(in a bathroom they're not working in, mind you). I'd be especially cautious if you're a woman hiring this business. It does not matter how many times you clearly state what it is that you want or do not want this team is gonna do whatever the heck they please. I had custom lumber on my property for another project. Olando's people helped themselves to these highly expensive, very rare custom materials for portions of their job, despite me specifically saying three times that that lumber was only to be used for one thing. Not only am I now stuck with the labor of going out into the world and trying to replace this custom lumber, but I have to absorb the expense, which is far greater than what it was when the lumber was purchased many years ago. And don't think for a second that just because they helped themselves to my materials that there was any discount on that job. There was not I was charged full price. When I reached out directly to.Olando an inquired what was going to be done about the paint on my upholstery and my curtains and my floors and my stairs and my bathrooms, his response was for me to get some warm water soap in a rag and do it myself. That's the respect he has for his female clients. You're just Cinderella and you're supposed to clean up after him. Two more issues of note something I found greatly disturbing was a handprint in paint on my bedroom dresser. His team was painting the master bathroom, but had no work in the bedroom itself. What would possess some man with a handful of paint to lean his hand on my dresser in my bedroom? Ladies, you know what I think, men cannot be left alone in your house with anything freely. Now in full disclosure, this job was done a couple of years ago and I held my tongue because I knew I was never going to do business with him and I've been pretty good about informing my friends and other people in the community that I know personally about the risks to your personal property and finances when working with this company. As a business owner myself, I have empathy for the struggles small business owners are going through today and confident in the knowledge that I would never ever use or recommend this company to anyone else that was gonna be the end of it for me. But remember that custom lumber I mentioned? Like I said it was meant for a specific project. Well, these guys decided to use it for stair treads. Number one the wood was not appropriate for that usage and number two, two years later that would is purging sap. Big huge gooey tracks of sap. We can't even use one door in my house because there's so much sap on the stairs your shoes stick to the stairs. The sap sticks to your shoes and ultimately the sap ends up on my wood floors. And that's just a step too far. Now not only do I have to replace the lumber for the custom project which still hasn't been done because when I asked Orlando if he was going to reimburse me for the wood, he told me to find it myself and he'd write me a check. As I mentioned, I run my own business and I haven't had time to go see King custom lumber. But now I have to redo part of the project that he did. So I'm out the original $22,000 for the job, I'm out however many thousands of dollars it's gonna cost me to replace that lumber, and now I have to redo a large portion of the job because it's causing even more damage. Do yourself a favor, call another painter. This guy will promise you the world upfront, but he doesn't even return to inspect his work. And again, ladies, if you have any complaints, this man's answer is do it yourself, Cinderella. There are far more reasonably priced and higher quality contractors around the shoreline.
