I was abled to dress and undress by myself. Yes there were something's that were not up to par but as a whole, more positive than negative. When I left I felt I was leaving friends and family! Staff are overwhelmed and overworked but they (all but 1 so far) consistently show genuine caring and respect for the people they serve. Unfortunately for all, it appears administration is hell bent on saving $ on the backs of those at the bottom of the hierarchy. There are13 residents in my family member's cottage and on holidays and weekends, there's often only one caregiver on duty. They get to say it's legal because they have 'floaters' supposedly providing coverage to multiple residences. My relative's toilet has been plugged the last 2 times Ive visited and I have had to plunge it until it clears. Multiple rooms have the same issue. Over Christmas, they ran out of tissues and paper napkins so brown paper towels for Christmas meals?! Families needto stay vigilant and document the stains on the floors that stay there for weeks because maintenance department couldn't care less and apparently aren't expected to care or repair. So dissatisfied after hearing The Cottages wasn't great but was at least decent. Not anymore.

I spoke with Cheryl in their office, begging her to send a nurse to look at it even though I saw one just two days ago. I have a hx of cellulitis in that leg, even from small wounds like that and I am a diabetic. She refused, saying "it's not a thing." Cheryl kept talking over me and refused to shut up so I hung up on her. I even swore at her, which I wish I didn't do but I am scared about what could happen to me. My next scheduled nursing visit is in 5 days. A lot can happen in 5 days. As a medical professional she should know this! The front of the folder they gave me says "Call us first. We may be able to help you avoid unplanned hospitalizations if we know you need our help." That's a big fat lie. I wouldn't recommend Centerwell Home Health to my worst enemy, even my ex-husband.

Thanks to the dedication and skills of the nurses, physical therapists, and occupational therapist who visited my mom on a weekly basis, she is now 100% recovered. In fact, she seems stronger and more independent than before she went into the hospital in November. Best of all, she loved each and everyone of the visiting health care professionals. Also, it gave us great peace of mind to have a nurse on call 24/7. I cannot begin to express my gratitude to the health care providers at Kindred at Home and highly recommend the agency.

From the receptionist, to the food service staff, administration and nursing; the attention and caring is heartwarming. Everyone is patient and happy to help. Melony, lead attendant, is a godsend. She knows how to listen, when to tease out a smile and smooths away worries. She is as patient explaining things the 12th time as the 1st. She even gave our parents her home phone when she went on a well deserved vacation. After a visit there, we smile and say " we are so lucky we found this place"

As a nurse myself this is abuse to any pt. The bladder scanner she was told was broken so they could not scan her anymore but yet if the doctors orders are to do so she should of been transferred out of the facility if they could not follow md orders. Every time I complained the some staff members were mean to here and rough when they did change her brief some times just removing the brief and rushed to wipe her down after sitting in urine. I was told by Heidi the nurse that mom my was straight catheter and bladder scanned every shift and yet my mom was alert and orient when I challenged that Heidi told me I know what I'm reading in her chart I stated someone is documenting for task that haven't been performed in days! Terrible place never again state informed and I pray the state goes in and sites them on tons of violations Yelp makes me add a star before posting this place deserves no stars. They waited 9 1/2 hours before calling an ambulance and sending her to the ER (my mother called me, and let me know what was going on) and their staff called me 2 hours AFTER she was in the ER. Fast forward to today. She was UNRESPONSIVE to staff for over 7 hours (NOT ONE PHONE CALL was made to either myself or my sister regarding this), my sister spoke with their "head" social worker who said they took her off 3 of her meds (thinking that's what was causing it) I then called for an update and was informed my mother was awake and laying in bed. I was on the phone with her when she informed the staff she was AGAIN unable to move at all. I called the charge nurse and asked when an ambulance was going to be called and that I wanted a phone call once the ambulance was on its way. I have been on the phone for almost a SOLID HOUR with my mother and not ONE staff member has come in to tell her an ambulance is on its way (they had a staff member come and take her BP and that was an hour ago). Still no phone call from the staff regarding an ambulance and still no one has come into her room. STAY AWAY FROM THIS FACILITY as they hire incompetent staff and can NOT determine what a medical emergency is (even if there was a NEON SIGN saying "Medical Emergency" This place needs to be closed down!
