My name is Bradley Arduino and i had worked at this McDonald's for four years (i quit a few months ago) and I've seen the worst things done with peoples food. I have also been injured on multiple occasions and there hasn't been a single accident report. In detail I had been working back booth and while i was working back there i went to tell the kitchen to fix an order they messed up (because the meat was still raw), while back there I got a glimpse of one employee wiping up mayo, off the floor, with a bun and make it into a sandwich while a manager (watching them do this) gave it out to a customer. I have had my hand broken in a fight between a manager and a costumer over a McChicken. I have seen an employee make a caramel frappe but instead of caramel syrup they used sweet and sour(because they were mad at the customer). Then there were multiple times i had been threatened (by employees) over the littlest of things. This place is not at all family friendly as there is always gang related violence. Even with this new owner, the old owners seemed to have done a much better job at keeping this place some what orderly. I will never work in fast food ever again because of this. I really hope this place gets shut down for the employees sake. read more

Absolutely awful. Order did not include quarterpounder. The fries were cold, the crispy chicken had no chicken only crisp and the four piece crispy chicken tasted as if it had been fried in the same oil the fish may have been fried in. COVID-19 during this pandemic I would highly recommend you avoid this McDonald's. Was passing through and thought I would get my daughter some food. On 503-2020 at 7:36 PM I waited in line for a half an hour to order food. That was not a problem because of the situation going on right now. When I got up to the window and paid I noticed the car in front of me grab a bag and had it in her car for a short amount of time maybe 3 to 4 minutes and she gave it back to one of the employees in the drive-through. They had gotten the orders mixed up. When I proceeded up to the second window to get my food the bag that was handed to me was the one they handed to the car in front. When I seen the young man trying to give me the bag I told him I did not want it and told him what I saw. This employee told me the person he gave it to did not even open it and she didn't have it for that long. Needless to say these workers are not trained for COVID-19. The old black man who checked me out would not give me a refund unless I drove back around in the line and wait another half hour to get my money back. I did not think it was necessary to do that as he could've took my receipt and card at the second window went to the back register did the refund come back with the paper I had to fill out and it would've been over with.But that was not the case he called the police on me four squad cars showed up. Just to tell me that I need to go around and do what he says. Well that did not diffuse the situation with me because now I am extremely upset after waiting an hour to get my money back.Whiting police Took no precautions at all during this pandemic. McDonald's did not take precautions at all during this pandemic. They were handling business like there was no pandemic going on. McDonald's employees did not have on gloves. The all black man who was cashing people out did not have on gloves. While going around touching stuff and not once sanitizing his hands. There was no 6 feet from me at anytime from employees or police I had to put my mask on. Attention business there are people like me who have low immune system's who cannot afford to get sick especially COVID-19. This McDonald's needs to practice better cleanliness and hygiene when handling food. I will be contacting the health department and CDC. Whomever is mayor needs to make sure his town Businesses are following state mandated rules and regulations. This old black man needs to be fired after yelling at me and my husband. I am happy that this McDonald's hires special needs people like him however, he does not need to be in any position dealing with customers.Tradewinds in Merrillville can help him with procuring a job that suits people like him who are Special needs. They told me his name was Kenny but the receipt says Sidel. Well Sidel should not be in any type of restaurant service. Also this McDonald's needs to have older managers instead of young kids. The Whiting McDonald's has to be the absolute most dysfunctional restaurant in the history of the chain. I've probably stopped in there around ten times since I moved to the area. I have yet to experience any resemblance to a normal functioning McDonald's restaurant. Tonight was no different. I waited 20 minutes in the drive thru only to discover when I got home that I was given the wrong flavored shake. I'm done with that place. I will now go the extra mile to Chicago for now on. This place is alright. The service is fine. The food is fine. I don't know though.. it's just not the same thing. See this place did the opposite of what the North Hammond location did. In North Hammond they replaced a sucky one with a good one. In Whiting they replaced the coolest McDonalds ever with this one. It doesn't suck, but it doesn't rock either. The old one did. To have to walk in one day to order my food was a huge mistake. It took almost 40 minutes to receive my food. It was like all the workers were in lala land and moving like they only had one customer when in fact they were packed outside and had 3 more customers after me. Came in with my wife and daughter, to sit and eat. All the tables were absolutely filthy, it took 15 minutes for them to make a double quarter pounder with cheese add bacon , large drink and large fry. My wife ordered herself and my daughter McNuggets and fries and a drink. Apparently the cashier didn't hear me when I said large drink and fry because he gave me a medium. Our fries were completely unsalted. No ketchup for anyone. While sitting here eating 12 people brought their orders back because they were wrong. It's really bad when live less than a mile from McDonalds in Whiting but you have to drive over to the one in East Chicago so that you can get what you order and it's fresh/hot. I sat in line for almost 10 mins tonight. I finally got my food (burgers with no onion and Diet Coke). One of my burgers had had the onions scraped off (a few were missed) and the second one had probably 3 times the amount of onions. AND I received a regular coke. Yuck! If people would boycott this location or make certain to call the survey number, MAYBE they would do something about it. The drive thru line is slow as all hell, not to mention when you finally reach the window they have you park your car in the lot So they can bring it out to You. I am so upset at the service I received at this McDonalds! I sent my employee to pick up 4 sundaes. My employee came back to the office with 4 ice creams. I believe a sundae has nuts and a topping? If I could pick 0 stars I would. Service was terrible, and this happened right now about 20 min ago. I pull up to the drive thru and there was only 2 cars ahead of me and it took long for me to order. And then it took like 10 min to pay and 10 minutes to get my food.
