From her obituary to her viewing, chapel service, committal, and reception, everything was beautiful. I unfortunately was not informed of my dear mother's service that was going to take place this past Friday, Oct. 8th due to unscrupulous siblings. I Googled my moms name and I finally got news that she had indeed passed away and her services were being held on the date I've mentioned. I immediately contacted Mead Mortuary to inform them that I did not agree to the arrangements that were planned and that all of my moms natural born children were not informed of the service..All services were halted pending a meeting of the minds, and Mitch involved himself by first he did ask if it would be ok to pass along my phone number to my scheming sister, which I agreed to, but no agreement was reached. And second not informing all parties of important information..Mitch called me and my brother several times last week acting as a mediator of some sort trying to convince us to go ahead with what my scammy side of family had planned as they were on "the way to pay for the service on Wednesday of that week". Well as I stated no agreement was made so my "sister", took it upon herself and she contacted a different mortuary company, then proceeded to have my moms body transferred ( although the embalming occurred at Mead) to avoid the halt in services which Mitch placed upon proceedings and then she commenced with the service at the different location on Friday afternoon under the siblings noses (the rest of us again were not notified of the time or location) and she clearly forged signatures at the new funeral home. I did speak to the funeral service owner whom allowed this to happen in the space of 24 hours. I am upset because although Mitch was acting as a mediator and contacting me and my brother all last week so we could get a date set, he allowed my sister to move my moms body without any calls to inform me and my other siblings what was happening when that information was important and truly needed. We called the Mead office back around 4:45 on Friday and that's when we found out about my moms body being moved from an angry woman in the office but I was unable to get her name as she hung up the phone in our faces as my brother was very emotional on the phone and she said if he didn't shut up and allow her to talk and try to contact Mitch as he was gone for the day she would hang up in our faces and she did just that. Stay away from this business. They are terrible in a time of need. read more

Worst visitation ever. For my father to have his visitation here was disgraceful to him. They had a picture of some smiling family up right next to a photo of my dad. They were smiling and happy and no relation to my father. There was no skirt around the bottom of the coffin. The staff was not very sympathetic they've obviously been in the business too long. People in times of grief need compassion and caring and to have more thought by the place to put in the work to make it about the individual who passed. It was very cold towards my father it felt as though his life didn't matter. No pamphlets were made for him for us to have. This was a pitiful excuse of a place. Very disappointing! I would never hold services here my stepmother did my dad a disservice holding his visitation here. read more

I want to start by saying my father made a arrangements for his funeral when Mead Mortuary was still a privately owned Establishment with a burial insurance policy (19 years ago). The contract/policy was paid in full (9 years ago) and when my father moved out of state he made sure to go into Mead and pay additional expenses to cover transporting him back to CA for services and interment at Riverside National. Now for Dignity Memorial (who is the corporate owned) funeral provide that brought Mead from the original Mead Family, their current director (Mitch) at Mead is not Compassionate. I realize that funeral services are a business and he is in it to make money, but I personal feel he makes thing harder on the families. It has been over a month since my fathers services and I wanted to give myself some time to think about leaving a review. One example is that he requested the clothing my father would be dressed in brought to the mortuary more than a week before his service so they could prep everything, which we made happen. Then less than 2 hours before his service he calls us to inform us that they are dressing him and some of the clothes don't fix. The nearest place to purchase dress clothes is Victorville 30 miles away and not enough time to drive there purchase something and get it to the funeral home before the services. After call friends and make coworkers we found someone local that was willing to give us a dress shirt, I called Mitch to let him know we had replacement clothes being brought to Mead and he informed me not to bother they made the shirt work with the jacket and tie that had been taken to them 7 days prior. This is just one of the several things the did not go well from Mitch. The young men and lady at Mead seamed nice and Compassionate. Second example, one of my coworkers had a parent pass away the week of my fathers services. My coworker has been in tears several times after getting off a call from Mitch. I do not have all the details but it seams he is not making things go smoothly for coworkers family. read more

I do not recommend Mead Mortuary! My father's visitation was yesterday (11/28/2022) and to say I was disappointed is an understatement. When walking into the visitation room the first thing I noticed was a picture of a family smiling. This family was in no relation to us. There was not a sign in book for people to sign or even a pamphlet for his family to keep. His casket didn't even have a curtain around the bottom to hide the metal carrier. Our father's life was worth so much more than what was displayed. The lady greeting us was polite but the gentleman that was there was very sturn and rude. Loosing our father has left such a void in our hearts. Having a little bit of compassion goes a long way sir. Do better! My dad would have been disappointed that his wife (not our mother) did such a poor job of planning his visitation. Disappointed beyond belief. read more

This is the best place in town to hold a funeral or memorial service. The director, Leslie Lopez, and her staff, are all very polite, and caring and supportive in your time of need. They really go all out to make sure all of your needs are met, and spend more than adequate time to ensure that eveything is explained in an understanding way. Brittany was extremely helpful and supportive through the whole process. She provided an overview of burial packages and worked closely with our family. Services are expensive but I think you'll find that with any funeral service agency. read more
