Have had takeout orders before but sat in and dined in today. I had the veggie skillet, and my husband had the melting pot skillet, both with wheat toast and orange juice. Both came out quickly were fresh and delicious. Food has always been good in the past as well. Service is always friendly and helpful. Would recommend. Thank you for the coupons to use on future orders. Only wish they were open on Sunday's mornings for breakfast/brunch, but everyone deserves time off, too. read more

We were visiting the area and needed to grab a bite before heading to an event in the area. Located in a neat downtown area, we decided to give it a try. The restaurant was very busy during our visit; with plenty of people eating there and numerous orders being picked up. We are there and found it to be clean and comfortable. They offer a huge menu with pastas, wraps, wings and more. Not looking for a real heavy meal, we ordered a Buffalo chicken wrap (with tots) and a Grilled chicken pita fajita with home cooked chips. I enjoyed the flavorful and saucy wrap. My dining partner enjoyed her chicken on a pita. I snuck a couple chips but thought they were pretty unremarkable. Overall, the food was good and the price was reasonable. That is a pretty great combo any day of the week! read more

Came into Grillers after visiting the Mascot Hall of Fame to grab some grub. My husband got the BBQ bacon cheddar burger since he insists in burgers everywhere, but I can't judge as I went for the club sandwich which is usual for me. I am interested in going to try more from their expansive menu because their pasta looks delicious. I devoured my sandwich and I will admit I loved the addition of avocado, which is not usual for a classic club sandwich. Their fries were pretty good as well, but I have had better. My husband loved his burger as much as I liked my sandwich and he also admitted he would like to come back to try more of their menu. read more

Last week me and my family stopped by a favorite of ours Grillers, after me and my son got haircuts at wonderful The Mustache Lounge. We ate in the dining room and I will say man Grillers knows how to make a good bacon cheeseburger! For me any cheeseburger with jalapeños will always have my heart and soul and the sweet potato fries I got were perfectly salty and sweet, a great side to a good ole cheeseburger. My wife loves the veggie wrap it's her go to and my son got the BBQ chicken sandwich (they ate it too quick so I couldn't get a picture) We will be back soon Grillers!! Well.... Creamy basil pesto pasta dish is super yummy! Almost enough to share with someone. Chicken and veggies (soup of the day), LOTS of veggies, no chicken, super salty. Italian beef sandwich, I cannot say enough good things! Tender, flavorful, moist, fresh bread, giardiniera is delightful. Fries are good. I ordered Caesar salad with choice NY strip. Salad, fresh and good. Dressing is a little tangy but really good. Steak.....NO, NO, NO. Cooked at least 2 hours ago. I politely asked the owner to make me a fresh one, that mine was crispy and rock hard. Her response "For real?". Yes for real please. She promptly followed me to my table to take the old steak. Food tastes absolutely fresh! Dinner experience feels really down to earth and great to spend with friends on a late night. Really recommend the buffalo wings! Foods good, service is not. Called to make sure the pasta I ordered wasn't spicy, was told no, it was, no refund which was ok given, which ok because it's a poblano pepper pasta. Then proceeded to order the sundried tomato pasta with shrimp, because I'm pescatarian and got chicken. When I called was told "well you were charged for the chicken". Basic customer service skills you apologize for the inconvenience and or mistake and make a new order. We had to go back a 3rd time just to eat. read more

The food was not bad at all, however they need to learn to listen to what's the customer says they want on the food, as our orders were messed up with different seasonings and toppings that we asked not to put on there. My only word of advice would be make sure to check your order before you leave. Although not a bad option if you don't have much to choose from. read more

I try to be kind to Whiting, IN. If you drive from Chicago over the Skyway bridge, you understand why the Place-With-No-Starbucks deserves your charity. Grillers is hanging on by a thread. Internet service is gone. TVs don't work. They are open for breakfast, but have no breakfast menu. One table rocks, a leg out of joint... Locals clearly enjoy the place: Why? Quick Quantities of food needed to survive their hardscrabble existences in factories and mills. My $8.00 3 egg omelette arrived with enough undercooked, diced potatoes to feed a family in Ireland for a week! It came with toast in case one needed More Carbs, and a side of three strips of see-through bacon (cheapest grade possible, and sill be bacon). Hot coffee kept flowing. We've had burgers from here and the tuna sandwich. My husband and I loved both selections. We've been here several times and always order those two things. The service is fast, friendly and relaxed. We're never rushed when making decisions, and there ARE decisions to be made. The tuna is well done, so don't expect a sear. We haven't dined in, we've always gone to order inside, the restaurant is clean, open and casual. read more

We were on our way to Ann Arbor from downtown Chicago and decided to stop in here for some quick lunch. The place is small and was packed when we showed up at 1245. You place your order and pay at the front before finding a table to sit at. My dad and I both ordered the blackened Cajun chicken wrap with tater tots. My mom ordered the carne asada wrap with French fries. We all loved our food. The meats were juicy and flavorful. The vegetables in both wraps were fresh and crisp. The avocado in the carne asada wrap was especially good. The tater tots were really good with a crunchy outer shell. The French fries were not that good. They are your basic French fries, frozen not fresh. Overall this place was extremely good and had reasonable prices. If I am ever in Whiting or the surrounding area again I would definitely stop here. read more

As I was ordering my food not getting done with what I'm ordering the woman taking my order assumes what I want from 1 word and without my yes she sets up the order. Of course she made it seem as if I had ordered what I wanted but instead when I was given the food at my table it obviously want what I ordered because with the free coupon we had it only listed 5 foods in which I was given one that wasn't even on the menu. Do not come here especially since the burger I was given instead of my food wasn't even good. read more

Came down to work at refinery in Calumet. I got out for lunch so looked on yelp for restaurants . This picture should say it all but it was awesome. I got sun dried stuff chicken and was juicy. The bow tie noodles and sauce tasted good also. Also came with a soup or salad and I got soup. Enchilada something or another. It sure seemed like every order was made fresh. Went on Saturday with the family and I ordered blacken chicken wrap with veggies. When it arrived to the table I was the only that told the server my order was wrong it had tatter tots instead of veggies. She took the plate back to the cook and she told him it was wrong. The chef head visible from the table argued with her that it was right. So he sent her back with the same plate with no changes. The server asked me again if I was sure that if was not right. At the point I made a mistake by just not taking that plate as it was. She then took it back again to the cook where he started huff and puffing while giving me the ugliest looks and who knows what he did to my food but I can't prove it since you can't really see due to the countertop height. I then got the plate the way I ordered it with the veggies. But, it is now Monday and I have been sick since. Be warned folks. The server was apologetic at the very least. read more

my family decided that we would order local (Whiting) take-out at least once a week, to support restaurants that are staying open. we haven't gotten anything from Grillers in a while so fingers crossed... well everything was fantastic! HUGE burgers (no way could I finish one - other half is tomorrow's lunch!), mountain of seasoned fries. Everything was fresh, cooked & put together nicely. Much, much better than any fast food chain and really, only a couple bucks more. Worth every penny. SUPPORT LOCAL, FAMILY-OWNED EATERIES! (p.s. Now who knows what they're putting in the food it's all bland but over done like a bougie Taco Bell disguised as an authentic Mexican restaurant. Place looks nice and has nice staff but the food is far from your Tito's/Tia's or abuelo/a's comfort Mexican food. Even the beans were overly added to and tasted like canned cheap slop. Rice was very plain but plain rice pairs well with the properly cooked and seasoned food. It's been years since I ate here and I don't know what happened to the quality of the food here but I will not be returning again.

The Jerk Burger was burger-elite amoung the ranks from some of the top burger places in Chicago. Pretzel roll, amazing silky beef, spiced just right and some of the freshest most flavorful jalapenos I've had to date (had to have come out of her garden). They even manage to make beans and rice out of this world. Service is always great. Quality control is #1 here - everything is beyond fresh. It's like something Rick Bayless would serve his friends and family. Eat here. Phone first.
