I went there in a wheelchair, not able to walk and couldn't even hold utensils in my hands. I left there able to walk with a walker, eat using utensils, able to keep myself balanced. I was abled to dress and undress by myself. Yes there were something's that were not up to par but as a whole, more positive than negative. When I left I felt I was leaving friends and family! I would recommend The Cottages to anyone who needs rehabilitation!

Staff are overwhelmed and overworked but they (all but 1 so far) consistently show genuine caring and respect for the people they serve. Unfortunately for all, it appears administration is hell bent on saving $ on the backs of those at the bottom of the hierarchy. There are13 residents in my family member's cottage and on holidays and weekends, there's often only one caregiver on duty. They get to say it's legal because they have 'floaters' supposedly providing coverage to multiple residences. My relative's toilet has been plugged the last 2 times Ive visited and I have had to plunge it until it clears. Multiple rooms have the same issue. Over Christmas, they ran out of tissues and paper napkins so brown paper towels for Christmas meals?! Families needto stay vigilant and document the stains on the floors that stay there for weeks because maintenance department couldn't care less and apparently aren't expected to care or repair. So dissatisfied after hearing The Cottages wasn't great but was at least decent. Not anymore.

She was left sitting in stool and urine for hours and hours at a time . One time 5 hours left soiled . One of the staff at night told her that she had orders it was ok to get out of bed to her commode she even thou she was laying in still she could not change her. As a nurse myself this is abuse to any pt. The bladder scanner she was told was broken so they could not scan her anymore but yet if the doctors orders are to do so she should of been transferred out of the facility if they could not follow md orders. Every time I complained the some staff members were mean to here and rough when they did change her brief some times just removing the brief and rushed to wipe her down after sitting in urine. I was told by Heidi the nurse that mom my was straight catheter and bladder scanned every shift and yet my mom was alert and orient when I challenged that Heidi told me I know what I'm reading in her chart I stated someone is documenting for task that haven't been performed in days! Terrible place never again state informed and I pray the state goes in and sites them on tons of violations Yelp makes me add a star before posting this place deserves no stars. And if you are wondering why I didn't take her out of there I did I live in another state flew to ny and got her out !

I spoke with Cheryl in their office, begging her to send a nurse to look at it even though I saw one just two days ago. I have a hx of cellulitis in that leg, even from small wounds like that and I am a diabetic. She refused, saying "it's not a thing." Cheryl kept talking over me and refused to shut up so I hung up on her. I even swore at her, which I wish I didn't do but I am scared about what could happen to me. My next scheduled nursing visit is in 5 days. A lot can happen in 5 days. As a medical professional she should know this! The front of the folder they gave me says "Call us first. We may be able to help you avoid unplanned hospitalizations if we know you need our help." That's a big fat lie. I wouldn't recommend Centerwell Home Health to my worst enemy, even my ex-husband.

Thanks to the dedication and skills of the nurses, physical therapists, and occupational therapist who visited my mom on a weekly basis, she is now 100% recovered. In fact, she seems stronger and more independent than before she went into the hospital in November. Best of all, she loved each and everyone of the visiting health care professionals. Also, it gave us great peace of mind to have a nurse on call 24/7. I cannot begin to express my gratitude to the health care providers at Kindred at Home and highly recommend the agency.

Every time I was treated well by nursing and administrative staff and see that they have a lot to deal with, as every time I've been there has been police bringing in unruly people, some drunk, etc. They have a lot to deal with and do a great job! I was not so impressed with the doctor I saw on the first visit. He basically laughed at me wondering why I thought I might have a blood clot and then went on to laugh at me for taking vitamins and supplements and said I was wasting my money. Ummm...mind your own business? The second time I saw an NP, who was professional and took care of the issue. The third time a saw a PA who pretty much dismissed what I was there for and did not address the issue. Thankfully I was able to see my doctor shortly after that who did scan the area to see what was actually going on. So a mixed bag when it comes to doctors/NP's/PA's. It's not like I like to be at the ER late at night when I could be in bed at home. I went because I felt like I actually had an issue. Additionally, I'm self-pay. So if it was nothing I would obviously wait to see my doctor for $100 rather than go to the ER at least $1000 a pop every time I go.

Oswego Health billing department is totally inept to the point of being possibly criminal…read more I have spent way, way too much time over the past 4-5 years dealing with them for incorrect billing and co-payments. I have also contacted my insurance company several times during this period of time and it has always been the fault of Oswego Health billing. Over the past 5 years I have spoken with the Oswego Health billing Reps dozens of times. I have asked for a supervisor callback most of those times, and the billing rep has always assured me that I would be receiving a callback. I have never received a supervisor callback, even though the reps verify my contact number during our conversation. A few years ago I had called the Oswego Health billing department over another one of their coding errors. The procedure was supposed to be fully covered by my insurance with ZERO copay, but I received another bill from Oswego Health for a co-payment. When I explained to the rep that they have made another error, the rep told me to ignore that bill that I received and they have elevated it to the supervisor to resolve. I believed everything was resolved, since I wasn't receiving a phone call or any other contact... But, months later I received a terse final notice in the mail saying that my account would be sent to collections if I do not pay immediately. I contacted the OH billing department again, explained what is going on and that I need a supervisor to call me ASAP. I never received a supervisor callback... Surprised! I was not. So I called them back again and another rep assured me that this final notice is "under review" and for me to not worry about it. That's about the best you can expect from this department. The only way for me to know if any of these issues are being resolved is to call monthly to see if there is an outstanding balance on my account, since OH billing leaves you totally in the dark. So the bill that has been "under review" for over a year has finally dropped off of my account balance, but I have a new bill from a procedure from about two months ago that is fully covered with ZERO copay that I had received on July 13th. I called the OH billing department on July 14th, and told them that they have another coding error and are trying to get a co-payment from me for a procedure that is fully covered... AGAIN! The rep made notes of it and said that it will be sent to the supervisor, I again asked for a callback, even though I know that I will not receive one and the rep assured me that I will get a callback. I never received the callback. At the end of August I received another bill for this procedure, I called again and went through the same things I have been doing for years now. I demanded that I receive a callback from a supervisor. I waited two or three hours and still no return call, so I called again demanding that I be connected to a supervisor... They put me on hold for several minutes and then finally an assistant to the supervisor got on the line and said that their procedure is to return calls within 24 hours. She also said that they don't have annual diagnostic coverage that is fully covered by insurance. I couldn't believe the nonsense that she was telling me, so I quoted the procedure coverage directly from my insurance benefits. She assured me that I will receive a return call from the supervisor the next day. I told her that I never get those calls... she verified my contact number and was insistent that I will be called the next day. That was 7 days ago and still no call. This is the worst business I have ever had to deal with, and I have had to deal with T-Mobile.
