Myra Canyon Trails offers spectacular views of the canyon, 2 tunnels and 18 trestle bridges. You can ride a bike or hike this easy & flat 24km trail. My friends and I decided to bike this section and I was the only one who didn't own a bike. Myra Canyon Bicycle Rental & Tours (MCBRT) was recommended by another friend who had rented from them. From beginning to end, my communication with MCBRT was great. My email inquiry was answered within a day and they were accommodating to my needs. Upon arrival, I whizzed through the line as I completed everything on-line and then given a quick overview & test of the bike. When I finished the bike ride, I just follow the signs to where to return the bike and helmet. I would certainly rental from them again as their bikes are well maintained. Tips: MCBRT is located at the Myra Station parking lot. The road up to the parking lot is bumpy and on a gravel road. Our car made it up in 20 minutes once off road with no problems so just go slowly on big turns. Myra Canyon Bike Rentals offers 2 bike rental times: morning (9am-1pm) and afternoon (1:30pm-5:30pm) and easy to book on their website. I couldn't be there at these start times but they accommodated me. Bring snacks and lots of water. We bought sandwiches and stopped for lunch at one of the many viewpoints to enjoy. No water fountains or concession stands on the trail. Bathroom breaks: there are 3 outhouses along the trail. The first one is at Myra Station parking lot. Take your time: the trail can be completed relatively quickly but where we lose the time is stopping for photos for and with the canyons, trestles and tunnels. We could easily spend 4 hours on the trail.

Myra Canyon is located approximately 18 kilometres southeast of downtown Kelowna. Best access to…read morethe Canyon is by way of McCulloch Road and Myra Forest Service Road to Myra, the east entrance to the eighteen trestles and two tunnels. The Okanagan Mountain fire of 2003 destroyed or damaged many of the trestles, but they have now all been fully restored. The old railway bed can be walked or cycled with ease and there is plenty to see along the way. The land is basically level so there are no impediments to handicapped access. The original railway was built between 1912 & 1914 and was part of the " Coast to Kootenay" railway line that linked Midway, in British Columbia's Boundary District , with the Canadian Pacific Railway main line at Hope. The railway carried freight and passengers through the Myra Canyon until service ended in 1964. The tracks were removed in 1980. A safe and scenic location for all the family.

During approx. two-hour bike fit which was offered with the purchase, Marty (sorry, if I spelled your name wrong) took his time, checking every single detail and consistently ensuring that everything felt right for me. I ended up switching the handlebar, the stem, and the seat, all in-house. I also upgraded my tires to tubeless and received a very generous discount on them. My partner, who has bought several bikes from different shops in Vancouver, was equally impressed. He mentioned that the experiences he's had in town don't even come close to this one. I can't recommend this place enough. The 9-hour drive was absolutely worth it!
