I settled on Bay State Refinishing after getting multiple quotes, not only were they very competitive, but the quoting process and communication throughout was stellar. On the day of service, the technician was prompt, courteous, professional, and did a truly outstanding job. The care taken to protect the area surrounding the tub and ensure there was absolutely no damage, residue, or peripheral impact from the refinishing was above and beyond and the outcome was more amazing than could have been expected. Tech was nice and professional but there was residual damage. Would have been nice had the company worked to resolve the issues but it is what it is I guess Edit/update: since I can't respond to the owner (who I didn't know existed until my review), here are my thoughts. Instead of responding w boilerplate information about professional painters tape, you could have reached out and tried to formulate a nicer response than what was given. That would have also deterred me from lowering your review on yelp. read more

I scheduled an appointment with Dave on 10/23 for10/26 they never showed up, I called to make sure they were still coming. Steve told me he couldn't find the appointment that was scheduled, and he would call me right back also to send the email that I had sent for the confirmation. By this time, it was 4 pm and no call from Steve. I called on Friday morning on 10/27 and spoke to Dave who originally set up the appointment. He said my schedule appointment was not in their system. I re-forwarded the email that I sent of the confirmation of our appointment we had set up on the phone, he mentioned that it went into the spam folder. The responsibility should be on the vender to send their customers an email of a scheduled appointment and a follow-up. Dave, asked would I like to schedule again, and I said yes, I also asked who Steve is in the company and he is said rudely I am not going there. I decided not to reschedule the appointment. They are unprofessional, wasted my time and my maintenance technician. Don't waste your time on this company, it's not worth it and they won't show up. Very disappointing!! read more

I set up an appointment to have my kitchen sink refinished.. they requested photos which I provided.. they sent me an invoice which I agreed to... when the worker arrived he took several photos.. said he had to call the main office.. he then handed me the phone, and I was told that I needed to have the sink masked off and plastic put around the area to prevent overspray, understandable because I've had it done before.. he said it would be extra money for that service.. (remember I sent him photos so he knew all that when he sent me the estimate)... I asked how much extra he said $200.. that is 70% more than the original estimate... suddenly the cost jumped from $350to$550...stay away from this company.!!!They are crooks.!!! read more

We had our tub refinished in May 2023. By June, the refinished surface was peeling away from the tile shower walls. I called, and they said they would send someone to repair the problem. The first appointment was a no-show. I called again, and they scheduled a repair...this appointment was again a no-show! I emailed and left a voicemail about this second no-show, and have never heard from them again. I strongly do not recommend. read more

Two other floor people whined about the engineered wood and the prefinished hardwood and how much they didn't like working with it, and Juan was like, "Ok, yeah, let's fix it up for you!" He spent time with me to figure out the color, made adjustments in the plan when we realized the risers couldn't be salvaged, and was just fabulous to work with. I've already recommended him to a friend and will have him restore my grandmother's cedar chest. One floor refinisher was almost 2x Juan's price, and one was 1.5x more, and neither were very nice. Bay State did a beautiful job on my tenant's tub. The porcelain was wrecked from people cleaning with Brillo pads in the distant past and always picked up grime and held on. The guys came in and cleaned, scoured and applied an epoxy finish. My tenant is very happy with the result. read more
