After they open I waited 45 minutes to be helped. I just decided to walk out. The help never came. All the meat counter employees just keep chit chatting with each other, walking around not being concerned about the customers waiting, not enough employees serving the customers. First time, possibly last time customer. My son bought a car from next door so I went to Maloney's for dinner fixings. First of all, the marinated chicken thighs were 20 stars. Customer service was a weak 3 stars. We walked in, 2 people ahead of us, another lady came in and went to Cornish hen line. 5 workers roaming behind the counter plus a cashier. It took me 15-20 minutes to get 2 lbs of chicken. There was Plenty of meat already in the display case. Nobody was even waiting on the 2 people in front of us. Now I understand why, during last years Covid crisis people were complaining about the service here. I wanted a long time and I was already in the door! IMO, it was an unnecessary waste of time to come here. Plenty of other Mom n Pop shops to go to. read more

The wait is definitely worth it. I like to go early mornings because there is less of a wait. Not only do they have a great meat selection, they also have so much cheese! My favorite is the pastor prepared meat!!! The best. Tender and flavorful. I recently tried their carne asada and OMG, I couldn't believe how good it was, aside from the amazing flavor, it was sooooo tender, not chewy AT ALL. Had a terrible experience. After my mom and I have been customers for 25 years they disrespected her. They belatedly told her that they didn't like to help her. We have been faithful customers for decades and the honestly lost a customer. I called to a complain to the owner and they told me they didn't know when she came or know her name. The person who answered was Andres. He even hung up on me. My mom told them she wanted a cut and they said we don't like to help you. The butcher will take a huge 30 some plus hunk of meat to personalize the cut for you. Depending on what your cooking you can have a thick cut for a steak or thin cut for fajitas. We came by around 10:30 a.m. on Sunday and it wasn't that bad. When you order deli meats they give you a ziploc with deli samples. Tip: Upon arriving go grab a number, that is how they will serve you. Know what your ordering by the time your number gets called. This butcher shop did not meet my expectations. I am not an expert in meats but also not an amateur. I asked for some custom cuts which they declined to do simply because "we dont do that." Furthermore when I asked the person attending me if the New York Strip steak he was trying to give me was prime or choice he simply stated it was angus beef. I rephrased my question to say, "is this prime, choice, or select grade" to which he replied that it was certified angus beef. The so called butcher didn't even know the three main grades of beef. The meat itself is above average to good. They did give me a free sample of some ham and cheese, which was nice. The service was acceptable but their lack of knowledge was off putting. notice that the cuts of meat and labels on the bags dont even specify the grade of beef, very ironic since they have several certified angus beef posters, which is all about grade, marbling, and quality. lastly, they don't vacuum seal meats, something that is very useful for storing meat for longer periods of time than average. I suggest instead Luis Butcher Shop. i've been going there a while and they vacuum seal and make custom cuts. I dont work for them and have not been paid to advertise them, but their quality of service and product is superior to Maloney Meat Co. Overall this place is not good, but not terrible. read more

My husband's family are the ones that started coming here years ago and we have been coming here since. The turkey breast slices and muenster cheese is what we come for...Sooooo good! We make sandwiches with San Fransisco rolls and guacamole in them. We don't come too often because it is a bit pricey but sooooo worth it every once in a while! The customer service is good too! Looks like the butchers love working here. Farmer John products are sold here, first place I can remember see Dodgers Dogs sold outside the ball park. Ham & Turkey deli meats are very good. I been coming here for years, the little red house as we know it. Papa fillets are delicious, and the south gate New York is great. Any meat you purchase here is fresh, and delicious. The ground beef makes amazing burgers and tacos. Sadly this Tuesday 1/14/14 Mr . MALONEY passed away. My co-worker and I were just talking about it being our fave carniceria, and she just text me that he passed.
