Beautiful arrangements but not a very good owner. Was going to go in after yoga but I heard very loud and hateful yelling. Saw an employee come out crying. If you don't care about poor leadership skills in a company and just want to buy some pretty flowers it's good but I personally won't be giving this establishment my business. read more

Note: I've never ordered flowers here. This review is based upon the home decorations. My wife and I love coming into McNamara Florist. The store is like a showroom for decorating ideas and always carries something unique that I've not seen in other stores or online. I'm not talking about country style knickknacks. I mean beautiful accessories for the home, often seasonal, as well as candles, lighting fixtures, live plants, and elegant pieces you would be proud to set out. And when it comes to seasonal, they have a Christmas celebration the first weekend of November. That is when they have finished decorating the entire store and if you don't mind crowds, it is like walking through a Winter Wonderland. Truly amazing things to see and grab a cookie or two! Sure, the prices are relatively higher than other south side shops, but the quality is top notch....and I find you usually get what you pay for. Don't be afraid to stop by and look. Le sigh. I ordered a second delivery for my Sister this week as she started chemo. I gave McNamara an opportunity (again) and I have decided that it just isn't worth it. I'm sorry but for the price you are paying and what you receive is NOT just. I was charged 80 dollars for the attached photo. ((Small bouquet with typed out message left of bouquet)) I kept an open mind- and gave this thought before updating my review. "It's the thought that counts. It's the thought that counts.." I tried telling myself. But you should feel like you are sending the best when you're ordering from the best and paying an obscene amount. Roses were turning brown on 1st day. It's just pitiful. My sister actually told me to quit sending her flowers because it upset her to know I was spending the money and they were just "okay," which is not acceptable from an upscale florist category. In closing: It just isn't worth it. I stopped in McNamara Florist after noticing all the Christmas decor inside. I'd always thought it was just a florist, and since I'm rarely buying fresh flowers, never went in. What a surprise! This place has some beautiful fresh flowers and arrangements- centerpieces, wreathes, etc- as well as beautiful holiday decor that's a tad upscale. The employee working when I stopped in on Sunday afternoon was very friendly and helpful, without being overbearing. I was particularly impressed with the size of this store - it's much larger inside than what I'd expected from the outside! At this time of year, you'll find room after room of beautifully decorated Christmas trees, and all the ornaments and other trimmings to make your home beautiful. Each room/tree had somewhat of a unifying theme (blue, white, animals, mulicolor, etc), so it it makes shopping for the particular colors, etc that appeal to you most easier. I only went home with a cardinal figurine - my mom collects different pieces of bird decor, so I thought it would make a nice addition to her Christmas presents. But I also grabbed a catalog of their fresh flower arrangements for the holiday season and WOW are they beautiful! I'd love to receive them as a gift, but probably wouldn't spend the money to buy them for myself - they're beautiful, but a little out of my price range for fresh flowers that won 't be nearly as pretty in a couple of weeks! read more

This place is fantastic. You are walking into a wonderland of floral arrangements, extravagant planters, and whimsical gifts. I stopped in for a funeral arrangement/gift for my friend who's grandmother passed away. So, on my way, I popped in hoping to just grab and go...but even better: I was greeted by Rosemari, the florist tending the store that day. So just as quickly and easily, I pointed to something I like, to which she found a basket in my given price point ($150 or less). I choose a darling garden stone keepsake and a sympathy card... all in less than 10 minutes. I think I spent around $130 for the planter, garden stone and card. All in all, wonderful experience. I don't think I will order flowers from McNamara again, unless other businesses are worse. My mother sent me the pictures of the flowers that she received for Mother's Day. Of course, she thought they were pretty but I thought they would be much better than flowers just thrown in a vase. The picture online looked completely different and better designed than the one that my mother received. As much positive reviews as this company has received, I expected better. Our mother recently passed away and when making her final arrangements were unable to find the right casket spray in the book of numerous displays. Our director made a phone call to McNamara Florist Greenwood and arranged for us to talk to them directly. It was such a positive experience at such a hard time. They talked us through our ideas after showing them pictures of the beautiful colorful sweater she would be wearing and her casket color. They showed us different options of flowers that would look nice and we left it in their hands. I have to tell you when we walked in as a family to see mom, the floral arrangement was breath taking and beautifully complimented our angel. This has always been my go-to place anytime I need a floral arrangement, and I have never been disappointed with the beautiful work that McNamara has done. I ordered three bouquets for my wedding earlier this month; I brought in a picture from Pintrest but the stunning bouquets we received from Rosemari blew the example picture out of the water. We wanted a special casket spray for our mother, not something standard like carnations, that we kept being told that what everybody uses. We met with Rosemari and explained what we looking for. Rosemari and the entire McNamara team that handled my daughter's wedding were beyond fantastic. Rosemari took a personal interest in making sure everything met the wishes of my daughter and went off without a hitch.
