This Sussex McDonald's is consistently and for years, the worst one I ever go to. I haven't been to this one in a long time because it's consistently so bad, yet once again, it couldn't even meet my very low expectations. It's a McDonald's, so I don't expect much but this place seems to always find a way to lower the bar. Today the fries were once again cold, but what really annoyed me was I asked for extra tartar sauce on my fillet fish (which the clerk must've heard me because it was on the ticket for ) and I actually got less than I would normally get without asking for extra at any other McDonald's. If this is extra, I wonder how little tartar sauce they would've given me had I not said anything at all. One thing about McDonald's is the food is consistent, but this place goes the extra mile at being terrible for its service. Especially since the one in Pewaukee is actually much better than your average McDonald's store. I'm officially done going to this one no matter how convenient it is location-wise. read more

Drive thru was horrible. They got our order wrong twice and the employee had an ear bud in one of his ears. I complained to the manager after waiting over 10 minutes for them to answer. I spoke to a manager and explained what happened she apologized and said she would give us a free meal. I said no this bigger issue is that the child who was working there had an ear bud in his ear and this was very unprofessional and rude. She agreed but didn't even address that she would have a talk with that employee Never again. I am so upset with the service! I will Not be going to that location ever again. read more

They are very slow and they have terrible customer service and half of the time they forget some of your food

So this happens to me all the time. Whenever there are adults working it's fine. But for some reason they leave this store to kids after 6:00PM. Whenever I order something after 6:00PM I never get my order. They say it's not available anymore or the order is cold. And yeah they are rude! read more

This McDonald's used to be faster through the drive-thru now it takes all day to get your food

I visited 3/1/2020. It was about 8:00 AM. Drive thru line was quite long so I went inside. One person was taking care of all packaging of drive thru orders and customers. I'd have been better off in drive thru. Guy in front of me wanted all fresh made food. I had somewhere to be. I DID get my order before his! What really got me though was this young man taking our orders looked like he had just rolled out of bed. His hair was longish, stringy and did not look clean. No pony tail or "man bun." Just this hair sticking out all over around the visor he wore. Sundays appear to only have kids working. I think management needs to take a better look at employees appearance. I wish I had never seen this..... Otherwise food is good! read more

My "favorite" story about this particular store is how they managed, on two separate occasions, to give me McChicken sandwiches....that had no chicken. Yep, you read that right. One star rating was too much! Half a star is too much also. Waiting 15 minutes in drive through for 2 coffees and they were taking orders in only one line of drive through. Normal mcdonalds. Just really sad seeing the manager lady mistreat this 14 year old worker. Constantly interrupting him while taking my order to yell commands and bumped right into him at the register without an apology. I strongly suggest finding another place to eat and skipping this McDonald's. For whatever reason, we keep giving them a chance even though almost every order we get here is missing something or just wrong. Today we went and we ordered 2 large soda's. Mine was a medium and my husband's was a large. I also got a buttermilk chicken sandwich and it randomly had bacon on it. Not that I'm complaining about that part, just showing how they ALWAYS mess things up. We use the mobile app to order so we always double check when we get home so we know it's not us making the mistake. Nope. Just expect to pay for items you'll never get if you come here. This has to got to be the most shit mcdonald's ever. Went through the drive through to pickup my online order which was just a drink and a large fries... that's it. Also keep in mind they didn't even need to take payment from me... When i pulled up to the window to receive my two items, the chick at the window at first couldn't even find my order, when she finally did she handed me my fries and my drink with no straw and before I could even get the words "I need a straw" out of my mouth, this chick yells in my face "HAVE A NICE DAY".... I ordered 2 hamburgers, small fry and a medium iced tea from this location's drive thru. There were two cars ahead of me. The first car obviously had a somewhat large order that took some time. No big deal. The next car pulls ahead and is told to wait for their order. I pull up after paying at the first window and I was told to pull ahead behind the other car. As time passes, car after car behind me is quickly served and sent on their way. FIFTEEN minutes later both the car ahead and myself are finally given our meals. A manager came out and handed us 2 free burger coupons. A nice gesture but I've experienced awful service here numerous times in the past year or so and now I will be taking my business elsewhere. This location has shown time and time again that it does NOT appreciate my business or my time. I've been coming to this McDonald's for 21 years. Never again after today. read more

I'm giving them three stars because the food is dank but honestly I have never met a more rude person. The guy at the first window who was younger was very nice and polite and took his time patiently with me and my friends decided what we wanted. But the guy and the second window had absolutely no customer service. He said no hello or nothing just shoved the drinks at us. He gave us out first bag and I asked for some extra sauces and he damn near jumped out the window and was like "HUHHHHH, I'm sorry I have to charge you" and I'm like okay so I pull out my wallet but he shuts the window. and then shuts the window. Opens it up a few seconds later and hands us the rest of our food and tell us we don't actaully have to pay for the sauce and shuts the window. Worst McDonalds in Waukesha County. Just today, I waited 20 min for fries that were never brought out while I watched a worker outside walk up to the drive thru window to goof around with a worker inside. Finally drove around and asked for the fries I'd been waiting for and watched through the window as a worker proceeded to dump a pound of salt on my fries so they were not edible. They also are too dumb to count to four since my child got seven stale chicken nuggets instead. They also don't know the difference between sweet and sour sauce and BBQ. This is the typical experience at this McDonald's, avoid it at all costs. There's another one two miles down the road that's 100 times better. This franchisee needs to get a grip on his low IQ, lazy staff or just get McDonald's out of this town. read more

I stopped in for a fish sandwich because I was starving! The sandwich was all BUN and the FISH was a 2 x 2 square that was a 1/4 inch thick breaded fish slice that was chewy and old with a 1/3 slice of cheese and two dollops of tartar sauce. Disgusting... this is probably why I quit eating at McDonalds years ago. My second regret was that I didn't take a picture of it to show how ridiculous it was. They never give you the receipt probably because they know you will give them a bad review. Multiple times gone through the drive through and they have left items out or completely wrong. Something doesn't seem right? I've lived in the area for over twenty years. Never had a complaint about the food or service of this location. But recently, two things really stuck out to me. Twice now I've come through the Drive Thru to find out this store was out of stock on their Buttermilk Chicken. Out of Stock? When is a McDonalds ever out of stock of something? And just yesterday, I ordered a Filet o Fish sandwich, and noticed that they only used a half piece of american cheese on the bottom, where normally they always use a full slice of cheese. It would seem to me that they are cutting corners, or cannot afford to be the full service and full menu McDonalds that you would come to expect. read more

If I could give this experience zero stars, I would. Several times during their later hours I have gone in the drive through and it literally took half an hour while there were only two cars. Today however, the employees were rude to the customers, including myself. One of the male employees actually asked a customer if he wanted to "fight him". It took three employees to take my order ( I only ordered a burger and an ice cream cone). While I was sitting in the restaurant a group of the female employees sat down nearby and began to gossip loudly about their co-workers. When one of the girls was asked to make a shake for a customer she said no and proceeded to "hide" behind part of the architecture. Now my professional standards for McDonalds are not high, but this was ridiculous. I did some research and this branch is not corporately owned but I have found no way to get in touch with the branch owner. Hope this was helpful. read more

I go to this McDonalds all the time and it is great! Every time I go through the drive through, my order is ready as soon as I get there. There is usually no wait which is unusual for a McDonalds and is why I love it so much. To make it better, I went this past night and the workers gave me a free ice cream even after I offered to pay. I know it doesn't sound like a big deal, but I really appreciated the kindness of the workers and I will continue to come back every time I can! They always continue to impress me. read more
