Michael's guys were able to drill small holes and run the wires to our TV and cable boxes; as well as hide the excess wires. We now have a fresh look with crisp white book cases and mantel. The pink bricks are gone and we have beautiful nautical navy blue bricks. Full transparency, Michael is my brother in law, but if my refresh was anything less than fresh I wouldn't be writing a rave review. They said the wood was pre-primed and wash their hands from any responsibility. They offered to correct it only if I paid for another project. They canceled on me 18 hours before the job after 6 weeks of having them booked because I asked a question about payment preferences. They told me "this is getting complicated, I'll pass on the job" at 5pm the day before they were supposed to arrive at 8am. They also told me they "want happy customers" as their reason for canceling on me, and then used that to justify themselves for canceling when I communicated my disappointment at the end of the conversation and promised them that I would share it. They "knew my type." I implored them not to cancel - I'm a working mom with a new baby and a 2.5 year old and am living 60 miles from home while my house gets renovated, commuting back and forth for various commitments and waiting for things like this to get done so I can move back in. The renovation has been delayed (standard for these times of course)--which had led me to need to reschedule twice before, apparently something that pissed them off--and I really didn't want to have to spend the time to schedule someone else. No such luck, and they got even more rude. Before I booked with these people, I got several quotes that were much better value, and all three companies I spoke with other than Boston Bathtub were more professional and more helpful. I chose these guys because I wanted to support an independent business in my community. Retrospectively, I'm glad these people won't be entering my home or getting my $745 (and I'll be saving a couple hundred dollars, too!). I'm posting the entire text conversation here so anyone considering this business can see and judge for themselves. I'm evening going to leave the part at the end where I get mad and stoop to their level with some snarky comments, in hopes of making clear that I'm only going for transparency here.
