The following morning we enjoyed the breakfast just as much; they also offered some Continental Breakfast items like croissants, Danishes and cereals. The receptions helped set up our appointment with Giant's Causeway visit center next door. She and all the employees we encountered were all very nice, friendly and professional.

I wrote in our reservation notes the night before asking if we could check in a little early to get ready for our wedding and within an hour of submitting, their staff called and told us they would be more than willing to help out! We arrived to this adorable nestled hotel and checked in with ease. The moment we got to our room, I honestly shed tears of joy. Not only was the view of the coast breathtaking, but the incredible staff here had complimentary champagne waiting for us! We had an amazing wedding day and headed back to the Adelphi to inquire about fun spots to visit in town. They directed us to the Springhill pub down the street where we were greeted by an amazing group of soon to be new friends and had pint after pint in celebration. The next morning we headed down to breakfast and were so pleasantly surprised at how accommodating the staff was to our dietary needs! This was the first place on our entire trip that was able to give us the full Irish breakfast catered to our vegan diets. They even went so far as to put together a breakfast in bed tray for us to take up and snack on while we packed up. I cannot rave enough about this perfect hotel and hope anyone that reads this review heads up to Portrush to check it out. So we stumbled onto this hotel completely by accident. We booked it solely on the basis that they…read moresaid they had accessible rooms. So to start with the high points, you're at the edge of the dark hedges, which is beautiful. The parking situation was the best of any hotel we've stayed at in Ireland or Northern Ireland.. We never had a problem getting a close parking space that worked for us and getting a hold of the wheelchair. The room itself was fine. You do have to put down the legs on the bathroom stool in a way that doesn't quite make sense but is doable. And the place to insert your key to turn on the lights was up too high for a wheelchair user or short statured person to be able to reach. The room and hallway had a very strong smell, and the sheets were washed in a very strongly smelling detergent, none of which were ideal for someone with allergies or sensitive to scents. Like most hotels in the area they didn't have air-conditioning although they did have windows that open and provided us a fan upon request. There are 3-4 four sets of doors between the front desk/ lobby, and where the accessible rooms are. these doors are heavy, narrow, and difficult to navigate even with one non disabled person and a wheelchair user. This hotel was only accessible with someone to be of assistance to a chair user. My wife would not have been able to access this hotel on her own. There were some really odd rules around meal times which we never quite figured out and could not find posted anywhere on when things started and stopped, and when you couldorder à la carte versus a buffet. We did eat the buffet lunch one time while we were there. I think they do this mainly because they have tourgroups who come through and the food was not bad, but it definitely wasn't great and it was a weird mixture for me. The staff were super helpful when we could find them, but I don't think we were in the lobby one time with a staff member at the desk. Usually we had to go somebody to help us from the dining room. They do have an amazing parrot though and so five stars for the parrot

We got a tour of the hotel and every room has been renovated using Islay timber. It really is something special. In actual fact the whole place was renovated in stages using the timber including the bar, dining room and every door in he place. Some have little features hidden in the knots of the wood. Lots of talking points, including the original murals from back in the day which features the bar locals at the time it was painted. Fantastic.

The room was spacious, the bed comfortable, and sweet touches all around to give a sense of home. The coffee machine was excellent and there was a atray of goodies on the desk, sweetners, cookies, teas, cups, milk packets and probably more that I can't think of. We felt quite spoiled. Our view was lovely as well. And our bathroom had wonderful space, and a nice shower with good pressure. We visited the bar several times, and always got very good service and good pours. The restaurant was very good as well. We had dinner twice and breakfast twice. All of our meals were delightful. One of my favorite dishes was the mushroom toast, I had it both nights with no regrets. If you are in Islay, this hotel has everything you need for a great visit!
