Her medications were often forgotten or were doubled up. It was ridiculous how cavalier they all were about her needs and lack of wellbeing. I would never, ever recommend this facility. They will tell you what you want to hear about your loved one, but nothing changes. My aunt was literally screaming out for help during the night. Instead of being concerned, they were annoyed and closed her door. Terrible care, terrible staff - including the doctors - terrible food and attitudes.

I was taken aback by the thought of this stubborn man would ever let something like losing a limb would stop him from doing anything and the staff helped him prove his point. Three Christmas' ago my teenage son (at the time) got me a gift card from here. He worked and saved up for the gift. It wasn't a lot to the everyday person but to his momma & him it was of great sentimental value. He specifically asked if it ever expired bc he knew my health was at a low that year. They promised it never expired. I even called & asked after it was given to me for Christmas. Fast forward to last week. I have recently also moved but was back in Norman visiting & decided that since my health was better I would go use the gift card for Botox again. The worker that was there claimed that it had been four years & that gift cards expire after a year. I questioned it & she said she would reach out to the owner Ashley (which is who used to do most of my services). I was told that they would not be honoring the gift card. The card clearly says that there's no expiration date on the back. The face value is not that much to the everyday person but to me, they devalued a gift from my son. It's very unprofessional & illegal. Federal law says gift cards have to be honored for five years unless clearly marked.

Oklahoma City as a cautionary tale to whomever may entertain the idea of placing a loved one, or…read moreeven a liked one, in this facility. I relate my experience with the Southridge Place Assisted Living Community in In August of 2018, I was informed that my father, a 77 year-old Army veteran, after suffering a fall, was being discharged from a rehabilitation center and required a living situation where nursing care and assistance were available. I, being unfamiliar with the nursing home INDUSTRY, and with a sense of urgency and impetuousness conducted cursory research with several assisted living facilities. After speaking with the "Community Relations Manager" (read: salesperson - much like a car lot salesperson) I settled upon Southridge. The salesperson used the term "private pay", and in my naivete' assumed that this meant that my father's health insurance would utilized to pay for his expenses since he was covered. NO, "private pay" is a euphemistic way to say 100% out-of-pocket. And, with his room (one status up from the bottom) was $2, 850 per month. Add $56 a day for Level 4 care equals $4, 530 per month. ALSO, Southridge charges a one-time "Community Fee" of $3,200 (which mercifully can be divided into three installments). Now, if you are questioning what is a "Community Fee", it is a charge for upkeep of the facility, most notably the exterior which I never saw any of the residents outside enjoying the manicured lawns nor the structure's exterior decor. This being the case, I can only surmise that "Community Fee" is for advertising for visitors and potential residents. As I stated earlier, I was unfamiliar with the term "private pay" and was under the impression that the facility would be making a claim for expenses through my father's health insurance company. I was informed by one of Southridge's personnel that my father's insurance company had denied their claim. Now, keep in mind that Southridge is 100% out-of-pocket, so why would they bother calling the insurance company. Upon further reflection, I called my father's insurance company and was notified by their customer service representative that there had been no action initiated by Southridge with regards to my father's policy. Very suspicious! It would safe to presume that they had LIED to me. I had always made myself available to the staff, and kept lines of communication open, so there were multiple opportunities to inform me of the payment misunderstanding. The second-to-last insult, (after paying multiple $50 late fees) was that Southridge was going to evict my father. With all deliberate haste I relocated my father to more accommodating environs. My father vacated on the 15th of the month, and since he had paid through the end of the month, reasonable people conclude that he is owed a refund for the two remaining weeks. That was not to be. The ENLIVANT CORPORATION, with which Southridge is a network affiliate, cited THEIR policy in issuing me and father 25% of the remaining room charges of which my father received no benefit since he was no longer a resident. Needless to say, I was outraged and contacted their accounting office to appeal this decision and was assured that this issue was being forwarded to regional management; I have heard NOTHING in over two weeks. Currently, I have contacted, and am contacting the Oklahoma State Ombudsman's office, Better Business Bureau, Department of Veteran's Affairs, and I feel that I would not be amiss in speaking with my state representatives about this experience. Our loved ones deserve to be treated fairly, and not be drained of their resources for which they have labored so hard throughout their lives to accumulate, nor to be taken advantage of. These people are in the sunset of their lives and have earned the right to live free from intimidation, and with respect. I hope that this lengthy missive will give you pause, and to be circumspect and inquisitive if you are considering ANY assistive living or nursing home facilities. My mission is to give my experience with Southridge Place to any, and everyone I meet.

They kept the family up to date on her issues. During her last 4 days of life, they had someone with her in the room for 24 hours. Not only to minister to the family, but mostly to be sure that she didn't die alone. Everyone pitches in for these watch's from Chaplin's to Social Workers. They were a great comfort and have to continued to be there for the family if needed.

I'm 99.99% sure Dr. Hancock is an angel or miracle worker or something. I was in physical therapy for almost a year and had basically given up hope that my neck/shoulder/arm pain would ever be fixed. I thought I would just have to live in pain for the rest of my life, which sucks. I mean, I'm 24. Dr. Hancock is such an easy-going, friendly doctor. She really takes the time to address all of your concerns, which I greatly appreciate. I am terrified of needles. Like seriously, people, TERRIFIED. I don't like it when people shove foreign objects into me and inject me with ouchy medicine! -.- I had had trigger point injections before seeing her from a different doctor, and they caused more pain than they helped. After discussing (at great length) several treatment options for my pain, I finally decided to allow her to give me some injections. There's just something about her that makes you trust her - something in her personality....something. I don't know how to explain it. Every time I see her, I joke, "You don't know how lucky you are that I'm letting you give me shots." Because it's really *that* big of a deal to me. One of the best things about her office? You don't need a referral. She's a pain management doctor....and you don't need a referral. Wwwhhhaaaattttt. I am truthfully eternally grateful for Dr. Hancock. I'm living a pain-free life right now, which is more than I ever thought possible three months ago. If you are in pain, Dr. Hancock's office is the place to go. Other notes: Her office staff are extremely friendly. Her office is super cute, modern, and clean.
