McDonald's at Ludgate Hill is a fairly modern branch with an emphasis on technology, this is shown with a large number of ordering stations, and the regular checkout area being unmanned, meaning if you prefer dealing with a human and/or paying cash, you'd often be left to wait. I did notice a fellow customer struggle to even order, the staff didn't seem to care.
This branch does look pretty cool and modern but with such a small range of seating, mainly a few booths, it's where it ends - there is seating downstairs however there is no lift making it awkward.
I ordered a vegetable wrap without the tortilla wrap to make it gluten-free, I ordered via the Mcdonalds app. My order took its' time to come, especially for a place which is supposed to be a fast food chain like McDonald's, I understand it might have been a different order as it was without the wrap, but multiple customers who ordered after me were served before me, which I found to be unacceptable and rude, especially considering their orders were bigger. I can't help but feel this is discrimination against people who are paying less ie) with a coupon or a smaller order, both of these applied to myself.
The vegetable goujons were hideous, they looked certainly a lot better than they tasted, they were soggy and bland, they had a slight kick to them but this also wasn't very pleasant.
Lack of upstairs seating, poor service for people who want to pay cash and for myself having to wait a lot longer for a basic meal, and bad food quality even for McDonald's standards. 1* read more
