She gave me a dirty look and re-fixed them. The pic is of one. Lid half off, drink all over and not even close to full and no ice. Everytime things like this happen which is why I no longer eat there. Won't be getting drinks anymore either. Well, this location provided another infuriating experience today, 6/27/2020. One of the items I ordered was a cup of coffee. I was asked to pull to the end of the pickup line so fresh coffee could be brewed. This caused a bottleneck...I own the largest SUV made. The location has an overflow drive-thru 1 and drive-thru 2. But apparently the staff instructs customers to park where the staff doesn't have to walk so far. After TWENTY minutes a surly woman comes up to my truck and asked "You want coffee?". She then said I had to give her my receipt. To me, this was outrageous... I parked my truck out of the way and went inside, FURIOUS! My discussion with the manager left me even more disturbed because she told me it was their policy to ask for receipts to make sure "the item was right". Sure. More like the implication that I was trying to con them out of....a cup of COFFEE! Then the manager handed me my coffee and said a very sarcastic "Have a nice day!". No apologies. One may want to drive a few more miles to another McD location in hopes of decent service. read more

I really wish employees would look at what they are service and ask themselves if they would eat that. I got a meal, and the fries were nasty! They were saturated with grease and were way over cooked. McDonalds still has the best Coke taste of any fountain drinks food (not sure how they do it). Very poor attitude by the "manager". I didn't stop at this location for over a year after her racist comments to me. Stated stopping in the again about 6 months ago because it's convenient. Normally it's only me but this past Sunday she told my wife " you have to be patient". We had been waiting 15 mins for 1 hash brown and watched 6 people get their order with hash browns. This woman is rude, racist and overall nasty to her customers and employees. I've talked to the owner about it and nothing changes. Worst experience ever! Yesterday in the morning I was at your restaurant, and in the drive-through I was given my drinks in a cupholder. I told the old bag that I didn't want the cupholder and grabbed the bag off the top. What all the other McDonalds do is take the cupholder back and take the drinks out of it and hand them to me, but not this old witch. She shoved the cupholder back at me and said in a very rude tone and mean face, you can take them out and hand it back. I said what? She said again, I said you can take them out and hand it back, while she shoved it back at me. While I was taking my drinks out the cupholder started to fall and she just stared on and didn't care. Don't know if you normally treat customers like that, but I'd fire someone like that if they talked to a customer of mine that way. I am really getting tired of McDonalds employees giving service with a freaking attitude, dude you work at McDonald's and you want $15 an hour, yeah right! Think I'm going to find a new place and boycott this horrible service place. Chick-fil-A is a nicer group of people and they treat their customers a lot better than any McDonalds I have ever been to. I am here at McDonald's on Harbison Road just outside Columbia SC to have a quick bite for breakfast. First I went to the ladies bathroom, to wash up, and the restroom was filthy and looks like it hadn't been cleaned in days. Since I always wash my hands before eating, I noticed that instead of putting soap in the dispenser it was filled with just water with perhaps a little bit of soap which was apparently done to save money. As I entered the restaurant the tables and floors were dirty, the refreshment area hadnt been wiped down and sticky stuff was all over both soda dispensers. Seeing the care of this place makes one a bit reluctant to eat in the restaurant. This is a surprise to me since the majority of McDonald's restaurants are quite clean. read more
