But most of all they sign you up for a membership that you didn't approve and the two months later they will take money from your checking account!!! And if you're on a fixed income and request your money back they won't give it to you!!! You can never get through to the billing department!!! Called mcwilliams 6 13 26 in the morning they scheduled me for 6 14 26. They called me after 4 on 6 14 and said they would not come until the 15th. I told themI had Dr appointments in Houston for an ongoing serious condition and I do not know the outcome of that visit. Have been fighting cancer and need the ac working. service can be a hit and missed depends on which technician they sent you. There was one very bad technician Rafael who obviously did not follow or complete the standard steps to check the HVAC system . When I questioned or kind of politely remind him to complete the step , he lied about he did it but I know he did not. Also, he told us we had to change a tiny parts from the outdoor unit, which basically just pulled the part out and put the new one in.The charge was not reasonable or ridiculous concerning the technician was already onsite, the company charged us a whole complete trip . They said they always charged by a job regardless of the technician was already there or not. We looked up online, the parts only costs $4 , they charged us about $260. The worst part I don't think Rafael has switched anything out. When I asked him to show me the " defective" parts ( he claimed) , he could not show me that , instead he show me a new piece and just explained to me how it would look if it is not working. We emphasized not to send Rafael ever since. In general, everytime they come, they would tell us we need to have this and that done which may not be necessary. One time we booked a job based one of the technician's recommendation during his regular maintenance check. When the other techician show up on the appointment date, he checked it again and said it is not necessary. I bet this technician is more ethnical than the others. Again, there may be a couple good one with this companies, while most of them are mediocre, someone likes Rafael is really bad when both skill and moral standard are in doubt. We used this company only for regular maintenance because we know how it should be done. You may want a second opinion on whatever recommendation they are tyring to " sell" you because most of them are not neccessary. read more

I received a flyer for installationof new system and "no interest for 36 months." I had to replace the whole system in the house I just bought when I got to TX. I called McWilliams to ask about their equipment and a technician arrived the following day. His name is Jessie. Initially, I qualified for a military discount and also a senior discount. He said they could combine them. He showed me three options for equipment installations. I was interested in the middle option and asked what the price would be for that with my discounts applied. He stated that he had contacted their finance officer and he had deducted the discounts and sent the results to Jessie in an email... which he had shown to me. I have no idea what the original prices for those 3 options were because I was not allowed to see those numbers, only the listing in the email he showed to me. I opted for the middle option which was just over $20.5K. I told Jessie early in our conversation that I wanted the "no interest for 36 months" option on the flyer. He said that would be done. He kept asking me if I wanted to finance, I replied "with McWilliams?" He said no, they work with a business that takes care of the billing and financing. I asked if I could still get the "no interest for 36 months" and he assured me that I would absolutely get that!" I had problems with the finance people who sent me a text saying they were sending a "welcome letter" to me and that I could not open my account until that letter arrived. It took forever with many emails to get them to respnd and they finally sent me the letter in an email so I could open my account just a few days before the first payment was due. I sent in my first payment of $500. Received a statement back and they had chaged me interest on that payment! They kept $174.08!! I contacted McWilliams, then called the loan company. The clerk took my information and said she would give it to their office that handles complaints, would take 2-5 days for an answer and that they would contact McWilliams and work out the problem. It's been over a month, I made another payment this morning that was due today, still knowing the company will charge me interest. I am beginning to think there is a fraud problem with McWilliams because I purchased equipment under their "no interest for 36 months" plan and I'm getting stuck with interest payments to the loan company. I have contacted McWilliams many times, clerk says she will contact their finance officer and HE will get back with me. HE never does, even with calling several times to get this problem settled. After reading other recent reviews, I don't think my problem will be handled soon and will follow others in making complaints to the BBB and any other office that takes on consumer complaints. I want the "no interest for 36 months" that I verbally contracted for which Jessie told me I would absolutely receive. Oh, on on a recorded message when I paid this morning, it said I could not pay off this loan during the 36 month period of the loan. I might just go to a McWilliams office and pay off the loan right then.. I'm tired of playing their game, bait and switch or fraud or right the interest problem ... 3-19-25, a service had been setup to fix our plumbing, shower backs up with water on the floor from toilet and into second bathroom. After the service and the question was asked of me as to how the situation was after they left and this was my response on 4-10-25. No, everything hasn't been resolved with regard to our recent service visit. Our initial problem persists (shower overflows) and my wife is angered because we paid your fee to correct this issue that has not been properly addressed. When the tech was here he told my wife that workers informed him while digging of the septic system, while this person represents your company immediately after his arrival he determined the pipes needed replacing and mentioned opacity at a certain point. At the cost of replacing our pipes we agreed, believing this would fix the problem only to have it overflow in less than one week. This is unsatisfactory and deserves review and consideration for cost adjustment, or provide remedy for the issue we initially called you about. We are trying to work with you for resolution before taking other action. The other day we received a drinking mug with McWilliams' logo on it and a package of cookies. If we hadn't been fortunate enough to not require financing for this debacle, we would be paying monthly with interest for this horrendous 'service'. Let the buyer beware! Furthermore, after sending this response to them they have not reached out to us and the problem still persists, Nothing was fixed after spending thousands of dollars the shower is still backing up. The service person gave me a quote that was totally ridiculous for the work to be done. After I said no to the quote he kept coming down on the price until he reached a figure that I thought was fair. This is the way the company does business. I had the same experience when I used them before. If I had more time to deal with the plumbing issue I would have gone to another company. read more

I used them to put in a new heating system and through the process that hit me with a maintenance contract - they said i had to pay $184.00 for two checkups one in the winter and one in the summer and then that would be all BUT BUT they wanted me to pay a once a year contract for two times year and sent me the contract but i verbally told them no and I DID NOT SIGN THE CONTRACT AND DID NOT SEND IT BACK - but on April 2, 2026 the took $184.00 out of my checking account and I called and the girl I spoke with was no help she said that a person with contracts name Colton would call me and I was going to be refunded the money where did they get the idea that they could just take money out of someone checking account without notice or approval??? McWilliams came to my home to replace the fireplace gas valve due to a leak. They canceled my original appointment so I had to allow them in while out of town. I paid over $900. They did not have the proper size pipe/valve, and instead of addressing that, they installed the incorrect one, left and sent me the bill. Not only does the valve stick out from the wall when it's supposed to be flush (it looks terrible), but the key fitting is improperly aligned. The key cannot stay in the valve & constantly slips when trying to turn it. Upon discovering the failed repair, I had to call McWilliams several times to get someone else out to look. They use a separate answering service that is incapable of getting a manager on the phone. They claim they "escalate" calls/issues and yet not one time did someone call me back. They also threatened to charge me for the trip to inspect their faulty repair. Finally another plumber was sent and confirmed the errors made. McWilliams said they ordered the correct part/fittings. Months go by and more of my "escalated" calls are ignored. I finally call and demand the manager (Colton) call me and request a refund for the failed repair. Hours later he does call and wants to send yet another person out. He was unable to provide proof that they even ordered the part after keeping me waiting for months and ignoring more of my calls. Instead he said "I see many outbound calls to you recently". That's it. Unable to provide any further info. Those calls ONLY pertained to the HVAC maintenance plan I had purchased. He made this insinuation knowing he had been ignoring my calls. This proves either he doesn't know how his company works or he is a liar. 1)Faulty repair 2)Lied about ordering parts 3)Ignored phone calls 4)Lied about phone calls made 5)Refused to provide refund. 6)Claimed "repair was made but just not to my satisfaction" - I have this in a text... from the MANAGER! Their employee turnover rate is laughable. No wonder why. The lack of respect management has, not just for consumers, but for human beings in general is appalling. read more

Outstanding service! Prompt, polite, very knowledgeable, honest, great business hours. Loved the service tech, Katie. She clearly explained why my AC did not seem to be cooling, and gave excellent advice on how to easily remedy it. She did find other issues that could have caused major problems in the future, and she took care of those as well. Because I live in a mobile home they had to work around lack of insulation issues, but after several tries everything was fixed to perfection. All the service people and office staff were very friendly and professional. I had a whole new HVAC system installed and I am very happy with the final result. read more
