Steve came out and met us in the back yard with a cute couple of pups, and our dog had such a good time playing that I think he thought it was the best vacation ever. I laughed so hard watching them play, I wished I had caught it on film because it was so funny. The house is an easy walk to Downtown Bend. It's off in a neighborhood, so you feel like you're getting a real feel for what it is like to live in the area. There were two bathrooms, one with a claw foot tub, and I had an excellent bath. The other bath had an amazing walk in shower. I fell in love with the creative, and thoughtful design of the spaces and Steve was generous with his time and showed me another space in the triplex. Such creative design, it was just fun to hang out in the house. Bend is surrounded by incredible natural beauty, so we went hiking every day. The hot tub at the end of the day was perfect. The kitchen is set up fully so, it would be easy to cook though we didn't since Bend is filled with great restaurants. Both Alex and Steve are great hosts. This place is amazing and I would highly recommend choosing to stay at one of the Enchanted Dwellings, I know we will be back on our next trip to Bend.

Its in a quiet, comfortable neighborhood not far from the OSU campus. This home had all the amenities you would need for a week long stay - fully amenitized kitchen, huge backyard, plenty of room to spread out after a long day of adventure. In addition, the owner will stock light snacks and breakfast items in the kitchen to get your day started, which was a nice touch. Home was spotless and everything worked as advertised. We will use Fernwood again in our travels to the OSU area!

When we arrived we were very pleased with the warmth and pristine condition of the home, its location at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac and the overall attention to detail. The backyard was perfect for our two young children. Alexandra, the property manager, was attentive and easy to work with. Highly recommended!

We knew we wanted to stay in the Willamette wine country and just randomly decided on staying in the city of Corvallis. We found this guest house on vrbo.com and called up & immediately booked it. The plus is, they accepted our dogs too, which was great! We stayed in the lower "flat" of the house, with it's own little covered porch area with comfy couch & chair overlooking the family's own christmas tree farm. We met Dale immediately upon arrival and he greeted us very warmly and we felt right at home. The flat has 2 bedrooms with queen ( I think) sized beds in both rooms and with great decor, a lovely at-home feel and Dale has all kinds of beautiful pottery he has made, scattered throughout the flat. A nice kitchen and big dining area to suit any sort of entertaining for around 8 people. We had been camping for 4 days before so coming into a nice home like this was perfect timing for us! The bed we slept in was really comfy as well. The location is pretty good-right near Oregon State University and just a short drive to several wineries around Corvallis. Cardwell Hill Cellars is wonderful and just a quick 10 minute drive away. Also, this house has laundry facilities, which is great!! We will definitely be coming back here. The warm hospitality from Dale and the coziness of the property were enough to make me want to stay there for a week! Unfortunately we were only there for 2 nights, but it was a wonderful stay! I would highly recommend to anyone!!

I told them my friends were leaving on Sunday and I was going to stay an extra night on Sunday night and wanted to reserve Sunday night when I called them...I asked if they wanted my payment info and the woman said no and that I could pay when I got there. the lady ended up charging my friend instead! when we asked for a refund for Sunday night, we were refused because we missed cancellation period. When we got there the first night, we parked in a parking lot and had to walk to our camp site...hauling everything was a hassle. there were 3 tent sites and all sites had to share 1 porta potty. the reason I am giving this site 1 star is because they are wayyyyy overpriced, considering you have to park and walk to site, share a porta potty, and get spied on and penny pinched for every fee possible. they ended up charging us $60/night ...original price was $37/night but they charged us extra for 2 extra adults and 1 extra car. total rip-off considering there are nearby campgrounds that have bigger sites, better bathrooms, can drive onto site for $10/night and you wouldn't have someone spying on you while you camp. skip this KOA, go for other campgrounds that won't rip you off.

On the plus side there is a small ($20?) cleaning deposit but no "1st & last month's rent", etc. so move-in is affordable. Rent is about average for the area. On the minus side, the kitchen and laundry are closed from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m., and when the house is full, 5 guys share a bathroom. The location is convenient: you can walk to the downtown area (U of O is a hike, but easy to reach on the excellent bus service); the house is on the major west-bound route with a bus stop almost out front. I felt safe and had the amenities of a house and was right next to a bus stop which was awesome. I was invited to eat dinner with Kip and Susy twice and it was very good and only $5. Mr. Rice made a cake one night and shared it will all the guests which I thought was very sweet. The other guests were older and nice, one man was a writer who was very interesting. It was 100 times better than the hostels in Eugene and Portland. All in all, a very nice visit to Eugene. I will stay here again next time i come through.

I waded out in front of the cabin and caught about 20 more over a couple of days. Everything is really close to anything you would want to do, the owners are nice and helpful. There are some amazing hikes near by and a lot to do on the river. My only complaint is that my phone internet service was horrible and it's hard to look up stuff. I would have like to have wifi in the cabin. There is no cable but some DVDs and a DVD player and some DVDs for rent at the market about 10 min down the road. If they add wifi, the place will be a solid 5 stars but that isn't to say it's not amazing now. Had a blast.

I have only driven out to the McKenzie river area once prior to this and it really is just a gorgeous drive. We stayed in cabin #1. I was so excited to arrive and I really must say the pictures just don't do it justice. It is beautifully decorated and perfectly set up for an extended stay. All the little touches like the BBQ and patio set out on the porch and board games in the laundry room. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean - Everything was clean. The kitchen is well stocked with a variety of dishes, I was a little worried so we took food that was easy to prepare but I really could have cooked just about anything I wanted. I have to say that I enjoyed that there is no TV in the cabin and I hope that doesn't change. I spent my evening drinking margaritas on the porch and my morning in the same spot drinking my coffee and it was wonderful. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this little place and I cannot wait to go back in the spring and bike the McKenzie trail. There are so many beautiful natural wonders to explore in this area. Although I would be back much sooner if well behaved pets were allowed ;) If you're a fisher TAKE YOUR POLE! We unfortunately left ours at home and really regretted it as we watched many on the river catch their daily limits. **I feel that I should address the previous review that mentions the road and the sound of traffic. I almost chose not to book this room specifically because of that review, and boy am I glad that I decided to give it a shot (I also cross referenced trip adviser and VRBO reviews). Yes it is pretty close to the road and yes you can hear the traffic. If you want to focus on the sounds of traffic instead of relaxing and listening to the sounds of the river I guess that's your prerogative. I chose to enjoy the river and in no way did the traffic negatively affect my stay, and I could really only hear it when I had the windows on the front of the house open anyway.
