Wallis & her team were amazing throughout our experience. We planned to get married in October but due to unfortunate circumstances, the lodge had to cancel all events for the year. This happened 5 days before our wedding. Now, despite having to cancel, especially so close to the date, I'm still leaving a review because we had a wonderful experience. Wallis was very helpful & flexible leading up to our wedding. The week of, when they had to cancel, Wallis personally helped reach out to other venues to try and set something up. She remained in contact with me throughout the process & was such a kind, pleasant person despite her own struggles with the lodge. Her positive attitude and uplifting spirit really gave us perspective on the process & I will happily recommend this venue to anybody. Not to mention the venue itself. We visited several times & it was absolutely stunning. Such a cozy & quaint spot to just hangout & enjoy nature in. The price was great for the services we got - which included utensils, glasses, chairs/tables, pitchers, etc.

My family stayed here August 2019 and we LOVED it! We absolutely can't wait to go back. The one frustrating thing is that we couldn't figure out which cabin was ours or how to get in. Apparently they had emailed us instructions but we had been without wifi for a a couple days and didn't get the email so I literally went knocking on all the cabin doors until we figured it out. anyways! Great location right on the river, super cozy cabins, lovely kitchen, out door fire pit on the water, books and games galore. Peaceful and tranquil I wish we could have stayed for a full week - one night was not enough! We talk all the time about going back!

We stayed in cabin #4 for two nights. The grounds were gorgeous...right in the middle of nature. The cabin was rustic and wonderfully decorated...it felt like we stepped into the 1970s! The radiant heated floors were great, and the floor to ceiling windows facing the river provided an incredible, calming view. We were the only people staying in the cabins those two nights, so we had the entire place to ourselves, which was nice. The cabins are close to lots of hiking opportunities, which we did during the day, and returned to the cabin for some relaxation in the evening/night, including relaxing around a fire in fire pit one night. The full kitchen was also convenient and had most everything needed for cooking full meals. The cabin needed a good dusting (including the cobwebs on the wall above the bed, the mirrors, coffee table, etc.), and there was an ashtray full of cigarette butts on the patio. There was also no acknowledgment of our presence from the owners, which was odd. I received self check-in instructions ahead of time via text and email, which were great. However, while there, I texted the owners to let them know we arrived and when we checked out (and mentioned we'd had a wonderful time) to be courteous, but I didn't receive a response. I love privacy, but I've never stayed somewhere and not been acknowledged. Overall, we had a wonderful, relaxing stay at Loloma Lodge! There are just a couple minor things that could be improved.

My husband and I were married at Loloma Lodge in August of 2011, and I am 100% confident that we chose the right spot. To host a wedding, you rent the entire grounds for 2 nights. Our families and the bridal party stayed on-site except for a few that stayed nearby, so we got to spend lots of time with everyone. We even took the bridal party and out of town friends in several rafts down the McKenzie River the day before the wedding and took out at Loloma. I can't imagine only getting to see out of town friends for the few hours of a normal wedding. Having entire days to share with friends and family also freed us up for dancing all night, which was very important for us. So, even if Loloma is booked, I highly recommend having your wedding at a place where you can enjoy an entire weekend. Sure, it's more expensive but totally worth it. Now on to the specifics of Loloma Lodge. Grounds. In August, the flower beds were amazing. The entire grounds were just gorgeous. A beautiful setting, and everyone was in awe of the splendor of Oregon. The ceremony site is adjacent to the river and has a neat pagoda-type gazebo thing to stand under. There is electricity, and our officiant held a microphone. The sound of the river was a nice peaceful touch. The reception site us a bit uphill, near the main lodge. We used their picnic tables for seating (they have other options). The dance floor is very large, covered, and well lit. There was plenty of room for a live band and lots of dancers. They are constantly improving, so I hesitate to give too many specifics. There are 2 old log cabins on the top of the hill and 4 small cabins along the river. We crammed as many people in each as possible; nearly every futon was assigned to a person or two. The main lodge is gorgeous and welcoming. We all got ready in there (boys downstairs and girls upstairs). Family stayed in the riverside cabins, and they seemed pleased to enjoy breakfast along the McKenzie every morning. Each riverside cabin has a theme and is decorated with lots of knick-knacks related to the theme (e.g., rock-n-roll). The kitsch feel of the river cabins clashes a bit with the antique feel of the log cabins, but that's no big deal. It's kind of fun. Service. I am lucky to have a close friend (Raina Powell Events of Corvallis) and sister (Sittin' in a Tree Weddings of Atlanta) that are both wedding planners, so I did not need to take full advantage of the service staff. Or maybe we did take full advantage of the staff, but my wedding planner dealt with it. I can't say for sure, but everything went smoothly the day of the wedding. My friends helped big time with decorating and setting up tables (another BIG plus for having everyone stay onsite--free labor!). If my friend/wedding planner hadn't taken the lead, I doubt I would have had time to shower before the ceremony. Trust me, get a planner for the day of! The owner, Kathy, is very laid back and trusting and gave us plenty of space. Had we abused her graciousness, she probably wouldn't have been so laid back. Or, who knows, maybe my wedding planner shielded me from any negativity (another great reason to have a wedding planner!). Planning a wedding is stressful, and at times I was frustrated with the process and with Kathy, but that's just the nature of the wedding planning beast. Looking back, all the times I wanted to scream seem very minor now. Plus, she seems to be working out the biggest source of my frustration- the extras (table settings, grills, etc). It's not a cheap place to host your wedding, but remember you can have your rehearsal dinner there too for no extra cost. As you've probably figured out by now, everything with the word "wedding" attached is way more expensive than without. So, either bite the bullet and do it right (a la Loloma weekend style) or do it guerilla style in a public park for the cost of a sundress and some birdseed. Any other way is too fast, stressful, cookie-cutter, or all of the above. That's my two cents anyway. Simply Amazing Location! We stayed two nights here on our way to Depoe Bay from Crater Lake. We stayed in Cabin #1 right on the McKenzie river. What a view! So peaceful and beautiful. The cabins are 60ish style very well decorated and comfortable. Heated floors! Very comfortable bedroom and nice open floor plan for the kitchen/living area and a fireplace. The back deck is on the McKenzie river. You have a fire pit and a barbecue grill available. The property is an amazing place. Planning on having a family reunion there sometime in the future. I'm not planning on renewing my vowes (one and done) but weddings here must be spectacular. Seems to be a lot of options for large or small groups. The backdrop is the McKenzie river. We ate a wonderful lunch at Takoda's. There's a golf course near by that I plan on trying next time called Tokatee. Hiking in the area is amazing. We did a simply hike that starts about a mile east of the lodge and goes for I think over 20 miles... we only did 3 miles :-). Plan on staying longer and doing more hikes. I'm attaching some photos of the river cabin and tried some night sky photography. Only problem is we still had a big moon and I used my point and shoot camera but it is a beautiful night sky! Thanks Loloma Lodge for a wonderful experience!

My daughter and I were on an Oregon trip. We found Loloma Lodge completely coincidently. And it has become our highlight of the entire trip. The owner Wallis was one of the nicest person you can meet. We got to know her and her family. They welcomed us into their home. And we had the best time ever. The property is just so beautiful and well maintained. When we left, we only had one thing in mind; and that was :"when can we come back?"

One of the many places to relax after a long day of exploring.
