The parts needed to repair my heat were not common so he had to get them the following week and come back. Scott's service was professional and prompt and he came across as friendly and competent. I have dealt with Taylor Oil for years and hoped they had trucks out even at this hour. I called and left a message. About 10 minutes later I get a call from JAY TAYLOR, the owner. Jay said the trucks were all booked for the evening and he set me up for the morning delivery. I was OK with that. About 30 minutes later, Jay called to say that he was coming over, himself, to give me enough oil to get me through the night. He came a bit later in bitterly cold weather, put the oil in and waited until I could reset the furnace to be sure it was working. Jay is a great example of friendship and customer service. I can never thank Jay enough for his exceptional service and the throwback to this way of doing business in the early days of business. FIVE STARS OF COURSE!

I am sure they had many other calls that day--units 'always' break at inopportune times... However, within 20 minutes they responded to a voice mail and had a senior technician (Mike) to the house within the next 30 minutes--less than an hour from our initial call. He did a thorough analysis of the issue, clearly described his findings and let us know next steps. Back at the office they worked up various options, called us early the next day, clearly explaining everything, including cost and timing. A day later parts arrived and Mike was at our house first thing in the morning, at the scheduled time. While he was completing the exterior installation, he noticed an interior valve that wasn't working correctly, ordered that and set up the final check. These are really good people. They communicate clearly. They complete the work efficiently, expertly and in a timely fashion. If you need HVAC work and want trustworthy contractors--call them!

Previous management completed the job with spectacular results. I have a top-line Infinity gas back-up furnace, 5 dampers for a single unit system with 4 zones on two floors for a 3300 sq. ft. home. (I cleared drywall space in the basement ceiling to facilitate two trunk lines parallelling the I-Beam in the basement; some ducks up, some down). I have reviewed Coastal Comfort extremely well up to the replacement of my outdoor heat pump three years ago. After all these years of my many positive experiences with Coastal, especially regarding the 'non-management' front office staff and the highly qualified technicians that I've grown to love, I can tell you that this company has changed to the negative.... after the transition from the now-owner's father- Kevin Coleman. There's such an emphasis on growth ambitions, market share, profitability.... General and Service Managers have been hired that are nothing more than confrontational and abrasive in their communication styles if anything doesn't go as expected for them.. A total inability to listen----and it's supported by the now second-generation owner!! LOL Bottom line ---Bryant equipment is EXACTLY the same as Carrier. I was told this by the distributor they purchase all their equipment from! The equivelant of Carrier's Infinity furnace that I own and love is Bryant's 'Evolution'. It's just another brand running down the same assembly lines in the Carrier Global manufacturing plant! Do your own research for a local dealer of your choice, whether it's Carrier or Bryant!~ Sometimes a smaller company is much preferrred verses one that doesn't exerecise basic customer communication skills on a managerial level or truly listen to a customer when ther is an issue. Here's a takeaway----Call Coastal Comfort , or when they call you, they always recite the disclaimer statement of "You're on a recorded line" Who cares!! It's a partial intimidation tactic that they actually spend a lot of valuable minutes on to review hundreds of calls instead of a fucus on customer satisfaction issues. It's almost humurous thinking about all the wasted minutes when more productive time utilization can allow the business to prosper more effectively.

Coastal Comfort recently installed a new system for me, after the old one finally died. I was never pressured by sales staff into purchasing the new system, and was provided a range of price options as to a replacement system, when it became clear that was the best course. They graciously did so with quick response. Our neighbor even came over to see the result and she was also impressed. This was a big lighting project that was on our to-do list for a long time, and we were nervous since it's all new to us. We didn't realize how great it would turn out and can't get over the difference. Charlie, Devin, Logan, Alan and Kyle made the process easy and for that we're so grateful. One time "John" answered and I told him I was interested in an HVAC maintenance and service contract. He rattled off some numbers and promised to email them to me that night. Never got anything. I then called that number over and over, leaving messages that again were never returned. Finally, a woman answered and explained that she was in a front office and could give me no info (??) about service contracts, but she said if I called 800-921-0392 an answering service would take a message and forward to someone who would call back. She also promised me that John would send me the promised info that day. Not. So I called the 800 number and left a message for someone to please call me. Nothing. I give up. Too many other HVAC companies that care. I wonder how if they respond to customers needing emergency service.

Many of the "regulars" that I have seen before popped up in my feed including a few that I had called before, but they had failed to show for appointment or simply never bothered to return my original phone inquiries in the past. Then I came across a name that I didn't recognize through only ONE recommendation. I didn't trust the Good Ole Boys club (through recommendations) that I had previously tried to work with, unsuccessfully, in the past, so someone "new" was exactly who I was interested in. I called Zach Ernst, of ERNST MECHANICAL SERVICES, LLC (licensed in MD & DE) immediately...AND I reached him! Our communication was thorough and quick! I explained my concerns, budget and availability. Zach came out the NEXT day (Tuesday 05/02) and identified the burned up wires within my unit and another switch (Relay?) that needed replacement. He presented his suggested proposal of repairs along with a reasonable cost for the work and we agreed to proceed. The very next day (Wednesday 05/03) Zach texted me that the parts had arrived and he could install them on...wait for it...Thursday 05/04! BOOM ! So, moral of the story is: I reached out on a MONDAY...Zach arrived on TUESDAY...Parts were ordered that night and arrived on WEDNESDAY...Repairs were done on THURSDAY. Badda-Boom-Badda-Bing! No reason to NOT call this wonderful professional.
