My husband had a heat stroke , he was very sick and I finally talked him into going to the hospital . There were only a few people in the waiting room but it started filling up. We were having a hard time getting a urine sample but finally got one and gave it to the nurse who came to ask us Q's after sitting in the waiting room for an hour and a half we were brought back to a stretcher in a hallway . They eventually start getting blood tests and state they need a urine sample . We gave them the sample but are told they can't find it ! They lost his urine !! Well they gave him fluids while we wait and wait . We arrived just after noon . The doctor finally comes in and says all the labs look ok so you can go home or stay! All the while my husband my husband is sweating , in pain and barely able to open his eyes. Well we couldn't wait to get out of their funhouse , but the problem is he isn't any better what a nightmare!! Never again will I go to McLaren's ER 12:10 - 6:27 over 6 hours for nothing read more

A recommendation and word of caution "enter at your own risk". When going to Mclaren Emergency room bring a witness. Unfortunately it is needed. My recent visit i was treated like it was less then a human being. Wasn't able to talk about was my reason for being there, not just the first nurse that you are taken to, but the nurse who sees you once you get into your cubicle. Along with the nurse being very rude and making you feel like you were bothering them and being told because I asked to use the bathroom " is there anything else because I have real sick patients to deal with" and the doctor who didn't even spend more then about 2 minutes talking to me other then also being rude. So, if you have no other choice then to go to Mclaren ER take a witness, for your own safety and well-being. If you get discharge when you dont feel like your concers have been even address right them on your discharge paper or tablet before you sign them and take a picture with your cellphone CYA. Because you know thats what they are going to do. read more

I love the ER staff, but the last time I went in there it was terrible. Got some PA that wasn't even qualified to be bed changer. I have had multiple surgeries so I do expect some level of care. I waited for hours, and I laid patiently waiting. I told the nurse I would like to leave. Ends up this PA comes in finally. She said you would like to go. I said it's been long enough. I would say waiting was 3 hours. She says okay. I came in on a cane and left on my cane never did she say let me get you a wheelchair. Considering it was a long walk. She never even bothered to get me my discharge papers. I couldn't believe this service. So I called patient advocate. Spoke with the same lady that's been there a while. Explained my story. Immediately she blames me. I should have gone and got my discharge papers. I realized what she was doing she was blaming me for what their staff couldn't do. I said whoa whoa whoa here. This isn't happening. Told her I wasn't filing a grievance and she back right down. I guess that's all they care about not what she the PA did. She said stupidly what would I like her to do. I said could you at least make the staff there be aware of this is not how you treat patients. read more

Absolutely the worst care ever received. They put me in a prisoner/mental health pod which was very unsanitary. There was blood on the wall, the sheets on the bed smelled like a dirty basement, and the physician assistant was unable to extract a piece of metal in my eye. This is not world class care that they advertise. I filed a complaint with the patient care advocate who then forwarded my complaint to AJ the director of the emergency room and he told me the blood I saw on the wall was crayon. Just WOW!. So my complaint was heard but that is where it ended. I feel they were discriminatory towards me and I was NOT treated with any care or concern for my comfort or safety. The physician assistant was extremely incompetent. I will be continuing on with this complaint as I am not happy with the hospital emergency room condition or the care that I did not receive. ​​ read more

STAY AWAY from after hours x ray dept! Tall, thin, bald, elderly man from gray dept was rude and careless. When he jerked my body to the side to get the pic he needed, he didn't know that I had a fx of L3 which resulted in surgery . He had zero compassion and needs to retire....I contacted the hospital and sent written letter to a female who handles hospital complaints.... no response either time! I think the employee broke my spine!! read more

Why 3 stars. This does not pertain to the staff (nurses, doctors,etc) they were excellent. What was upsetting is the lack of cafeteria use after 6:00pm. I feel bad for any shift after 6. The ER was fantastic. Very thorough attentive and compassionate. Kudos and high praise to them. Inpatient was a nightmare. Specifically, several of the nursing staff. Refused following orders pertaining to blood pressure monitoring, offloading pressure on bedsore, bladder scanning and catheterization, attention to pain management, and not reading patients paralysis in chart, leaving him to feed himself and take some medication when he cannot not move his arms or hands. Sarcastic and aggressive response to questions regarding all of the above. Retaliation, retribution and verbal abuse after caregiver reported issues to supervisor. Additionally and perhaps most concerning, patient was sent home with blood pressure of 199/94!!!!! A very dangerous situation that never ever should never have happened. Totally unprofessional behavior and unacceptable. We will never willingly use this facility on an inpatient basis again. This review will not mention specific names, however there are several nurses who need to be reprimanded and re educated on attitudes and patient care at the very least. read more

ER language is offensive-I've been to the ER twice in the last two years. I am not prude, but the language between the staff members heard from behind the curtain is embarrassing. Extremely unprofessional. When getting wheeled to my room, I noticed a handful of pill cups in the corner on the floor. Once I was admitted to my room, the lady across the hall from me checked herself out against medical advice, because she had been there a few hours and had not yet been seen by anyone. The gal cleaning rooms could be heard on the phone with her supervisor asking if she needed to clean the room at all. The folks that did tend to me were kind enough. My bathroom was pretty gross- hairs in places they should not have been. Thank goodness I had loved ones available to bring me food and drink. The staff just don't have time to take care of that. I asked several times if I could have something to eat. I was told food would be coming. More than once, I was handed my Rx but had no drink to wash it down. I will drive farther down the road next time I am having a heart attack. read more

I would honestly give zero stars if I could. I will say now that I have had my fair share of bad and good experiences with McLaren but what happened today disgusts me beyond words can even describe. I have non-epileptic seizures and both me and my friend have been in and out of this hell hole you guys call a hospital 3 days in a row now we both have non-epileptic seizures the past 2 days the nurses and doctors were incredible super sweet, compassionate, honest, understanding, helpful, they didn't medically gaslight me or berede me. Today however was a different story my friend was brought in for having multiple seizures and 911 was called. I had a seizure in the waiting room and I got tossed around and pulled and dragged like I was some kind of god damn ragdoll. I was sprayed with what smelt like either water or a water and chlorine mixture. I was picked up from each limb and roughly tossed onto a stretcher then got sprayed with more of that water chlorine crap and got a sternum rub to the point that it make me sob. When I came out of the seizure I was sobbing and in agonizing pain and the doctors and nurses continued to medically gaslight and berede me. They wanted to admit me and I refused as I am 18 years old and have every right to refuse medical service. The nurse I had however claimed my insurance would be billed if I left against medical advice. However I have left this exact hospital multiple times before against medical advice and got no billing on my insurance whatsoever. I was then told I needed to be triaged before I could leave which again was a blatant lie I have left this exact hospital multiple times without even being triaged. The doctor kept on pulling at my hoodie and grabbing my arm without my consent to try and get me to pull my hoodie down and talk to him. The nurse I had told me to stop crying and got visibly frustrated with me when I was having a panic attack because I was so fed up with the way I was being treated. if I'm bleeding out, dying, overdosing, etc. I am never going to this hospital EVER again for as long as I live in this god damn city I will die before I come back here after the way I was treated today. Now I remember exactly why I HATE this hospital. I'm at McLaren Port Huron Hospital. I've been in and out of 2 different ER's since Saturday with the SAME medical complaints. Yesterday morning around 9 I get to McLaren's ER and the ER staff was TOP NOTCH. They kept me comfortable,they ran all necessary tests,they did their due diligence and admitted me. I get up on the floor last night and once again the night staff and Dr's were on top of everything. Keeping me informed,my husband informed and listening and even helped to comfort me because I was so terrified. Today-- From 8 am till now 10:01 pm 4/16/2025 the Dr's have SUCKED and so have the NURSES. The "on-call" Cardiologist decided that the EKG and blood work up from last night was enough and that I should be fine to go to the Dr's office get the heart monitor put on and go home. Within 15 minutes of his "assumption" I got up from the bed,walked into the bathroom and my heart rate shot up over 160 beats per minute. He OPTED NOT to give me any medication to slow it down or lower it because in his words "my blood pressure was to low" it was 117/79- that's considered NORMAL. When i told him I didn't feell comfortable going home with the episode's happening he became disgusted with me and stormed out of my room. Because I am wearing a halter monitor not only did they catch the first one AND the second one AND the third one, he still insisted I was fine enough to leave. Whats even more messed up--The first time my nurses came running in to my room to verify what was happening and stayed with me until it slowed back down.The second time I hit the call light waited almost 6 minutes for someone to answer it only for a nurse to walk in and shut it off and saying "its being recorded" and the 3rd time it happened, they didnt even bother coming into my room at all,I had to open my door and yell for help! Thankfully a SMART NURSE took notice that I was pale white,shaking,cold and sweaty and disoriented and spoke with another Dr who then told her "We will monitor her over night and continue care." The first attending cardiology physician assistant said he would come and "inform" me and my husband of the change of plans and the plan of care. Instead he took his leave for 18 rounds of golf,cancelled all of my meds,discontinued hydration and left an empty saline bag hanging off my arm for the last 11 hours. He ordered NO additional testing to figure out WHY I am now having severe bouts of Tachycardia,he left with no back up meds ordered in case it shoots back up,he's ordered no meds in case the pain becomes to much-- which I've been practically begging for 5 HOURS for any kind of relief and the nurse said the best they can do is "Toradol". Which does NOT work on me for anything. My pain level is currently sitting at a 7.5. I feel worn out and like I took a beating from my heart racing so hard and fast. I look like hell and I just want to bawl my heart out. I came here because I was the only one home and I had to do it alone. I came here because my Cardiologist is based through here(but I did not know he's out of town until next week) I came here because I was scared I was going to die. This is quite possibly the WORST hospital to go to. AVOUD AR ALL COSTS. Go to Beaumont or Henry Ford if your life depends on it. read more

I went in to drop of a specimen to the lab as direct by my doctor. You no long can take it to the lab. Youhave to wait in the registration line to drop of samples. So the person that registers you with no medical training has to handle the specimens. Seems like a sure way to get everyone sick. Was having gyno issues (excessively bleeding non stop) for over a month. Was told they have no gyno in house (LIE), After weekly emergency visits here and weeks of losing so much blood and my hemoglobin dropping to dangerous lvls, we decided to drive all the way to Ann Arbor hospital. When I got there I was seen right away by gyno and put on a simple medication called provera to stop the bleeding. There is no reason why McLAREN hospital Dr's couldn't have prescribed this medication, apparently for them leaving me to bleed to death was a better benefit then the medication? NEVER EVER WILL I GO HERE! read more

On 02/11/2026 at 12:30, I was at McLaren in Port Huron for a routine mammogram. I told the technician numerous times that she was hurting me and there was a lot of discomfort during the whole process. I have had my mammograms there for a number of years as well as other hospitals in the past. I have never experienced the discomfort and pain like I did during this one. Had this been a first time for me, I would never get another one. Later that afternoon I was noticing a burning under both breast and looked to see what was going on. I have burns and a great deal of soreness under both to the point was I was not able to wear a bra and when taking a shower the body wash made me burn even more. Its obvious things were not done correctly as I should not have burns and be sore!!! To begin with the woman at the registration desk was unfriendly and rude. I felt like I was being an inconvenience and intrusion to her day!! I used to feel comfortable knowing I would be in good hands here now I'm not sure about that!! read more

I'd rather take my chances than come here. They treated my family member horrible, told us she was having behaviors and wrote her off when she was actually having repeated seizures and could've died. Writing here to warn all those who don't have family to advocate for their rights . The psych unit treats their patients more like inmates, yelling at them and acting like they are under punishment not medical care. Do yourself and loved ones a favor and stay away. To be clear, I left messages for the manager of the psych unit and the patient advocate and never received a call back. read more

This review is for the ER, the nurses are always excellent. The Drs and the PAs on the other hand need more schooling and/or compassion, they just don't care. Poor care, ask me if I have fever I say I don't know yet they never take my temperature? I'm sent home every time told to see family Dr who just says go back to ER, in the meantime suffer in pain and get worse. Also, medical notes always wrong information which is super dangerous, outdated medical conditions, incorrect medical conditions. I get that they are busy a lot and short staff, but that's not a good enough reason, to write down incorrect patient information, there should be a nurse taking notes in the exam room as the Dr is questioning the patient, or the dr should be carrying a voice recorder so they can review later when writing their notes about the patient. read more

First I want to thank the surgical team for getting my surgery done. To mom up Terri was my nurse , she was great and new her job well. The afternoon nurse was ok when I stumbled backwards she asked why .I felt nauseous and dizzy. Continued with the porta potty . Midnight nurse Kathleen never ever gave me any medicine. When I had to go to the bathroom she came in said she would be back but never never came. I seen her maybe three times at night she was trying to make me do everything myself and made a comment that I should have been home already and she shouldn't have been there with me. The next nurse I had Jenny was real sweet she brought my medicine in checked on me told me when I was going home got my papers ready gave me information when I had my last pills and her and Steve were actually real good people they need to get more people with bedside manners. Now back to Terry Terry was the best nurse I ever had and you couldn't say nothing bad about her so if you read this Terry just remember my daughter my husband and I and my granddaughter really really thought you did a great job. read more

This is for McLaren in Marysville. I can never get ahold of the staff when I have a question, especially a prescription that the pharmacy said they never got. I must show up in person because they don't answer the phone. The staff is rude when I do. Before McLaren bought out Phsicans Healthcare, they had ten doctors. Now, its one doctor and nine Physician Assistantes or Nurse Practicionters -who can't write prescriptions. I complained, about this to Todd a physcians assistant, who was attending physician for the office that day but when I got to the pharmacy told me that they couldn't fill my prescription, and when I called him back the staff told me I was no longer welcome at McLaren Phsician Health care in Marysville. Filling a prescription can be a matter of life and death, but that doesn't matter to these people. read more

I am incredibly disappointed. We felt like there was no total care process. There was a bunch of doctors who do not communicate with each other and give you different answers about treatment plans. Had to have a minor procedure done today all went well. Hospital is clean, easy to navigate and everyone we encountered was super friendly. Newly remodeled and the colors are nice and calming. Was kind of worried because reviews on line are not so great. Also being this is McLaren (i believe they also took over Mt. Clemens General) we had a bad experiance over there. Though the remodel is done & the hospital looks great, the e.r has definitely declined in efficiency, bedside manner, treating people like they are in fact people. The typical doctor's are ignorant, narcissistic egomaniacs who think they know it all, but really don't. The doctors in this particular area seem to have this kind of God complex. With all of the specialty hospitals(U of M, Henry Ford & Beaumont) you'd think the doctors working at McLaren should be thankful they are called dr & not expect anything more. I do not understand why(mostly Male physicians) can not admit they don't know or that they haven't seen it all. I had 5 tubes drawn and they stabbed 9 times, missing veins 6 tiimes. Left me with big bruises. Then they lost either the samples or the resulls as my doctor never received results. When I went to find out what happened I received the "try asking over there" shuffle. I had to retest elsewhere but was warned if the results were found I would then be billed again and the insurance wouldn't cover the costs. Huh!? read more

Nursing: poor morale, overwhelmed, underpaid, and are assigned too many patients which is unsafe. The hospital charges their doctors 12 cents a line to dictate hospital notes, Bossy CEO. Long waits in the ER and you will probably see a nurse or PA, no doc. Consider LAKE HURON MEDICAL CENTER OR RIVER DISTRICT OR BEAUMONT ON 26 mile road. This review is for Dr. Boute and the team at the Wismer Center. Outside of the amount of time it took to get in (several months to set up the appointment due to COVID related back-ups), I was overall happy with the service for my wife's surgery. She was in about 10 minutes after her scheduled report time and out in the early afternoon. The staff at the desk were great. It helps when your mother in law retired from the place, but regardless, they were nice to everyone and fairly timely in getting everyone in. I was able to see her before and after, and the staff were professional and thorough with follow up needs. Dr. Boute has a great sense of humor and walked me through all what happened and provided pictures of the results (I'm that nerdy guy that likes science and organ pictures and am still thinking of ways to Photoshop images to make postcards, so this was up my alley). I had no issues with the staff or process. Of course I haven't seen the bill yet, but I haven't met anyone willing to do this for free, not would I likely want that. Wismer Center was great overall. Would love to add pics but I wasn't the one getting the procedure so HIPPA (sorry). read more

They messed my husband's paper work from the E.r. he was suppose to be admitted like they claimed then by the next morning their whole attitudes changed to him like a stiff politeness. Suddenly he was taken off pain meds and then discharged. We read the paper work they gave us after. They had down first some family history that was wrong like my mil has diabetes. And my husband's bio dad who he barely knows had hypertension. Then read on and it said my husband was a binge drinker 2 days ago and a last yr when we were married. We've been married 10 yrs. And that he is an ex heroin and methamphetamine and opiate addict and takes methadone. Which isn't true at all. And that's why I believe they kicked him to the curb bc they thought he was drug seeking!!! I called and everyone gave me the run around. I talked to admin. And E.R. and their advocate never returned my call. They don't see how this misinformation effected his care. I'm so sick of this hospital. They better cleanse it and it better not haunt us how humiliating sending such a thing to my husband's doctors. We have kids. This is so emotionally upsetting. The E.r person said "well did he sign his discharge papers" really? He was in pain he has illeous in his intestines and colitis. Lost 40 Ibs from vomiting and gut issues and they seriously going to pass the blame? BS read more

WORST Hospital EVER!! Stay. FAR from ALL Dr's associated with this Hospital too! End of April I was able to "walk" with minimal assistance. After being in the "awesome" care of this facility and its Dr's that work within this "Group" I've been "blessed" to live my life in a wheelchair!! Since end of April 2021 only to be shuffled without answers/tests or "care" but COVER UPS of PURE NEGLIGENCE!!!! Try being completely disabled at the mercy of others on their Office and treated like a 3rd class citizen WITHOUT ZERO Rights or care as a person!! Oh, no problems with charging loads of money for nonsense tests that mean absolutely NOTHING. Dr REFUSING to send prescriptions to pharmacy that is accessible and stated was CORRECT. Let's NOT discuss attitude either. No wonder he has had "issues"with his patients and front of Office Staff. Had the AUDACITY to contact me to "give the Office" another chance and come back. Well, might be new faces but sadly, Dr Stefan is STILL the "Chief in Charge" and has attitude!! So happy to finally wake up and take advice of an actual worker who told me to STAY CLEAR OF McClaren PH and I'll definitely get the necessary/needed help I deserve and need. So sad he's only on it for the money. He should remain in Pontiac, Michigan because he's not setting a good example here in PH. There's another one who has no issues with having you wait literally 4 hours to see the Dr for 4.3 minutes!! Yep, so happy to finally figure out that the "System" has your information and you do get shuffled around without a proper diagnosis/ exam. But, they have no problems billing the Insurance Company each month!! Disgusted and now I'm thankful for having PTSD over ALL Hospitals and now Dr's Offices. Thankfully, I have a great Dr approximately 1.5 hours from my home that I'm now going to be seeing again. Sometimes, you really have to travel and put forth the effort for QUALITY over location. I've seen Veterinarians treat animals FAR better than the Hospital and Dr Office Staff at Dr Stefan, Port Huron Family Practice and Orthopedic Associates of Port Huron,PC. THE Orthopedic are a scam and you don't even get to see an actual "Dr"! ONLY allowed a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant who "sees" patients and then makes an "assumption" and relays their opinions to the actual Dr!! If you're disabled and on a wheelchair beware... you might be lucky to be treated like a 3rd class citizen and shoved against YOUR Rights Andy's everyone their hands placed on your OWN wheelchairs or physically "roll you away from public view" into a waiting area. Yep, another McClaren Specialty place on PH that really "cares" about patients!! Oh, if you fail to accept the NON DR they'll still hill your insurance company for the visit. My husband and I went to the emergency room because he was having symptoms simular to a heart attack or stroke. With my help, we walked in, got processed and then we had to sit and wait with him in a wheel chair. After a few minutes they took him to an area in the front, typed in all his info and symptoms (not sure what that part of the process was) and then he was escorted to a small room that had a bunch of chairs and tables crammed in it (looked like a storage closet and not very clean by the way). *Red Flag* The assistant or nurse (she didnt introduce herself so im not sure *Red Flag*) sat him down in a chair (after btw, she asked someone to removed some of the stuff and put in the hall) hooked him up to a ekg and took his blood. I asked her what they were testing for and was just ignored me. I gathered his stuff while he had to wheel himself out back to the waiting room as she watched him struggle with one paper in her hand. *Red Flag* and there we sat for 4 hours waiting. During that time I observed some things. The lack of empathy, overworked and more than likely understaffed. Who is supposed to be in charge of this area and were they there? One of the staff members even told and elderly gentlman that if he came in on a Sunday, it would be better cause they werent as busy. We left after 4.5 hours and went to another hospital who was just as busy, but he was treated more like a human being and got better care. Just an advice In an emergency, I would not go here. They seem overwelmed and the lack of leadership is apparent and I would be afraid of mistakes and things being overlooked that could cost someone their health or their lives. read more

I was recently at this hospital and I was very happy with my experience. Everyone was kind, gentle and it was very clean which is really important to me. Brittney, Ashley, and etc...were all good to me they really cared about my pain. I was hesitant to go here because a lot of hospitals don't care about people but I'm very satisfied and in case of an emergency I will definitely come here. Not even a week after my son with a broken finger went there and he's 10 years old and he had a great experience as well. I'm glad there's a hospital I can trust for me and my family. read more

Husband admitted in ER a few weeks ago for an infection in his leg. He was tested for Covid which came back negative. While waiting for a room out of ER hours after he was placed in a section with Covid positive patients. One nurse who did not have proper PPE on and gave treatment to Covid positive patients then walked across the hall to my husband who did not have Covid. No private bathroom available either unless shared with Covid Patients.. Needless to say we got him out of the hospital ASAP. What were they thinking doing this? I watched them one month earlier while my husband was in McClaren for heart trouble let fast food delivery people enter into the hospital with no masks or Temps taken. Numerous people waiting to enter at noon stood in line 6 feet apart with masks on , Temps taken and having to answer questions about being around someone with Covid. But food deliveries waltzed in like no problem. WTH is going on with this hospital???? Terribly upset by these two situations and would love to hear their explanation why and how they could put my husband near positive Covid patients if it so highly contagious. Horrible horrible horrible staff is horrible wait times are horrible the people that work at this Hospital are completely incompetent can't return phone calls don't get back to other hospitals that are waiting for your patient to be admitted just an absolute complete disaster of an experience. The staff is rude and needs to learn how to talk to people. Did not bring my kid her breakfast on multiple days and the food they did bring looked like throw up not even sure what it was to be honest. PhysicIans and staff at the Wismer outpatient surgical center are outstanding. The facilities are clean. No complaints whatsoever about the procedure from arrival to departure. The reason I am only rating 3 stars is two fold. First, scheduling times for procedures are not given until late the afternoon prior to the surgery. Because of this, patients can go without food and water ridiculously longer than necessary and rides may be difficult to arrange. Second, the McLaren MyChart does not include any pathology results. We all have several medical portals these days, and McLaren's is the least complete of any I have seen. No pathology reports and other reports only go back a few years. One would expect such a large facility to do far better in terms of technology, transparency and health record portability. Isn't there actually a federal mandate on what facilities must include in electronic medical records in order to meet federal guidelines and avoid penalties? read more
