I've bought meat from them quite a few times now, and the quality has always been excellent. If you're into Wagyu, they have a great selection ranging from A3 all the way to A5, so there's something for every budget. If you catch them at the Sunday farmers market, ask to see their bargain box. You can usually find some really good cuts at great prices. They also have some of the best prices I've seen on items like A5 Miyazaki ribeyes. If you can't make it to the farmers market, they also offer local pickup and can ship directly to you, which makes it really convenient. Huge shoutout to Josh as well. He's super friendly, knows his stuff, and is always happy to answer questions or make recommendations. I told him I wanted to buy some pullets and he gave me the address. I looked it up and found that it was a halal poultry shop. I live in Orange County, this place is all the way in Whittier. I drove a total of 4 hours to and from. When I got there, I asked the lady for a pullet. She took me inside and showed me what they had. I wanted younger 2-3 month old females, but all they had were these 2 chicks that both looked to be about 1-2 months old. I asked her if they were both female, she said "yes, I don't have any males here, only girls." I paid $20 for each of them, and drove home. When I got home, I took a picture of both of them, asked ChatGPT, and it said that at least one for sure was male and the other could be male or female, because it's hard to tell at that age. Then I texted the guy and wrote: "You guys ripped me off today. I can tell that one of the birds I bought from you was actually a male, I wanted both of them to be female. Not to mention, 20 bucks each is a lot of money for birds of this small." He wrote: "Those are actuslly male the ones i whouldve got were red I can Swap em For you" I told him that it was a very long drive, and he should either meet me halfway or give me a refund through Venmo. He said, "Ok but only one is male." I pointed out that earlier he said they were both male, but now he was saying that you can tell one is female from the picture. I told him that I can't tell if it's female. It's not clear. Nobody wants to invest time and money raising a young male, thinking the whole time it's a female. Males are not allowed in my area. He said, "we can zelle you no venmo". I gave him my Zelle information, he said "Ok tomorrow". This is the next day, and at 11:20 AM, I texted him asking when I was going to get my refund, because I hadn't heard anything from him and never received a refund, and I reiterated that there's no way to guarantee that even one of them is female at their young age. It's now 3 PM and I think it's safe to say he's not going to refund me or text me back. That means, In order to get a refund, I would have no choice but to drive out there again, all the way from Orange County to Whittier, because he won't meet me halfway either, to correct the mistake that his employees made when I was there. His employees told me they are both female and that they don't sell any males there. That's their fault not mine. I would have to waste gas and wait hours in traffic just to get a $40 refund that he should be willing to send me. I also want to add how paranoid and frightened of humans these 2 birds are. It's very obvious they've been mistreated since birth. Their living conditions in the poultry shop were appalling. Here at my place , they seem to huddle up together in fear. They also look very unhealthy. I own a mixed Black Australorp, I've owned 2 so far, and I can tell that these are almost the same breed. They sound and look just like mine, and they behave in a similar way, but their feather color is very washed out and pale, a chalky black. It's not a healthy black like mine. At the shop, they were all in small cramped cages, with no room to move. They lived indoors in a horrible concentration camp that's all concrete, no sunlight, no fresh air, no grass to eat, no soil to dig in. You can tell they've never seen grass, or soil, or sunlight, or breathe fresh air in their entire lives. The animals are slaughtered right in front of each other, which is 100% harram. This is what halal is to this store owner. The entire staff he has hired are non-Muslim. Maybe the only halal thing about this place is they drain the blood and the owner is Muslim, but who knows. I've also now uploaded a screenshot of the original ad on Craigslist. You can even see in the ad just how cramped and horrible these conditions are for the animals. I won't be returning them to that store. If one of them is indeed male, I will have to give it to the rooster rescue in Wilmington, which is not as far away from me, because I'm not sending it back it to that death camp that's even further away from where I live.

Not really knowing what to expect I reached out prior asking for a menu. The prices seemed like quite the steal so I figured I'd give it a shot. I left the valley around 8am and it took me about 35 mins to make it to East LA. They opened at 8:30 and when I arrived there were already people waiting. The setup is you walk up and take a menu. Once you make your selections you turn in your order and they begin to prep it for you. Now what's really cool is as we were waiting they were constantly bringing out new products not on the menu and even dropped prices on some of the items already out. A guy brought out a case of grass fed ribeyes for $6/each. I got several Australian wagyu steaks for I believe $10/each and I'm talking 10-12oz. It's been a long time since I've walked away feeling like I got a steal of a deal on anything in LA but this was amazing.
