I have to admit for being a big box store, they were clean and had a wide variety of items to browse through. During the week, there weren't a lot of staff on hand, but the one who helped us was really good. My wife had a return to make and one thing keeping this place from getting a higher rating was that there was no signage indicating where customer service/returns were located. None of the cashier aisles had anyone there when we entered. We browsed a little and my wife spotted a gal who was stocking inventory (loads of seasonal stuff was filling the shelves). The employee immediately stopped stocking and directed my wife to the second cashier spot and she opened the spot and processed the returned item with a simple review of the receipt to confirm it was purchased there and the price to be refunded. In about a minute, my wife was refunded her money. My wife also asked if they carried some artificial plants and where would she find them. The clerk pointed in the general directions and then gave some verbal direction to help find the specific items. Unfortunately, they had similar stuff to what my wife wanted, but not exactly. But that wasn't the clerk's fault. Prices seemed reasonable and the quality of the items I picked up seemed good too. It's a very unassuming location so I wasn't sure what to expect when I walked in. The produce is the first section you walk into as you enter so that was good because I didn't have to go searching for the deals. Everything I wanted was still in stock and I found a few extra treats that weren't on the list at great prices(ex. 7.5oz Wholly Guacamole bowls for $1 each-a steal!) I ended up buying blackberries, raspberries, Vidalia onions, zucchini, squash, Cincinnati Reds peanuts, spring mix and arugula and my total was less than $16. The deal is that everything is probably close to their "best by" date but for such a low price I can afford to "use em or lose em". I browsed around the store to see what else they had and I may have to check out some of their clothing next time because it looked like some good deals to be had in that area as well. As with my last visit, I was shopping for juvenile furniture. I think they have very good selections for youths. The granddaughter wanted a new bed and chose a "sleigh" style headboard twin size bed. She also opted to add the matching nightstand. She also wanted a chair for her bedroom and we were able to find a rocking swivel recliner in almost the exact same color as the bed that was extremely soft and plush. I chose to pickup the furniture this time instead of having it delivered. The pickup location is at the Plainfield store and it was easy as pie. They loaded the five boxes into my mini-van for me. All of the seats were removed or stowed under the floor giving me ten feet of cargo space as opposed to only six feet in my pickup truck. Assembly was a piece of cake. Pie? Now cake? I'm ready for dessert, lol. Only the feet needed screwing onto the nightstand. There was no assembly required for the chair whatsoever. That left the bed for the majority of the assembly time. 16 bolts for the side rails to attach the headboard and toe board plus 8 screws for the slats. Easy, peasy. My sister also likes Value City. The cost of all three pieces was just over $1k, two being on sale. I'm very satisfied with the quality. Everything was in stock hence no waiting for anything to be ordered. I bought it on a Friday and it was available for pickup the following Friday.

It was simple and easy. They were not pushy or overbearing trying to make a sell. After everything was set up and I decided what I wanted, they were up front and told me that it would be about 8 or 9 months for the furniture to come in due to COVID. So, they asked that I put half down on my furniture and pay the remaining balance when the furniture comes in. I normally would be a bit hesitant to give that much money to some businesses because without getting the product. However, I felt comfortable doing it with them and did so without hesitation. During the wait, I called a few times and they gladly gave me updates on my sectional. They called me right away when it came in. It was a month earlier than they had predicted. They offer a delivery service for a fee, I think like $150 or so. But I could not wait and just rented a U-Haul and got a buddy and went and picked up the sectional myself. The process was seamless and pretty easy. The only issue, which was out of their control, was the long wait. This business is run by a wonderful couple who is very knowledgeable about furniture. They made the sometime daunting task of furniture shopping easy and enjoyable. I recommend checking this place out for your furniture needs. They are honest, upfront, and friendly.

The line was quite long for a weekend with only one cashier at first- they only have three registers which was surprising. A second cashier did come up to help with the line.
