When I lived in Spain back in 2008, I stayed at this hotel many, many times and I was curious to see if it still lived up to my memory of this wonderful hotel. While this location is definitely getting long in the tooth, it is still a hip, upscale hotel right in the heart of Centro Madrid. I stayed in two separate rooms during my stay. One an "Aura" room on the 5th floor with a small Juliette balcony and wonderful views of Plaza Santa Ana. The second one was a cheaper room with views of the interior courtyard. I couldn't help but notice that the furniture, hardware, and accessories in these rooms are a little tired. In fact, I am sure that nothing has changed since I last stayed in 2008. If you can get a good deal on a room rate here, it is definitely worth a stay. The Spanish modern style has aged well and the staff is very helpful (in English, Spanish or French). However, there are definitely newer places to stay for less money. I just really enjoy the vibes at the ME Madrid. Their funky style perfectly blends both authentic Spanish class and modern contemporary design.

Madrid, I love you! This place is just awesome, a little overly modern for my taste, but who cares. Located in the middle of a square which our room overlooked. You will have a problem trying to get to bed early or taking a mid-day nap as it is always loud out there. i loved waking up and looking down into the square, it was great. The hotel was nice and well maintained, fitness center was really small but then again how much equipment do you need on vacation? Morning breakfast buffet was nice and full of choices. This hotel is really centrally located, i would go back in a heartbeat....

THE ROOFTOP IS THE SPOT. We tried catching this place on a Saturday night and it was bought out but when we came back for Sunday funday. Wow. The atmosphere is amazing! The staff were very friendly. The drinks were even better. They had a dj playing chill house music which went well with our mood and we just enjoyed the sun and drank. I do wish they had a pool so we could have taken a dip but regardless it was awesome. I would recommend this place to everyone even if your with family. Very casual environment yet upbeat. I wish we could of stayed at the hotel a night to experience the full concept but in Mallorca we will check out the ME.

Stayed here while on a business/pleasure trip in August. The hotel is located in a quaint historical plaza and conveniently situated near several restaurants, bars and shops. Having stayed at their sister location in Cancun, I arrived with high expectations. That being said, check in was a breeze and the staff treated me like VIP from the get go. They offered a spacious upgrade, which provided me with more amenities and a panoramic view of the plaza below. Of course, I accepted the upgrade and never regretted it. The room was well appointed with chic modern decor, a comfy king bed, a living area with dining table and sofa bed. My reservation also came with complimentary mobile wi-Fi, which was a big bonus when I was strolling the streets of Madrid but it only lasted one day. For some reason, the signal died and they weren't able to get it working again. Beyond that, everything else was incredible, like the nightly turn down service and nightly treats that the hotel would surprise me with, which included a charcuterie plate, fresh fruits and candies with premium bottled mineral water. One additional beef I had though was the loudness of the crowds and street performers in the plaza. I could hear them clearly late at night, while I was tying to sleep. It's not the most ideal situation when you're trying to catch an early morning seminar. Overall though, i enjoyed my stay here and would recommend it if you're looking for a more hip, modern hotel in a great location close to all the action, with easy access to local bars, restaurants and entertainment.

After walking throughout Madrid, I can say without a doubt that this hotel is in the best location for the 35 and under set. On the corner of the Plaza de Santa Ana, there are literally hundreds of bars, eateries, clubs right outside. We never took a taxi anywhere and anything else worth seeing in Madrid was a comfortable walk away. The Mercado de San Miguel and Plaza Mayor are within 6-7 minutes--this is where you can also catch a hop on/hop off bus (25 Euros for 2 days). Like all W's, the interior was sleek, modern and surprisingly warm. We opted for a superior room overlooking the plaza. If you're a light sleeper, you might want to think twice. Locals begin their nights at around 10PM and regularly go hard to 3-4AM, 7 days a week. The plaza has multiple outdoor cafes, restaurants and street performers so it gets pretty lively. Aided by an iPhone sound machine app, we slept peacefully. The room was spacious with tall ceilings, smart storage niches, a full wet bar with martini glasses and desk outlets for all your gadgets. Outside of the annoying $20 charge for slowish internet, service was warm and the staff was as easy on the eyes as the beautiful rooftop bar.

I cannot say enough about our experience at ME Madrid. It's modern and trendy (like the W brand) however, the service was better than any W that I have been to. When I arrived, I was fortunate to have been checked in by Pedro. He explained everything we needed to know about the property. He took us up to our room, described everything in detail and parked our car. In future exchanges, he remembered my name and was an excellent conversationalist. He also gave us a great recommendation on where to find the classic Paella dish. What a delight he is! Our room overlooked the Plaza, which I highly recommend upgrading to. There are panoramic views of the plaza and cafes. Most times, when you have a breakfast included in the cost, it's a light continental with 1 semi-warm dish. This was a full, well done breakfast with Spanish items along with American items. The service was wonderful! I am looking forward to returning to Madrid so I can experience ME Madrid!

This review is for the bar only. I walked into the lobby looking for "The Roof" (http://www.yelp.com/biz/the-roof-madrid) but found myself at a chill bar with a great view of the plaza. The service was good, the drinks were better and the music was great.

Great hotel. We stayed one night in Madrid and I really wish we had a couple more nights, especially at this hotel. The location was great, views were beautiful and the staff/rooms were all lovely. We had no issues with the rooms (yes, small, but it's Europe) and the staff were all very accommodating. When I go back to Madrid, I will definitely be staying here.

Omg I Loved this hotel. Very modern rooms. Comfy bed, electrical lighting system. The bath rooms were to die for. Black granite and huge lighting mirror and the shower had a 2 ways to water you from the sides from 8 shower heads or a huge shower head from the top. The bath room and the room were separated giving you a hall way and a huge wooden door to separate it. Hotel gives you free water when entering and leaving hotel as well as champagne. Friendly staff, easy access to Grand Via and many local shops and Restaurants. I really wanted to go to the Rooftop Bar but it begin remodel when I was there maybe next time. Affordable hotel compare to LA hotel's especially for a 5 star hotel. Definitely will be back in 2018 Thank you for the awesome experience hotel staff.

We had a terrific stay here. We opted for a suite with a connected room; both on a high floor with fantastic views of Santa Ana Plaza. Breakfast buffet options were plentiful and of high quality. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful with arranging transportation and tour as well as giving restaurant recommendations. The Reina Victoria is centrally located; there is plenty to do within walking distance. If we visit Madrid again, no doubt we would choose this hotel. Highly recommended!

Okay minus one for the extremely slow moving elevators but the room was really nice, service was excellent, and the breakfast was chefs kiss! The room was decked out in a beautiful gold with a sofa, table, and spacious bed. Amenities included WiFi, complimentary shoe cleaning, and glass bottles of water daily. The outside view was nice (top of the palace or something), bathroom was spacious with complimentary body wash, shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, and lotion. There is a coffee machine in the room as well as a small fridge with drinks and snacks priced per item. They had 2 robes in the room, velvet clothing hangers, and the softest room slippers. Also right across the street is the famous Prado Museum and The Cooking Clubhouse cooking class. Their service was excellent helping me load-in and load-out my luggage and there's even an indoor lounge and bar. Would come back 10/10, Salud!! :))

For the money that you pay in the location it is, you can't wish for more. Very tempted to actually give this place 5 stars ... Where's that 1/2 star when you need it? ;) The location for this little gem can't get any better, located right in the heart of Madrid's tapas district: La Latina. The reception is located together with the bar, which may be a little confusing for some, but the service is so welcoming and friendly, that it poses absolutely no problems. You are not only welcomed with a smile, but a welcome drink, which is exactly what you need/want when you just arrive somewhere. The bar is also welcoming and well furnished with a homely feeling The room wasn't massive, but furnished with very modern and chic decor giving it a very funky upmarket feeling. The bathroom was also very modernly decked out. More space was given to the bathroom than around the bed, which I appreciated. The shower was also a walk in jobby, not one of these bath/shower combos which I have no time for (having no kids mind you). We had a room with balcony facing the street which was just perfect. Fair to say that come morning there was a fair bit of noise with rubbish trucks and the like waking us up, but to me this only added to the charm of the place. Experiencing the hustle and bustle of a city is exactly the reason I travel to such place .... Others I'm sure would not agree. The hotel is right on the popular Cava Baja road, where there is no shortage of tapas restaurants and boisterous, young night lifers spilling out of bars and restaurants and into the street from sundown to well in the morning. The hotel's own entire first floor is a restaurant, with an open-roof courtyard of tables. This sounds nice but presents a problem as the rooms surround this courtyard on the above floors. The noise wasn't *horrible* but it was definitely noticeable - talking, chatting, clinking, laughing - until midnight or so. The rooms are small but with good use of space. My sister and I shared a room, and the lack of mirror of any kind outside the bathroom made it hard for two of us to get ready at once. Also, the bathroom is a sliding glass door with frosted glass, so I don't recommend this for non-couple sharers or those who don't know each other really well. The breakfast buffet was €12, which seemed a bit steep for a breakfast, but the fresh juice and croissants looked tasty. The location was excellent -- we could walk to Mercado San Miguel, Plaza Mayor, Sabatini Gardens, and walking to Museo del Prado and the Reina Sofia was do-able if you wished.
