Unprofessional, didn't fix the problem but overcharged me anyway. I would never recommend this company to anyone!

I've been very impressed with the folks at Green Street Solar. Jeff Irwin, my sales guy, was very…read moreknowledgeable and explained everything extremely well. He is also super responsive to my calls and emails. Beth Blake is the office person and she is very friendly and helpful. My 8.4kW system was installed by six guys, each of whom were very professional and efficient during the 5-hr install process. These are not contractors, they are Green Street employees so they are part of the GSS team. The next day, DEC came out and inspected the install and, two days later, came out installed my new, NET meter, which determines how much electricity I'm using versus how much I'm generating. I texted the owner at Green Street to let him know I was ready to go. Russell got my system connected to the Fronius invertor app in minutes and I was generating electricity five minutes later. The next day was sunny and at 9AM in the middle of January (sun is low in the sky) the system was producing at 68% capacity. Pretty amazing! My meter was running backwards all day long, meaning, I was generating more electricity than I was using. The next two days were cloudy and I was only at around 10%. However, during the summer I should be producing plenty of credits to cover me for the winter months next year. I also had them install an outlet to charge an electric car which I'll be purchasing one day. I chose Green Street Solar because every review I read was a 5.0. There is one on Angie's list that is a 1. However, this guy's system was installed 10 years ago and I don't even think it's the right company since GSS did not exist at that time. I think he's talking about Green Street Energy located in NY. I highly recommend the team at Green Street Solar if you want to start saving on your utility bills. If there is no increase in electric rates then my payback will be about 10 years. However, given that my rate went up 36% last year, I anticipate the payback will be much sooner!

The installers did a fantastic job making sure the roof stayed impervious to rain and the elements. The install took 3 days and a 350 ft trench was needed to connect to the meter but all was done well. All questions were answered fully and Russell took plenty of time answering any questions we had before during and after the installation. Financial options were offered if needed along with SREC selling options and state and federal credits. Highly recommended. A solid, experienced company.

The owner, Elena, was very professional, always helpful when we called with questions, and A pleasure to work with. For several years, I had considered going solar, and after thorough research, I finally decided the…read moretiming was right. That's when the real work began. I was very specific about how I wanted my 10 KW system designed--both in scope and budget. I also wanted to work with an installer who was deeply familiar with the incentives available in my area. That criterion alone narrowed down the list significantly. When I began reaching out to various companies, I quickly discovered a frustrating trend: many solar installers were locked into a rigid, one-size-fits-all approach and were unable (or unwilling) to work outside of a limited system design. My project required string inverter build, which further complicated the search. Another challenge I encountered was a general lack of knowledge among some companies' sales teams. Many couldn't confidently discuss critical elements like system components or even the federal Investment Tax Credit (ITC), which is currently in the phase-out period--making it even more urgent for homeowners to act now. After speaking with many companies, I had the good fortune of connecting with Ms. Elena Zenke, owner of Bee Happy Solar. From our first conversation, I knew she was different. She was knowledgeable, flexible, and respectful of both my timeline and payment preferences. She welcomed my involvement in the design process, listened to my needs, and collaborated with me to ensure the system met my vision. Bee Happy Solar is the only company I know of that offers both string inverter and micro inverter solutions, which speaks to their technical versatility. A few months after my installation, I upgraded my home modem and lost connection to my inverter's monitoring system. Elena personally came back to my home and assisted with a support call to the micro inverter manufacturer until the issue was resolved. That level of post-installation service truly solidified my trust in her and her company. The installation crew was professional, efficient, and meticulous in their work. One of the installers even helped me resolve a minor issue with my skylight--completely unrelated to the solar project--and did so at no charge. That act of generosity did not go unnoticed. Post-installation, Ms. Zenke continued to go above and beyond. She assisted in completing additional paperwork for incentives such as the Baltimore County Property Tax Credit and the Maryland Solar Access Grant. In summary, Bee Happy Solar exceeded my expectations at every stage--design, installation, follow-up, and incentive processing. I would enthusiastically recommend them to anyone considering solar, especially if you're looking for a customized approach backed by exceptional service and expertise.
