We experienced an immediate sense of relief! The manager, within a short time after our arrival, examined the trouble spot. He spent 10-15 minutes examining the underside of the car while my husband turned the wheel back and forth, and then took it for a test drive with my husband as passenger. He said he thought the vehicle was safe.. He refused payment, saying there had been no repairs to make. We urged him to accept concrete acknowledgment of his expertise, to no avail. Visited this mechanic for the second time for the same issue (horn not always working)…read more First, I take back my assessment that Jimmy is "mechanic's mechanic". He was friendly with me on my first visit, but was rather cold on the second. When I said that I want to disconnect a theft-protection sensor under the hood (a common practice for Mazdas of this generation), he explained to me that it is not easy to do and told me to go home and do it in my spare time. - Well, why would I drive there in the first place if I wanted to do the dirty jobs myself? I said I also want to check the transmission mount, but he interjected that the next customer was already waiting for him. He didn't follow up if I wanted to schedule another appointment. Second, the wait times and punctuality. Both times I visited him I arrived on time. Both times I had to wait while he was busy with something else or taking calls. And that's another thing: he doesn't have a secretary, so he has to take calls which sometimes last 15 minutes. On my second visit the job (replacing the horn) took him about 15 minutes. Another 55 minutes were spent with me waiting while he was in his "office". Third, the sneaky pricing. On my first visit he told me the labor would be 70 CAD, on the second visit it was suddenly 75 CAD. And that's in addition to the 60 CAD diagnostic charge for this trivial problem after my first visit. All in all, I paid 152 CAD for labor alone for replacing a faulty car horn. Not too bad, actually, in Toronto prices. But, unfortunately, I will not be coming back with the rest of the issues my car has accumulated over the years.

The COST to get our cars serviced is EXTREMELY reasonable, so if you are looking for a break from the crazy rates at your car dealership, I highly recommend giving this place a shot. PLUS, the waiting area is quite cozy, with comfortable seats, a tv screen, drinks, and... CUP NOODLES! That's right, they offer CUP NOODLES, the legit Chinese ones that actually tastes delicious!
