An all-time favourite is their embutido which must be a top seller because they sometimes run out of this meatloaf. You can steam it or fry it for a quick breakfast, lunch or dinner. They call it a meatshop plus because they also sell all kinds of stuff, from ketchup to toyo and patis. Soft drinks and juices are available too. Like all branches of this chain, the place is kept spotlessly clean. This must be a requirement to own and maintain a franchise. You can get your meat supply fresh or frozen. They're all good. Don't get me wrong, this place is really convenient for those who live in the area. They have meat (obviously), vegetables, cooking oil, herbs, noodles, different sauces and ice cream. (I only go for the ice cream.) If you're a senior citizen (like my mom), don't worry if you forgot your senior citizen ID. They have all the senior citizens who live in the area and frequent the shop fill up a form. The cashier will just ask you for your last name, does some math and you get your discount. Another great thing about this little shop is that they accept all major credit cards. Don't have a credit card? You can use your ATM or debit card. Sorry, they don't make 'pa-utang' or 'pa-lista' though. Oh, and they accept reservations! Last Christmas, we needed chicken to make relleno. They didn't have any that day, but they said if you put in an order the day before you need it (your chicken or meat), they'd have it for you the next day.

What makes this Monterey Meatshop different from the one I always go to, is that this one has more vegetables for sale. And the shelves are full of vegetables in the morning. It's always fresh and at reasonable prices too. There are fewer staff here so it gets pretty slow when there are lots of people. You do have to remind them about your order and how you'd like them to cut it. But overall, their service is still good.

When I host BBQ parties, these are my go-to and if I have time, I always go straight to the supplier. Other deli's and groceries are fine but Bitewise Trading has very competitive prices so this is a good supplier if you want to save money. They also sell deli meats, breakfast items such as colorless tocinos (pork and chicken variety), tapa (pork and beef variety), stuffed breadsticks in a variety of flavors, dimsum in large packs and econo sizes, siopao, and powdered drink mixes. The quality of all their products are great and they are all free from MSG, Prague powder, and artificial coloring. All very tasty and excellent! Good place for buying in bulk. Pick up prices are cheaper than deliver prices so plan ahead and save money if you can!

We tried to talk to the manager, who sarcastically suggested that they could write down the time during August 1 when the promo would take effect. If they wanted to offer the discount only after they open on the day itself, they should have indicated that in their callouts.

Needless to say we overestimated our drinking capacities because we could barely get to the halfway mark on our cocktails. Embarrassed and even more so inebriated, we decided to ask for the bill. When we finally received our totals we were surprised to find that the cocktails were on the house. Yippee! If you're doubtful about my experience, I can confidently tell you that the service was the same when I came back a couple weeks later, far more sober than the first time. On a refrigerated display are the different cuts of wagyu meat, which they slice in the premises in whatever thickness you prefer. Aside from the numerous cuts of wagyu meat, the store also has interesting pre-packaged options on offer like the wagyu burges, sausages and beef tapa. I've tried the tapa myself and it is absolutely delicious. So for your next barbeque or cheat day, make sure to drop by Kitayama and get several grams of their meat.
