This operation is a Craigslist farce and doubt they operate under legit state/federal business licenses. They hail from the backside of a rubbish filled decrepit shack on the backroads of Coraopolis. We made the mistake of trying to save money buying used but in the end MDofPC cost us more than buying new! The first few PCs tested were on the verge of crashing. The owner took the PCs upstairs and swapped out parts. When he came back one PC worked, but none functioning proficiently. We eventually bought one after the goober sold us on how it's last years. After getting home the internet didn't connect and after less than a hour the PC crashed due to a rouge program. We decided then to return it for a full refund. After viewing a couple sites that indicated MDofPC was open on Saturdays we drove 2 hours to pay a visit. The cross-eyed goober of a owner stormed out of the house screaming like a 2 year old what the hell do you want and who the hell are you! We explained that he sold us a faulty laptop and we were paying a quick visit for a refund. The owner replied what the hell does this look like Best Buy! We're not open Saturday so go away. We replied online it says your open from 9-1 on Saturday. Sorry if we inconvenienced you but we just drove 2 hours and would appreciate you taking the faulty laptop back and refunding our money we only need a couple minutes. The owner then threw a bag of trash in our direction and said that's BS it doesn't say that we're open Saturday and I'm not turning on my credit card machine. We explained that if he would give PC access we could show online where it indicates he's open and so he can update the site so other customers don't get inconvenienced and drive out of their way. Again, he said BS and told us to come back next week. We don't want to make a 3rd trip if you (i.e. owner) are going to play games and not offer a refund. The owners shady reply was that he'd consider doing something. Something? What does that mean since we don't want to make another trip for nothing more than a debate. We told him we'll just leave the laptop now and he can call next week to issue a refund. The owner said, "I wouldn't suggest doing that if I were you." What kind of response is this? We repeated, so you can't take two seconds for us to hand you the laptop so you can lock it inside and call next week to issue a refund? The owners reply, what do I look like, Best Buy, I've got blah-blah going on right now and they wouldn't take care of you either, oh and by the way this has never happened before. The best I may do is a charge a restocking fee plus another 15%. Right, we're naive enough to believe that this never happened before and furthermore why should we as honest consumers pay a restocking fees for a POS PC that was sold illegitimately? Who uses these type of copout lines anyway? Sleazy, lazy, unethical businesses, that's who! Anyway, at this point we decided it was best based on his verbal tantrum to leave the premises and take the faulty laptop to a reputable shop and pay them out of pocket to inspect and repair it. Upon doing so the reputable repair shop stated the previous party in possession of the laptop had illegally installed programs and unethically sold us what amounts to a lemon. After a couple hundred in repair bills we can only conclude that the irrational actions of the MDofPC owner, illegally installed programs, unwillingness to issue a refund, inattention to not perform pre-sale repairs, and intent to sell on faulty products results in a very poor business model. What a racket and we get it now, they sell POS PS's, then force customers to return and pay $75 or more to repair the worthless POS they originally sold. We've never been so offended or treated so rudely in a customer service setting as this experience and we hope these posers go out of business very soon before they steal too much hard earned money from other honest and trusting consumers like us! read more

A few years ago, during the Christmas Holiday, I was visiting my family in Moontownship. I brought my laptop to finish a work project, the only way my boss let me have the holiday off, even though I promised my Mom I wouldn't do any work this trip. When everybody was asleep out came my laptop. I opened it up and nothing happened!! It was completely DEAD!!! I don't know if I should blame the TSA or some burly luggage handler. So I tried not to panic, I turned on my moms archaic desk top, crossed my fingers and googled computer repairs Moontownship and MD of PC popped up. I woke up early the next day, told Mom I had to finish shopping, jumped into the rental car and headed to Coraopolis. As I entered Coraopolis I saw a "MD of PC sign showing where to turn to find this business. I met John, the owner, handed him laptop and within minutes he told my laptop's hard drive had crashed. He told me he could replace the hard drive and would try to retrieve the contents from the dead drive. Once John told me this I felt the weight of possible unemployment lift off of my shoulders and now relieved, I left and went to find that essential cup of McD's coffee. Now properly caffeinated, I returned to MD of PC and there was John waiting with my laptop already repaired!! I thought he was kidding and had been prepared to sit and wait for hours. I couldn't believe that he repaired it so quickly and that he was able to transferred all of my priceless data. John even clued me into something called "The Cloud". I have to admit that I'm a marketing guy and not a Geek. John charged me exactly what he quoted and I left a Very Happy customer!! Thanks again John!! read more

Oh no, it happened! The blue screen of death! Yeah Yeah, I know I have an old laptop- but it does what I want it to do and why buy some new model when I can hopefully have mine fixed for much cheaper. A friend suggested I give MD of PC a try because she had used them and thought the guys there were wonderful and very helpful. At first I was a bit skeptical, especially being a woman and not wanting to get ripped off for my lack of computer knowledge - but that wasn't the case! From the moment I walked through their door, I was treated with respect and honestly. They were able to fix my laptop quickly and efficiently and I left a happy customer. Fast forward - I finally had to upgrade my laptop and when I got the new model, I was beyond lost. In the process of trying to navigate the new windows 8, I somehow uninstalled my soundcard. I called MDofPC to help me with issues with my laptop, desktop, cell phone, and also my TV. He did an awesome job in connecting my desktop to my TV so I didn't need to use my small monitor anymore. He also helped me purchase a wireless keyboard and mouse. That saved me a lot of space and it made my work very efficient. He also upgraded my internet connection and helped me install a wireless connection so it became really enjoyable using my laptop. He also helped me upgrade my cellphone and assisted me with purchasing a better cellphone for the right price. Now whenever I encounter any issues with my computer I immediately call Sean. I was referred to this place a few years ago by a friend when my giant beast of a gaming laptop was giving me issues (ASUS Republic of Gaming 17"). They were able to keep it going far longer than it would have otherwise. Piece by piece the laptop would fail, piece by piece they would help to repair it. When it finally died for good I was able to find a comparable laptop and pay it off little by little, trading in my dying beast for the last payment. The ONLY issue I had with the replacement laptop is the online store listed it as having a lit keyboard but the final product did not. Turns out the online store listed possible features not actual features. Not worth dinging a star for something that isn't really needed. They're a little bit far from where I live, but they're the best place I've gone to get my laptops repaired and replaced. Well worth the travel time, well worth their cost. This review is long overdue. MDofPC had helped me out twice with computer problem. The first time was a couple years ago when I came back from a long overseas trip and found my desktop computer would not turn on. After he examined the computer and concluded a component (cannot recall what it was now) needed to be replaced, he voluntarily found me a used one and saved me big $. Last month, when I returned from another long trip, my stone-age computer started to act on me again. After dropping off the computer at MDofPC's place, I was about to leave. Yet, he asked me to stay on as he checked up the computer. To be short, he somehow had it working again right on the spot. And guess what, this time, not only didn't he charge me a penny, he even very gentlemanly helped me carrying the computer back to my car. I just can't say enough good thing about this guy. I bought a used macbook from MD of PC. It was much cheaper than other places for what they were offering. The computer worked well for a few months, then it started having problems. I contacted the owner, Jon, and he worked with me through email troubleshooting. He was always quick to respond and tried to help. Finally, we came to the conclusion that the computer needed the operating system reinstalled. Since I relocated out of the country for work, I wasn't able to conveniently stop in or mail the computer in. But, Jon sent the disks that I needed and after reinstalling the operating system and software that he also sent, everything is now working fine. I understand that used computers (and even new computers) have problems. I appreciate that MD of PC offers cheaper alternatives than buying new. I'm very happy to recommend the services of MDofPC for fixing your computer. I have a 2012 Macbook Pro and after spilling water on the keyboard I thought it was dead. It wouldn't power on at all. I called MDofPC because I was looking for a place to sell it as a broken Macbook. To my surprise he said if I brought it in to be cleaned he might could revive it. He said about 50% of the time with water damage all they need to do is clean off the corrosion from the water on the logic board. Sure enough I brought it in and later that same day they called me and said it was back alive! I picked it up the next morning and it's just as good as new! $75 plus another $25 for cleaning and now I have my Macbook back, and $100 is a helluva lot better than buying a brand new Macbook from Apple. Just a note of thanks to MDofPC who quickly helped me diagnose the major issue i had with a crashed Seagate 3TB external HDD (never buying Seagates again based on their double digit failure rates!... Look it up.) MDofPC spent time to determine the probable cause that required a "level 2" clean room fix and provided 2 good recommendations (go see my Kotar review).... I came in to see why my computer was not booting. My computer was running slow and wouldn't load. I took it to these guys so they could diagnose my computer. I had a few questions and the staff was able to answer them so that I could understand what was wrong with my computer, they had me leave it with them. I was very skeptical about this because I have had issues leaving my computer with a place before. Within a few hours, the tech called me and let me know the hard drive was bad.
