What an amazing experience…read more I walked into the office of a maxiofacial surgeon expecting to get my tooth pulled that day. The surgeon explained that because of my age, I would not be able to receive an implant until 10+ years and that I would run into issues with that tooth if I decided to pull it so early. He then referred us to RC Endodontics for an emergency root canal. I walked in terrified because of the poor thoughts on root canals and the issues that could arise later from failed root canals or root canals in general. They got me into the office in about 30 minutes, which was wonderful because I had been losing sleep over this tooth and experiencing horrible ear aches and jaw pain for days. They took a look at the tooth and saw that I had bone loss and a severe infection through that part of my jaw and tooth. Dr.Parmer was extremely kind and helped with my worries and concerns without judging. She performed the procedure and injected me multiple times to make the procedure more comfortable. It's been about 3 months since I've received it and I'm no longer in any pain and my bone has gone back to its normal state. I am so grateful for such a kind office and such a well done procedure. Dr Silvers was going to try to do a partial root canal since my son is young, but she ended up having to do a full one because of the way his teeth are. He was having a problem with getting numbed and she had to redo it 4 times... through no fault of hers, its because his roots were so long. Each time he would flinch or say it hurt she would stop working, give it another try and wait. She was very patient and never seemed to be annoyed or anything like that. I really like that during the consultation and the actual appointment she talked to both of us. With him being a kid some Dr's and Dentists tend to speak to only me, or on the rare occasion only to him, as if I were only there to provide a ride for him! Which is a common question and I assure her that he's a calm kid and he'll be fine and she says okay. My son wasn't making any noise, wasn't running around. And no, I don't have someone to watch him because mother works and I work in the afternoon. It's the only time I can take care of my needs. Then I have nurse come by to tell me we need to do X-rays and if I have someone to watch him. Again I say no I don't but he can stay off to the side while I'm doing the X-rays. I get it, it's radiation. Me and him have done this before he knows what to do. She tells me to hold on while she asks and proceeds to take 10 minutes doing whatever it was she was doing (does it take that long to ask a question?) and approaches me and just says okay I'm ready for you. Well I assumed we were good and I tell my son who is calmly sitting down watching a movie on my phone to walk with me. As we're walking some other lady receptionist gets up (mind you she's in the back and not sure what her Tuesday was like but girl sit down) and tells me oh he can't go back there... I start arguing with them we already went over this and she says because we don't want him running around and I'm telling you're assuming he's like that, look at him..he's doing nothing but standing next to me. We go to a room where they have two chairs and I said oh are we doing the x rays here and the mute nurse says yes and then cleaning and I said okay well can I bring him after the X-rays and she says no we can't. So basically I was gonna leave him out there by himself the whole time. I asked what's the big deal, why can't I just have him sit there...of course another nurse intercedes and starts telling me AGAIN..well we don't want him running around... Guys! Communicate...hell man...I've been through this at other offices. They accommodate. Okay. Not every kid is the same. Don't assume. Me and him have done this before. He knows to just sit and chill. Four days before my appointment, the office called trying to cancel and move me to another day. When I said that wouldn't work, they called back an hour later saying they'd "fit me in" at 7:30 a.m. I showed up 20 minutes early, ready to go -- only to be greeted by a rude, short-tempered receptionist who acted like she hated her job. After spending 20 minutes filling out paperwork, she calls me back up to the counter and tells me it'll be $650 to over $1,000 -- even though the dentist hadn't even seen me yet. When I asked why this wasn't mentioned earlier, she snapped, "You should know what your insurance covers." She hadn't even asked for my insurance card yet! Then she tossed a flyer on the counter and told me to scan it to apply for some "medical credit card." The attitude was unbelievable. I also overheard another patient frustrated about a $150 cancellation fee, even though the office had just cancelled his appointment last minute. At that point, I walked out. I wasn't about to hand over hundreds of dollars to an office that can't communicate with basic respect. Dental work is stressful enough -- you shouldn't have to deal with rude front-desk staff, hidden costs, and zero professionalism. Save yourself the headache. Find a dentist that values transparency, communication, and respect. This place clearly doesn't.
