She only allowed 1 "pet parent" into the building at a time which allowed my ex to remove my name from the billing paperwork and allowed him to claim "ownership" even though legally the dog belongs to me. When it was brought to their attention they refused to rectify the situation and essentially helped my ex steal my dog. Piss poor example of a human and even less of a vet. My ex travels over an hour 1 way because this vet ran his chip years ago and informed my ex that if he brings MY dog to another vet they would be forced to call the police because legally the dog is mine and his chip has been registered as stolen so the new vet would be forced to call the authorities. Instead of doing this herself she chooses to continue abetting a criminal. read more

My experience at McGregor Vet Clinic was terrible. I do not recommend this clinic. I came in with my brand new Kitty. Dr. Jones made us wait an entire hour before even putting us in a room. There are no chairs to sit on while you wait, just concrete benches with no backs so I was definately uncomfortable. But worst yet, my Kitty was in destress crying the entire hour. I do not understand why the receptionist didn't try to help or offer a reschedule, or even tell me why the Dr. was so late, if the doctor wasn't available. When Dr. Jones finially showed she was very indigant , mean and uncaring. She showed no compassion for my kitty. The check up was also 2 times the cost of elsewhere. I am definately going elsewhere. read more

I understand that this is a business, but prioritizing money over what's best for the animals is unacceptable. I've been a loyal customer here since moving to the area, but I've always had reservations about the vets themselves. Dr. Butts shows care for the animals, but she clearly plays favorites. If your pet isn't one of them, she rushes through appointments and lacks bedside manner. Despite this, I might have continued here if it weren't for our recent visit with Dr. Jones, which was my last straw. I'm very anxious about vet visits because Scooby, my dog of nearly ten years and best friend, was 11 1/2 years old. I was honest with Dr. Jones about his symptoms--excessive drinking and panting, along with his small liver he has had issues his whole life--and asked her to look into it. Instead, she dismissed it as unrelated and insisted on testing for Cushings, brushing off my concerns and even telling me to relax, saying all dogs eventually die. She performed a blood test, confirming a thyroid issue but still insisted on the expensive Cushings test. She handled Scooby roughly, causing him to react fearfully, which was distressing since he's usually calm for a dog during shots. Four weeks later, we had to say good bye due to liver failure. How could a vet miss such a critical diagnosis? Liver failure doesn't develop overnight. She continued to push for more tests, ignoring Scooby's actual condition, which Fetch Veterinary confirmed Cushings isn't something she should have even brought up due to other issues we told her. It became clear why she insisted on expensive tests--it wasn't about his health but about inflating my bill. While it was Scooby's time, it's disheartening that the vet who owns this practice overlooked his liver issues and focused on costly tests. Animals should always come first. I would have paid any amount to save Scooby, and it's appalling that she missed something so crucial. Other pet owners have faced similar issues here, where they have pushed unnecessary tests even when it's clear the pet's time has come. I regret not trusting my instincts and seeking care elsewhere. Even the $500 bill and the front desk staff praising their affordability should have been a red flag. Despite this, I commend the kindness of the front desk staff--they are truly wonderful people. It's a shame the vets don't emulate their compassion. read more

Can I give zero stars? I am so disgusted with this place. I gave a gentle, fair and honest review of this place a month ago and today, when my cat was supposed to be seen once again for a UTI that hasn't gone away under their care, they canceled my appointment because they read my 3 star review. That if I was really so unhappy I should go somewhere else. On a Friday. At the last minute. I already waited a day to be seen and my cat had a seizure again as a result of her infection this morning. Really? I said, so rather than take my feedback and address the concerns and repair the relationship, your decision is to make it worse? They said I could go find another vet. It's like they've got a petulant teenager running things over there. In my original review, I stated that in general I was still happy with the place and loved my cats doctor. And still I've been blacklisted for giving feedback? Incredible. I read the other reviews from other former patients that said they blacklisted them for giving feedback and I honestly thought that since I wasn't unreasonable, that they would never do that to me. I'm here to tell you they absolutely did. I'm disgusted with a place that would harm an animal by delaying care because they feel sassy about someone's honest experience there. It's either that or they're trying to punish me financially by forcing me to go to an emergency clinic. Staff and Dr are so rude. Boarded my dog there and when got bill there was allot of add ons Such as meds and bath. I understand bath but at least tell me your adding $50 for it and why give steroids to my pet when boarded when no health issues and no one called to notify me you were doing so. I called every day to see how my puppy was doing and no one ever mentioned. You just get a surprise bill. Dr was extremely rude when talked with her. She said I'm in charge when your animal is in my care Yes correct but at least let me know. Also was told someone was there at night For boarding Nope last time dog is let out is like 5ish. This butz vet who claims to be an expert is not experienced in accupuncture.... she reads from a book while treating a pet as she is so unqualified and inexperienced! She is a danger to all pets! Don't let your pet be her Guinea pig. We had to have our dog euthanized soon after this treatment as he was jolted excessively til his body went into a tremor. After taking him home he could no longer sit up or stand and had to be hand fed while we supported his head! She also shared with us how hard it was to get through Veterinary school saying she thought she'd never make it! Anyone can get certified or licensed online and go on to brag how great they are! Don't let her bosses fancy building fool you!! Pass this place up and go to a real vet! Your pets life will be in jeopardy otherwise.... I had an emergency with my senior golden retriever. McGregor Boulevard veterinarian got me in within one hour of my phone calls. The veterinarian, spent time with my pup and diagnosed him with a stiff neck. We went home with anti-inflammatories and a bill under $200. I was very pleased with everything. Responding to Linda. Initially I was skeptical at first for various reasons. Now I wouldn't take our pets to anyone else. They might be a tad bit more expensive but you gets the care, quality and experience back in spades. The staff is top notch and will gladly give helpful tips over the phone. read more

They've changed. Tried to pressure us to do their expensive dental. When our groomer got us a visiting vet who did it at 30% of their price, they told us we had mutually agreed to go elsewhere when we called to get our sick dog in. Afterward they did call to apologize for the misunderstanding, but what?! We did go elsewhere!!! read more

I needed to establish a Doc for my puppy. I was disappointed in the previous clinic we used, for our old girl that had to go over the rainbow, so I began searching. After reading reviews, I decided on Mcgregor. I'm so glad I chose them! The staff is so kind, caring and knowledgeable. They can get you in usually that day or next if there's a problem. Their prices are cheaper than the other clinics I called as well. The facility is new, clean and modern, which many others I toured were old smelly and dirty! read more

Don't bring your animals here. It's twice as expensive for meds and visits, and service is terrible. They diagnosed our dog with heart disease for two years. Every month we payed $200 in meds. They recommended taking our dog to the heart doctor. So we got a second opinion and they diagnosed completely different. Within days our dog was doing much better. Please don't bring your animals here. It may take some time but you'll see they are only interested in money. read more

What a horrible vet... Took my 2 dogs here on 2 separate occasions. Each time, I left paying for services that I did not ask for. For example, things that are optional for a dog ( like glucosamine) $60 was put on my bill with out asking... they told me he "needed it" like it was a prescription. The second time I brought my dog in for a possible uti infection and charged us for several different things except for a urine analysis because she would not pee. When I returned with a sample later that day they tried to upcharge $30 more than what was previously quoted because we "dropped off" instead of "in house" whatever that means. I feel this vet does not work in the best interest of their clients and up charge any chance they can. We were only trying to get our dog the help and meds she needed to be well. I also feel that the lead vet Lura Jones is very sneaky with billing , unprofessional, and rude! I will not be returning nor do I recommend anyone going there. After trying several vets, we finally found the one we trust. I can always get an appointment almost immediately if necessary when I call. Dr. Jones is so friendly, understanding, comforting and assuring. She's performed surgery on one of our cats who was very old. He recovered nicely and lived about two years after that. Way to long of story. Incident happened in May and have been dumb founded and just didn't know if I should slam them or let it go. Been eating at me so I've got slam them. Was patient with 3 dogs since a little after they opened. Brooke had a meltdown and lied to the Dr and said I was yelling at her. WOW. I called left message for Dr to call me, she did and was disinterested in what I had to say. I'm a business Owner and I would have handled differently. I am no longer a patient and would gladly take my dogs elsewhere.I now go to Pets First Animal Hospital. Up until this incident I was very pleased , except of course they are very costly, but I'm sure they have to be for the million dollar+ building they need to finance. read more

The staff there has no compassion starting with the front desk to Dr Jones! First my dog was misdiagnosed than when they figured it out I was told if I did all the things I was told my dog would live longer ! My dog was older so I was doing everything I needed to give her more time. I just wanted her to past away in peace ! They miss lead me on her time remaining and didn't give me the information I needed to know that she was really suffering after about 3000 dollars in 2 months I had to put her down ! She was suffering and the Dr Jones had a hard time putting her down couldn't find a vein not to mention she kept telling me she was dying and that's why she was having a hard time ! We also waited 10 minutes for her to get in the room while my little dog suffered! From the beginning of my dogs illness she argued with questions I asked like I was being difficult! First, I wish I could give them ten stars! The person who was giving my dog a bath before I picked her up after a long weekend stay there, noticed that my dog had a lump on her neck. When I picked her up, Dr. Jones asked if she could do a needle aspiration then and there. The short story is that my dog had a thyroid carcinoma. The vet surgeon was able to excise it all, so I get to enjoy more years with my Annie. I absolutely believe they saved her life. read more

Dr. Lura Jones has been my vet for all of my fur babies for 17 years. She has gone above and beyond what anyone would expect from a vet. She actually came into her office when she was so sick just to walk me through letting go of my first fur baby. I cannot thank her enough for that gift. She and her staff truly love my babies almost as much as I do. The staff is superb, knowledgeable, and super friendly. Belinda is so good at what she does and walks me through all of the steps of what I need to do with the medications. Shannon laughs with me at my boys' antics and puts my mind at ease when I have to leave them there overnight. The new building is gorgeous and state of the art as well. She was very patient and attentive with Shadow (who is a very anxious dog) and she spent a lot of time with her. Overpriced, Arrogant and they take advantage of bad situations! I took my very sick cat here, where they proceeded to give me a "starting" quote of $470 for fluids and bloodwork tests. When I said that was extremely high, and unreasonable fees for those services they were quoting, they told me told me to go to the low cost clinic, and then billed me $100 for the vet visit, and then gave me an incorrect phone number for that clinic! I looked up the correct number, but the low cost clinic was not answering the phone, so I decided I had to bite the bullet and pay McGregor Vet's EXTRODINARY fees, knowing my back was against the wall as the cat was very sick and needed immediate help. I went back inside to McGregor Vet office, and I told them I will pay whatever their costs, and then they REFUSED SERVICE on my SICK cat because they feared I was too poor to be able to pay the other future costs that would be incurred if the bloodwork came back requiring the cat to have more services and tests! NOW I was furious. It took all my energy not to punch this vet in the face, and I am not a person like that! I told all my neighbors about my situation there, and they all said "yes, her prices are through the roof!" I called my regular vet, (but is quite a distance drive from my home) and they got me in right away, and did all the SAME work that was on the quote from McGregor Blvd Vet, and I walked away from that visit with $150 bill. $150 is totally reasonable for bloodwork. I have had many animals my entire life as I do lots of foster animal rescue volunteering, and taken them to many different vets wherever we lived, and have NEVER had such extraordinarily high estimates, and horrible service and degradation given to me, especially in the dire circumstance my cat was in. No wonder there is such an abundance of people giving up their pets because they can't afford vet service, when idiots like these guys are making me feel that I am a bad pet owner because I don't drop $470 to their clinic TO START. In order to make their bad service be heard, I am going to donate the difference of $320 to a local animal rescue where it will make much more of a difference in their hands instead of these crooks! My cat survived, and made a wonderful recovery NO thanks given to McGregor vet! read more

Dr. Jones saved my dogs life. My dog was bit by a spider. Another local vet was not able to determine what was wrong with my dog. After becoming more concerned, we sought Dr. Jones opinion. She immediately determined it was a spider bite and put together a plan for laser treatments and surgery. If it had not been for Dr. Jones, our family pet may have lost her leg or even died. The surgery was complicated but the outcome has been amazing. Surgeries can be expensive but the entire bill was very fair. Dr.Jones and her staff made a very scary experience very smooth. I'm shocked that there is a bad review for this Veterinary Clinic. I take my dog here and have had nothing but positive experiences. A few months ago I had to take my dog in for eye surgery to have a growth removed. They quoted me at between $250-$450. When I picked my pup up they only charged $180 since it wasn't as complicated as they anticipated. That's very honest in my opinion. The staff is also very friendly. You can tell they all love animals. I won't take my dog anywhere else. I've been to 3 other vets in the area and this is the best.My dog sees Dr Courtney. In the five years we have been using McGregor Vet we have been extremely happy with the service. We feel like family there. The staff has mourned with us when we've lost pets and they have celebrated with us when we adopted new pets. We could not be better satisfied with a vet! The warm, caring vets and staff have treated our Standard Poodle for about a decade as though he were their own pet, and his owners as though they were family. I am not exaggerating when I say that they have saved Mojo's life. "Dr. K" immediately suspected a life-threatening abdominal hemorrhage due to a ruptured tumor. Appropriate imaging and related tests confirmed her suspicions, so she tracked us down to recommend an immediate splenectomy. Surgery was in progress when we arrived, so we were placed in a quiet room and were given progress reports and photographs of the procedure, and were shown the excised spleen. In the days that followed, Dr. K called to share progress reports, and gave us her cell number so we could call her day or night. Mojo's recovery has been nothing short of remarkable. The beautiful pet-friendly state-of-the Art facilities are immaculate. I am an 81-year-old retiree and have experienced the practices of many vets through the years - some of them close personal friends. Believe me when I say that a veterinary practice does not get any better than this! Dr. Laura Jones has built an exemplary practice. Unreservedly recommended. read more
