It's definitely out in the desert, but that makes sense, they need plenty of space to safely house and care for so many different animals. All of the animals looked healthy, well cared for, and comfortable in their habitats. The admission price was very reasonable, and the Extreme Feed experience was absolutely worth it (just keep in mind it's for ages 18+). I know it can feel a little sad seeing animals in enclosures, but learning more about their backgrounds helped put things into perspective. Many of them can't survive in the wild, and this sanctuary gives them a safe, protected place to live with a staff that clearly cares about their well‑being. Overall, it was a meaningful and memorable visit, and I'm glad places like this exist to give these animals a second chance.

::: Rescue seekers beware :::…read more I got the number of this "rescue" online because I was looking for a small dog I then called them and was told that they have over 60 dogs, and that you should come by to find one. A couple days later I came by with my daughter, and picked one. And was told that they would let me know when she was ready. - we left and we hadn't yet discussed any money. I also never filled out an application, and was never even told about their website. A few days later, after finding out they would be okay to get a dog, I text them and let them know. I was then told that I could not pick her up yet. When she was ready, I drove back up to the shelter, and picture up along with many goodies for her. The customer service was excellent. :: I then asked what the fee was, and she said $300 :: Notice that I left with the dog, without filling on the application or visiting their website, nor had I even been told that it was non-refundable. After having the dog for a few days, she was suffering from extreme separation anxiety, and after getting complaints from the manager of my building, I said I'm going to return her. Upon my arrival, after dropping everything off, I looked at Maria and said "So can I get a refund? Things didn't work out"... This was the first time hearing that the fee was not refundable, and their reasoning was their non-profit, which again is news to me. But Maria told me that she doesn't deal with the money, and to text that number. After going back and forth with the person via text, I let her know that I'd have to escalate this, because of the reason stated above. I then then had to file a police report and will have to go to civil court. This is my long-winded way of telling potential rescue parents that make sure to read all the fine print. The person that I was texting did not do things by the book, and I think she knows that. So make sure you cover all your bases, and understand that you cannot get a refund, only switch it out for a different dog. And most importantly, choose your dog wisely. Since there's so many dogs, there's no way for them to know the temperament of each of the dogs. When I brought mine home, it completely changed when I left the house. Just being there likely causes trauma to those dogs, and there's many animals in each kennel.

I called the 211 Hotline, they gave me Rock'n our disabilities, phone, and address. After I filled out their application with my information including my driver's license, and evidence of my disability from the doctor. I kept an email from Yolanda that I'm approved and she gave me the address in Victorville to pick up the food. They refused to give me food by Sally in Victorville on January 12, 2024. also, I reported in person to Dana the manager in Hesperia, she told me we do not support adult disability just children with disability. Dana told me you need to fill out another application for your disabled kids and you need to pay every month $50. Also, Dana told me it requires your disabled children to attend activities otherwise no food for you. Also, she notified me we were short on food even though my car was number 5 in the line. Attention: when I was waiting in line for food in my car, I could see the employees including Sally taking to their cars the expensive stuff and after that giving the people what was left over. you can ask the people in the line if you do not believe me.

This cute pet store is indeed tiny, but full of love, and aims for finding the best homes for the animals they have in their care. When I stopped in, they had an English Bull Terrier, English Bulldog, and American Bulldog looking for a new home, as well as kitties (which are also housed at the Purr Ground) nearby. I love how much effort they put into getting to know the animals in their care, as well as taking care of any health needs. As for picking up supplies, they have a decent amount of cute accessories for dogs and cats to check out.

He made it seem like I could be on one account by myself and they would be on another one. When they walked away he told me that I am not eligible because we live in the same household. It has a good size parking lot for your guests. The inside has beautiful wood. This building used to be a church before it turned into the Wrightwood Place venue. I attended when it was swing night. There was live swing music; it was an event to help fund the local Wrightwood village trail. Definitely a neat place to check out. There's always public and private events happening.

High Desert Keepers is an environmental support and service group run but Scott Brown and a group…read moreof devoted volunteers. The purpose of the group is to located trash that has been illegally dumped in the desert, and clean it up. Mr. Brown, the powerhouse behind the organization, has recently arranged for inmates from the Sam Bernardino correctional facility to help with the cleanup (separate from the other volunteers so the groups do not mix). This in not like a chain gang, but instead offers incentives to the inmates, so this particular work is something they would rather do over something else (it is outside, it is away from the oppressive prison walls, and it is a community service). Over the past few years more than one hundred tons of trash and abandoned machines and vehicles have been removed from various places in the high desert - turning targeted areas from illegal dump sites back into their pristine natural landscapes. All work (except for the few days per moth done by county correctional facility inmates), is done by a growing group of concerned volunteers This is good work being done here.
