I am grateful that MDVIP developed a business model that allows time for a doctor to get to know her patients and patients can begin to trust their doctor. Our MDVIP Doctor is Janna Massar. I cannot overstate how much I admire and respect this doctor and her staff. My situation is such that I need to see numerous specialist throughout the year. Each of those appointments involve a lengthy sit in a waiting area before being ushered into an examination for a brief meeting with the doctor. With the exception of a few sentences containing medical information about my condition, our conversation is no more remarkable than what might be heard between strangers at a bus stop. The Dr Massar experience could not be more different. First there is no more waiting but there is so much more of everything else. Each year before the blood work review and physical exam, Dr Massar engages me in a conversation about everything form aches and pains to bodily functions. Nothing is off the table. I have divulged a humiliating amount of personal information to her. I am sure she has wanted to bust a gut but she always maintains an incredible poker face. Makes me laugh to think about. She has improved the quality of my life and my overall health through education and suggestion not drugs. Each year she recommends books for me to read about diet and cognitive health. I look forward to this years reading selections. Occasionally I worry that Dr Massar will move on or retire. And when I called MDVIP they could not find another doctor in my area, and refused to refund my money because I took the annual assessment. NOTE: I did NOT get the full assessment results and/or talk about them with my doctor because of their incompetency. 5 hours of phone calls; 3 "I'll call you back by this date", and lots of frustration. I had been considering a "concierge" physician for some time. When I injured my back shortly before Christmas, was in intense pain and encountering a medical system that seemed to want me to stay in that pain for some time - I knew I needed help. Meeting Dr. Keenan was a huge relief. One, he really cared and offered me immediate solutions including fast tracking my MRI and subsequent surgery. Office visits with him are pleasant and productive. I do not feel rushed or that my physician is overworked and stressed. He takes his time and offers me the care I need. I attended one of the MDVIP sessions here in Macon, GA for my doctor of 15 years and it was not very professionally done and not very informative by the MDVIP team hosting the event. In fact I thought very evasive and I basically came away thinking MDVIP are going to earn a lot of money being the support for my doctor who appears to want to go into more intensive care with holistic medicine. Initially I had read most doctors had 600 patients on their books at a cost of $2,600 gives them $1,560,000 a year in comparison with having 1500 patients coming and going at however much they receive from that. Who knows what that money equates to. Clearly a better deal using MDVIP but creating a two tier health system. My doctor is starting at 300 it seems that means 1200 people being shunted out the door into the local area with limited doctors available to take them. Personally, I do not want to pay that type of money for a once a year selective blood test from Cleveland Labs (Quest) when I am not convinced that I would get any better service than if I have to wait a day to go to a new doctor or go to Urgent Care if something crops up. Do these doctors become your friend? Well I have been going to mine for 15 years and he's not my friend but he is a good doctor and I wish him well but I do not like the hard sell which has been going on for weeks either with text messages or with emails or phone calls. They are targeting insecure people who have spare money to spend so I am not convinced it is a good deal and online reviews are mainly negative. Medicare and any other billing will also be done by MDVIP it seems cutting out the doctor's staff from unnecessary time consuming work. My answer would have been join a practice with many doctors, to take the load and pay extra staff to do the work but that would not give the doctor $1,560,000 a year would it? Plus the fees can go up every year so for now some may have the advantage but next year or the following year when fees go up they will not be able to go to that doctor any more. By the way if you are receiving a pension when was the last pension raise that gave you an additional $2,600 to spend on medical? I almost feel it is a scam. read more

I have been a member of MDVIP for about 2.5 years now. The concept of concierge medicine is a great one: more individualized care, more attentive response times from your provider. That's exactly why I paid a surcharge of $2000 + for care in RI with my providers. My first provider with MDVIP was excellent. He left his practice because reimbursement in RI is so poor and MA is more lucrative. My 2nd provider was very good. His office management was lacking and his front office personnel was lacking. Messages weren't relayed. Faxes weren't sent. Orders weren't received. It was a nightmare. The physician was gracious in that he compensated for this inefficiency by encouraging me to contact him directly. It was a great accommodation and one that I utilized frequently. The doctor was very responsive until quite recently, 1.5 years into our medical relationship. Recently, I was very disappointed with some aspects of the delivery of care. I called MDVIP frequently over the 2 years to complain, initially about the poor office management and most recently about my disenchantment with the delivery of care. Sadly, that corporation offers no effective oversight over the physicians' office management or over the physician's care. There is no tangible liason to troubleshoot issues between the patient and the provider. The company is solely in position to facilitate payments, to recruit patients such as myself with the lure of excellent care and individualized attention and entice doctors to join their platform. That is it. I have spoken innumerable times to even those in the hierarchy who provided little to no support in terms of my 7 or so complaints. I was shocked that there was no peer review or effective oversight of the medical practices. They claim to have scouts 'in the field' to visit the offices. With all my innumerable complaints, I never conferred with any such person nor did I ever receive feedback regarding my concerns with said individual. When staying with MDVIP became more of a travesty and a disaster for me as a patient, I opted to leave this platform. I have spoken with several others who are of the same opinion. It's a shame because it has the potential to be a great concept. But in reality, it is a money sink with very little in return. Give it great thought before you commit. She had her medical assistant and office manager interview her patients, she never had enough time to examine us or complete the visit. I got a call from my doctor (automated recording) late one night asking if I'd be willing to pay more to see him and how much. I don't remember what I entered but about a month late, this company called trying to sign me up. They want $2500 / yr for this. I'm glad I told them I'd think about it. The strange thing is my doctor is still taking regular appointments so I'm now even more confused. They made it seem that I'd have to find another doctor if I didn't pay up. I'm glad I didn't fall for this. Maybe this would be good for older people who need regular visits. I wish they at least do cancer screenings. MDVIP uses misleading payment schedules in their ads and websites and relies on that misunderstanding to lock patients into 1 year contracts that they cannot get out of. They then will not provide a written termination notice for the contract if requested prior to the final payment. They are banking on people to forget to cancel their contract and then use the auto-renewal feature to lock them into another year. While in theory concierge medicine seems like a way for patients to receive high quality care, the way this business strategy is enacted is taking advantage of those same patients. read more

I had covid which caused increased deafness and pain in my left ear. I tried several ENTs only to be told to go to a neurologist. I asked my doctor at MDVIP to get me into John Hopkins' neurology department. MDVIP blocked this about a year and a half ago. They said the coding was for an ENT-earache. A non-medical person, (clerk) made this decision. LOL This pain has progressed to a point where I suffer dizziness and splitting headaches on my left side of my head. My doctor gave me a free sample of Nurtec ODT which made me sick. I am leaving MDVIP. If my doctor continues to stay, well then I will have to leave him also. I am moving up to NH, so Mass General, here I come. They have a long-term Covid clinic up there and this is a common long-term Covid symptoms. My annual physical, i was not put in patient gown , notes reflected a lot of incorrect information which was vital for my health. I'm not confident in his decisions on treatment, given incorrect diagnosis whereI did not need biofeedback I needed surgery which I had to find a provider and arrange.I am a long time RN, I had to manage my own care, find my own referrals as he is not familiar with area. I have complex medical issues which I felt he could not handle and I did not trust him. I am not paying MDVIP to teach a doctor. I found a better doctor, no wait for appt and more experienced. Bad enough it costs me an additional $2,100 per year, recently when I was supposed to receive the results of a fasting blood I had taken, I did not. Instead, I was told I needed to take additional blood to fulfill MDVIP's requirements. I wasted the morning, expecting to finally review the results of the blood drawn in March, only to learn that the doctor was not present and they wanted to draw more blood. I had been with a doctor for many years who was excellent. I stayed with her when she joined MdVIP. My care did not change. She spent at least 45 min. with me on every visit. She was caring, knowledgeable, and always available for an appt. within one to two days. She returned phone calls the same day even if she needed to stay past 8:00 PM. Last year I was notified that she was retiring giving patients only two months notice. I later found out she did not want to retire and was forced out. MdVip still maintains she retired on her own which was completely untrue. They automatically switched me to a new doctor, very young and unexperienced. Does not even have an MD that is valid in the United States, and misrepresented his education to MDVIP and the practice. On my initial visit he spent 10 minutes with me. I am attempting to transfer to a different doctor in the same practice, and MDVIP has made errors three times regarding the fees and the transfer process. His fee was slightly higher, but I knew he had excellent reviews from patients. After three errors with Mdvip I requested to speak with a manager or supervisor. Twice I was told it would take 1-2 days. When I called again I was told all the supervisors were on other calls. Either they don't have enough, or they are swamped with calls from people with complaints. I also learned from reading the reviews on Yelp that if you have a Physical, you are then committed to paying the remainder of the year's fee. Also many people stating it is very hard to cancel you contract, or get a refund if you leave. I am hoping this new doctor will be as good as the one who was forced to leave. I will never join with any other Mdvip doctor. I read most of the new ones are right out of Med School, or went to inferior schools overseas. read more

I am currently taking care of my 82-year-old mother with dementia, she has been seeing the same doctor for decades that Dr started being a concierge doctor about 10 years ago. And she's horrible she's fake and she doesn't give a crap about her patience she pretends she does but she does not. It's a Sunday. I've tried calling her with a few questions that I have regarding the opioid medication she was prescribed She was at the hospital for two days last week, nobody can figure out why she's dry heaving. She has a compression fracture on her spine, and I can not get a response from this so called concierge, Dr. What a joke, I hear MDVIP doesn't give out refunds isn't that a great business model thanks a lot Goldman Sachs or whoever the fuck owns this business. I have been a loyal patient of HV Family Medicine for almost 20 years and have always trusted their care--so much so that I referred my 76-year-old father to their practice in 2021. Unfortunately, our recent experience has left us extremely disappointed. HV Family Medicine announced they would be transitioning to a membership-based practice starting May 30th (MDVIP). My father had a physical scheduled for May 27th, which was time-sensitive due to a reoccurrence of an infection and required bloodwork. He had to wait for this appointment because of insurance constraints and showed up fasting and prepared. He also received reminders of his appointment. After a 20 minute wait, to our shock, he was denied care on the spot because he was not going to enroll in their new membership program--even though this visit occurred before the official transition date. This isn't just a clerical oversight--this is a patient being turned away, without warning, over policy changes that hadn't yet taken effect. At 76, dealing with recurring health concerns, my father deserved better communication and, more importantly, compassionate care. Isn't there a Hippocratic Oath at the core of this profession? This experience has left us feeling deeply let down by a practice we once trusted. read more

They promise and don't deliver. As a very healthy senior I was hoping to get more attention and better guidance to fine tune my health. What I got on the first visit was an hour wait. Ok that happens it's a doctor and he said he had an emergency. No issues there. On the second visit it was 45 mins. Not good but waiting is something I can deal with. Let's get to the more serious issues. Went through the "health assessment " and the blood work looked to be very detailed. The physical was almost comical. Not tailored to the individual at all. Dr suggested a prescription. It didn't arrive at the pharmacy. Sent an email reminder to Dr a few days later. A MONTH LATER he emails me and says he got me mixed up with another patient. I started searching for another Dr. Called many of the MDVIP Drs but couldn't get in for a meet up with prospective Drs. Messages went unanswered so called MDVIP and they were friendly but no help. Weeks went by. Called frequently and MDVIP answered calls but were no help. $2,000 down the drain. Back to my regular primary Dr and same old crap. MDVIP is useless in my experience read more
