Was visiting my dad in Conway this past weekend and McFadden's was a short 3 minute drive from his house. I was a little skeptical about going in - I was worried it would be a 'regulars only' type vibe and I wouldn't feel welcome, but I'm so glad I gave it a chance!!! We went all three nights I was there and every night I had a great experience. While there were definitely a lot of regulars, the bartenders made a wonderful effort to make us feel included - asking our names and even the cook came out and introduced himself and shook our hands. It was a very nice environment. Drinks were super affordable, as was the food. I didn't have high hopes for the food, but both the wings and the italian sub were delicious! $9 for an italian sub with onion rings? Can't beat the price, as well as $3 bud light drafts. They also have drink specials all the time (free drink for fathers on fathers day and other discounts for themed days)! And karaoke and live bands and pool, what more could a bar offer?! read more

I used to come here when I was I went to CCU and it was called Dirty Debs I think. I was staying around the corner for Thanksgiving weekend so a couple of us decided to stop in for drinks the night before turkey day. This is 100 percent a divey locals spot which puts it in my favorite class of bars. If that's not what you're into, then don't expect anything else. You can tell some of the old timers are skeptical of newbies in their bar, but we were respectful and and made fast friends. People were saying the food was solid but I didn't eat. I do know the drinks were cheap, they had pool tables, plus everyone from the staff to the patrons were friendly and having a good time. I'll definitely go back when I'm in town. read more

There is a GREAT Cook called Justin there...Not only does he make the best wings, burgers and steak sandwiches.....But, he follows up and visits you to see if you need anything else - Like more sauce! First stop last week. Enjoy playing Buzztime and they have it there. Beer prices very neighborhood friendly. Other people tell me the food is good. They have pool tables and comfortable bar. This place seemed rather sleazy to me; this was my first impression. The girl who tended me was drunk, high or both as she repeatedly forgot the very few things for which I asked (like napkins and a very common mixed drink). I asked for a common drink then she proceeded to pour a very opposite mixture; she was clearly really impaired. Not at all unkind but it was a turn-off! The menu is quite small, mainly just bar food so don't expect much else. I guess this bar just wasn't my taste but I can see how it may appeal to some, particularly smokers since it's a smoking bar and there's also pool tables. read more

If I could give y'all a . 05 star I would. The bartender/owner, jess, is a complete wreck. To start off jess did cocaine in the bar bathroom (with customers/gf) multiple times through out the night ON THANKSGIVING which turned her into a complete mess. Jess and a male bartender called "last call". You would think the bartenders would be serving last call drinks but nooooo. Jess was having a conversation with two friends (after last call) for at least five minutes. Since I couldnt get her attention, and I was LAST CALL, I had to waived a $20 bill in the air to get her attention. Jess then proceeded to say "don't waive money at me that's disrespectful" which is understandable, if she was doing her job, but jess threw a fit like a child proceeding to charge me for drinks I didn't receive. If jess was coherent enough to do her job I wouldn't have needed to waive money at her to get me a drink(since the male bartender was not in the bar pit). As the saying goes "the customer is always right". Jess not only disrespected her customers but she degraded her place of business, McFaddens. Regardless if it's an "Irish" bar or not you should never be a bartender with a drinking/ drug problem. Completely embarrassing and disgusting on Jess's behalf. Hope she gets the help she needs. If you do decide to contribute to Jess's worrisome life, at least tip her so she can go to rehab. Mcfaddens, the definition of hillbilly trash, and if you want to get high off narcos this is your place. Good luck jess! read more

The prices are the only good thing about this place. The bartender was playing a game of pool while "bartending" the guy that brought out our food was smoke a cigarette(I know it's a bar but employees shouldn't be smoking inside on the job.) Also the pretzel was burnt and was served with gas station cheese not beer cheese. I would recommend staying home before I'd recommend going here. read more

I writing this because I read Cactusman B's review and it upset me. My experience was so different. And it made me ask--what does one want to experience in a bar?? Could this bar be considered a dive--I guess. If a dive means that their is a strong neighborly feel to the place, and everyone is warm and friendly. I didn't notice if my wine glass matched anyone else's. Or a particularly strong sense of smoke. Honestly I could care less. I sat next to the owners wife, Dianne last night and I found her to be friendly, warm and very hospitable. This is particularly where my experience was completely different from Cactusman B's. In fact I refused a shot she offered me, and told her I wanted tea instead to ensure that I could make it to my hotel room sober. She consulted with the bartender Shelly and they offered me a cold sweet tea. Being the pain in the ass I can be--I told them I preferred hot tea. Shelly said she couldn't get to it immediately and so Dianne got up, went behind the bar, and get me hot tea with honey in a mug. I was thrilled. Dumb--perhaps--she didn't tell anyone to charge me for the tea. But nice and warm and I truly felt cared for. Also, Shelly never charged me for my second glass of wine because she said she finished the bottle and when she asked if I wanted it filled--I refused and told her that would be my last anyway. So she didn't charge me. Dumb perhaps, but lovely nonetheless. I found the food delicious and reasonable, and the company great. I would go to this place if you want to feel like you are really ready to enjoy a fabulous community--where everyone wants to know you and help care for you. I'll take this warm caring, cheap dive anyday. read more
