They want to make you use a kiosk to order. Not a surprise, the company has been trying to inhumanize their business for several years. Any semblance between what the company used to be and what it is has been dying for over two decades. And its not just a cost issue because they have had no problem raising prices. Second. They want to prepare your drinks. The say its required, but i see people doing their own. So not true! And after seeing on of their crew preparing drinks. I would rather bring my own. Yuck. If you're looking for a McDonald's where the staff openly tells customers "I don't give a f*," congratulations -- you found it.** I placed a mobile order and pulled up to the drive-thru. I waited over a minute with no greeting. Another car pulled into the second lane after me, and they immediately took that order first. When I said "Hello? I was here first," the employee's exact response was: "I don't give a f*."** That's... a bold customer service strategy. I pulled up to the window thinking maybe it was a misunderstanding. Nope, I was stared at like a deer in headlights!!!!!! At this point, I'm convinced this McDonald's is running a social experiment to see how far they can push people before they snap (not the best idea with a 100% disabled veteran!). Or management simply clocked out mentally sometime in 2020 and never came back. Food aside, I'd just like to order without being treated like an inconvenience for existing. If you enjoy: getting ignored being spoken to like a burden and receiving profanity with your fries ...then this is the perfect place for you. All McDonald's aren't created equal!!! I give this location five stars because of the friendly service and clearness. The interior is standard and the food is consistent with other locations. This location wins out because they actually took the time to assemble your sandwich versus throwing things together. Also they arranged our food on the serving tray, I've NEVER seen that before. Overall I felt like this location has a higher standard compared to most other locations. Keep up the good work!!! read more

Yesterday I went to this restaurant for two cones, when I was at the window paying I asked for my receipt because when I paid they charged me $12 and it was only $4. I told them to give me back my $8. The manager kicked me out, he told me he would call the police, he said he couldn't help me, how is that possible? I will never buy there again, they stole my money. I'm not upset that they kept my $8, I'm just mad that they blamed me for their mistake. I bought two cones, they were $4. Why did they charge me $12? They refused to give me my receipt. Be careful when you buy from that store. The worst customer service. That manager disrespected me and yelled at me, because of their mistake! I wanted my money back, they didn't give me my money back! read more

This was by far the best McDonald's I've ever been to in terms of food. The freshest fish and fries ever. Special order burger was perfect. Pickles in every bite just how i love it. The bathrooms were kind of gross and you couldnt sit in the restaurant section but overall great. All the staff had masks on and they were all super friendly. read more

Some New Hire refused to give me a refill cause of "Coronavirus" even though were pretty much through this pandemic here in The Great State of North Carolina. I would borderline say it was discrimination on her part. Didn't catch her name, but she broke the #1 rule of McDonalds which is The Customer comes first. I do remember she was wearing a heather grey polo and was visibly making the rest of the Staff in Black attire uncomfortable. I would recommend some sort of disciplinarian action from the Restaurant Manager. I had my receipt to prove the purchase and she still refused. So i calmly exited the building, even though I was very upset as I'm traveling on a budget and having troubles with my Truck. Stopped in this store for lunch today and they have no concept how to manage traffic. Totally congested and unlike the other McDonalds on the other side of town, have not learned how to manage traffic going through the drive through. Since I was expecting a 1:00 pm conferrence call, I ordered two fillet of fish sandwiches and large iced tea. When I open the sandwich, they had basically fallen apart with half of the bun off of the sandwich. The other half was glued to the bottom half with the melted cheese. Not the most flavorful offering I have had at McDonalds. While convenient to I-40 traffic at Exit 148, would not recommend. read more

This is the WORST McDonald's in Statesville. They mess up your order and then act like it is your fault and an inconvenience when you ask them to correct their mistake! It is really bad in the evening when there are children there as "managers". No customer service whatsoever! Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else! read more

I love the new McDonald's! I'm so glad they demolished Shiki and took over the entire corner, now they have 2 Drive-Thru lanes and they even have 3 windows for service! Boy, did they need it! This location still stays packed almost always. I only come through for the Sweet Tea, it's my favorite but my teenage son still often asks to hit the Drive-Thru for a meal. My son got hooked on the Glazed Tenders over the Summer and I have to admit they're pretty good! The tangy sauce has just enough spicy sweetness to set it off. These may be a promo item because some locations no longer offer them, including this location. Other choices for my son are a Big Mac or Chicken Nuggets. Again, it's just Sweet Tea for me, no ice! The service in the Drive-Thru (we've never gone inside) since the remodel has been great! Staff are friendly and very customer-oriented! I'm really glad this location has improved not only in the layout and updated building but also on the customer service, it definitely deserves the 4 star rating now! read more

This night, I took a chance and went to McDonald's. Due to declining quality of food, I stopped eating at McDonald's awhile ago. However, I like to give places a second chance that have been written off. This night, I had the chicken tenders combo. The chicken was real chicken. Nothing like the nuggets. The man in the drive through sounded so friendly. It didn't take long for me to get through the line. The order was correct and hot. What more can you ask for? read more

Alright so I usually get pretty good service from McDonald's but this time it wasn't as great. My food was fine but my drinks were pretty much completely wrong. I ordered Coke and instead got Diet Coke, I understand how easy that can be to mess up BUT my dad ordered sweet tea and somehow they managed to put COFFEE in the tea. How do you mess that up? I believe the computer system was down tonight (around 1am), or some other issue, but I wanted to give a shoutout to all the polite staff members I met. First I was greeted by a friendly cashier at the drive through menu who made sure that it was okay that they could only accept cash. At the window, another friendly employee informed me that my food was free per the manager's instructions due to the wait. Definitely don't discount this location! I ordered a meal which includes a drink. I had a child's plastic container I needed to put water in. They have the soda machine on the outside of counter for customers to fill their own soda. Water was not an option on the machine. I asked the employee how I can get water and she said she said water is only served on the inside of counter; not the outside like the other drinks. I asked her if she would fill up the water container and she said because it was larger than a small cup I would have to pay for the water. The container is 16oz not a gallon. She said only small waters are free. I understand cost of inventory however there was no inventory being used. 16oz of water rather than the 8 oz small cup they offer. AI blame the manager not this employee. It's important to hire employees and teach them judgement instead of strict policy. She was following policy and has zero trust from manager to make a judgement call. And why give a small water for free and not a large. I order plastic cups for a large company and the cost difference between small and large is minimal (if any depending on distributor). Goes to show McDonalds supporting people drinking large sodas but won't support drinking water without a up charge. I wrote this while waiting on my food. The employee just told me that they are now out of orange juice and I needed to get another drink or wait awhile while they get more orange juice. I explained that I really just want a large water and the other girl wants to charge me for it. This employee also just looked at me with a blank stare and handed me a cup to fill up with soda at machine instead of saying "sorry we are out of OJ as your originally wanted, let me get you that water as you requested for lack of Orange Juice we can't deliver on" I'll reiterate, this is manager issue of not training and empowering staff; not the the employees fault. read more
